This is definitely not the best mani/pedi I've ever had, but it's not the worst. The water in the tub was way too hot, I asked for it it to be cooled down, she ran the cold for 10 seconds and said "it's cooled down now". Um, no. Still scalding. There's also just no air circulating, so between that and the hot water I sat there dripping sweat the entire time. Now that I'm home, I took a good look at the work. My heels still have skin that could've been scrubbed off, the color is sloppy, and there is a visible line where the top coat was not applied. I will not be back, not worth it. Read Less

I received mani/pedi services at Nail Montage for about the last two years. Typically I go during the daytime. For a girls night, I recently scheduled a gel mani/pedi in the evening. Both my friend and I had appointments. When we arrived, we were rushed in and honestly felt manhandled. I had two different technicians grabbing at me. Without asking, they decided to do my Manny and petty in the potty chair. Typically, you are asked if this is OK or you request it because you are short on time. I wanted a basic gel color on my toes but I wanted a design on my nails. Other than a quick exchange when we first walked in, no one stopped to ask what either my girlfriend or I actually wanted done. So unusual considering you are typically approached about add on details such as nail design. At one point, I finally had to ask the nail technician to stop. I explained to her that I wanted something different then she was doing. Her response was that of annoyance. The whole experience was poor. What was even worse, was my mani/pedi usually lasts for weeks. I was back within four days to have three chipped fingernails fixed that you could see occurred from poor application (I.e., and cover the nailbed). They fixed those nails for free. That evening I found one of my toes no longer had any color on it. I really couldn't make a point of going back in again. Time is too precious. I was also disappointed when a few days later I went on a trip and found that my feet were bothering me because they hadn't trimmed my toe nails at all. All in all just really poor experience after spending $100 and both my girlfriend and I felt very stressed out after we left because of how we were handled. Read Less

I got my brows waxed here a few times. I stopped going because no matter how many times I told them to follow my natural brow shape and just clean it up, I get the same weird shape that ends up too thin and made me look silly. First, I will say that the staff was nice! ! ! However, I was part of a bridal party. The bride's and one of the other's chair didn't work. Mine was SO loud I could hardly hear the person doing my pedicure or my friend next to me, no joke. I got a basic manicure as well since we were getting a 20% group discount. I went up to pay and she said $80 dollars!! What?! I guess it was my fault for not looking at prices to begin with but it would have been $100 without the discount, for nothing special!! Good services at a fair price There are plenty of nail salons in Maple Grove, however I keep returning to Nail Montage. I usually get regular manicures, and occasionally a pedicure. I've always had very nice results with both services. The instruments are clean, taken out of a sealed bag. Also, the standard manicure includes the paraffin wax treatment, which is usually extra at most nail salons. Prices are on par with nearby nail salons. Read Less

I have been here before and it was fine, but this last time I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. My pedicure the polish did not fully coat the nails. In addition my gel manicure was not satisfactory. The manicurist did not ask what shape I would like, did not seem to know what she was doing, in addition the polish did not go all the way up my nail. NEVER GET YOUR NAILS DONE HERE!!!! I had previously came to this place to get liquid gel done on my nails and honestly she did a good job on them. I decided to try this place out another time and this time it's was super unpleasant. I had gotten the same lady this time and had set my appointment for 6:30 and which they close at 8 knowing that's more than enough to get my nails done and This lady rushed on my nails like no other trying to get the heck out of there! So every time she put the gel on one nail she'd asked me to place it under the UV lamp and then say "When you feel the BURN on your nails take them out"  and I was doing this TEN times! . My nails looked so crooked and the paint on them looked as if a ten year old did them! She finished by 7:15 and I felt like she had more than enough time to take her time on a $60 service. Read Less

Had a great gel manicure. Didn't catch his name but he took his time and was very gentle on my cuticles. It was reasonably priced too.The only thing that I would be interested in knowing more about (in hindsight I regret not asking) is sanitation. Not sure what steps are taken to keep the tools clean and they use the same wax bins for everyone when dunking your hands. Other than that I had a great experience! Read Less

If I could I would give zero stars. I went there  with a wedding party and relieved the WORST manicure and pedicure that I have ever had. Mind you, I've been having two manicures a month for more than ten years (with the exception of no chip.) First, we had an arranged time for our group, and (thanks 494) traffic was awful. We called to tell them we would be late, the sounded accommodating. When the group arrived, the bride was bombarded and bullied, saying that because the group was late they "had to turn down business." Ok, partially understandable, but as a business that has been around for awhile, if someone wants a manicure and your appointment is ten minutes late, you should have taken that. A basic manicure shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. Plus, we informed them that we would be late. Additionally, we had previously inquired about a BYOB, and while they said that they always accommodated BYOB, the did not provide any cups at all. A small detail, but it matters at the time. For the final kicker, my basic mani-pedi French tip took 72 minutes. Really? It wasn't made of rubies and unicorns. Not only did it take FOREVER, my mani chipped within 4 hours (without heavy use) and my pedi chipped within 10. Sure, you can say that living in Chicago I have higher standards, but why shouldn't Maple Grove have that? I'm not sure what's up with nail salons in MN, but this is by far the worst. First off it's freaking manicure 101 - first you file the nails THEN soak, the lady doing my nails took my nail polish off all half assed then proceeded to try to soak my nails. I had to tell her to file them first because they break if you file them after soaking. She filed my nails like crap, they're not even or smooth! I'm now walking around with crappy painted polish and you can see the old polish, I wish this damn place would shut down. Read Less

Worst pedicure I've ever had. The girl looked  (stared off the entire time) so bored giving me my "massage". Which was nothing to brag about. There was no pressure what so ever with the massage and it was repetitive in the same spot while she stared off. She took a total of 5 minutes with trimming my nails, shaping, cuticle work, and using the pumice stone. After I left, my nails remained gummy, almost like it was bad/old nail polish. I came here with three other women for mani/pedis the day before my wedding. We weren't originally planning on going here, based on price and reviews, but were on a tight timeline so we gave it a try. The prices are fairly high, and based on the quality of the service, completely overpriced. I asked about any discounts (another reviewer mentioned a new client discount), and got a very snide no. We all got seated and started immediately, but they were very rushed, forcing one of my friends to get out her credit card before her nails were even done, so that person could leave. If you aren't going to give quality service even remotely close to your closing time, then close earlier or tell people that it is too late. I can't imagine the service that the three people that came after us got.My manicure was the worst that I have ever gotten. Luckily it lasted through my wedding the next day, but by day 3 it was chipping. I can normally go at least a week with no issues. I have no complaints about the pedicure. Clearly people were very eager to leave, as only one of the stylists was there when we left, but she was very helpful. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice of a pedicure I got here.  It was a quiet Friday afternoon so I almost had the place to myself.  The decor is better than most nail shops and helps set the mood for a relaxing treat to myself!  The technician was efficient but good. I dont like a super long pedicure but love the massage.  Nail Montage does this well.  You also get a paraffin dip at the end which Ive never had before.  Cant beat the price either for this part of town! Truely a disappointment. My friend and I made pedi appointments for 2p. Twenty min later they brought us back, put the water on and then left to go do other customers' nails. By the time they came back the water was cold. They approached every customer in the salon as if they were very rushed....I don't think anyone felt pampered. They cut my toe nails straight across without any rounding/filing so now I literally have sharp corners on the due of each nail that I had to come home and file by myself. The color was unevenly applied and missed parts of the nail. Both my friend and I felt he same about our two salon workers. I had planned to get an OPI gel manicure after the pedi but definitely did not go through with that after he mediocre pedi experience. We chose this salon based on it being one of the finalists in Maple Grove's "best of" 2013.....makes me wonder about the quality of the other salons in MG. I had a really good experience at Nail Montage. There's a bit of blockage so that you're not constantly listening to women traipse in and ask for a fill. Paraffin dips come standard with all nail services. My technician was clean and efficient. I wasn't upsold or chatted to in any way. The prices aren't that bad. It's Maple Grove and this is a mid-range salon. If you want cheaper, you know where to find it: every other strip mall in the galaxy.I thought the nail polish selection was lacking. Several bottles were old and/or mislabeled. That's not terribly important unless you want to buy a bottle for touch-ups or just because you liked the color so much that you wanted a bottle of your own. Whatever. This place is the most expensive nail salon I've ever been to. Seriously 95 bucks for a manicure and pedicure? Granted I did get the gel nail polish option but Jesus Christ I almost gagged when I heard the price. And other than the gel polish there was nothing spectacular about the job. The menu of prices said you got a parafin wax with every manicure and pedicure. I certainly did not get those things. I got a lotion rubdown for my legs and a scrub for my hands. While the my mani pedi is really well done I left this place feeling like I got hoodwinked. I went with my mom and she got a paraffin wax with her pedicure. She too was charged 95 bucks. She got a pedi and her fake nails filled. We both felt like we got ripped off. Yes the job was nice and the salon is one of the better decorated and fancy nail salons I've seen but Aqua down the road is just as nice and their top of the line most luxurious mani pedi duo package is only 65 with the extra charge for gel nail polish. This place Is so expensive it's offensive. They don't list their prices up front either. They have a menu you can pick up, open and look through but there is no list of prices directly in your eyesight. Shame on me for not doing research on prices. I learned me lesson with this one. I love getting the Gel nailpolish, they have a bunch of colors to choose from and it does last 2 weeks, some times I get a small chip, but I have learned not to pick at my nails now and its fantastic! It keeps my nails from breaking without having to put a hard fake nail on. My real nails can grow out and be strong and pretty. I am 6 months pregnant and went to Nail Montage the other day desperately in need of some relaxation and some pampering. This salon was worth every penny and every minute I spent there. Upon entering Nail Montage, I immediately noticed the contemporary, spa-like atmosphere, which is different from most of the nail salons around town. The salon was clean and well organized. I purchased the spa pedicure and it was amazing. The massage chair was the best (perfect for a sore and tired pregnant woman!) I got a steam foot mask, callous remover, wax treatment, and a foot/ leg massage. It was all perfect and the pedicure itself ended up looking great. At the end of the massage, my nail tech offered to let me sit in the massage chair as long as I wanted and even brought me magazines to read. I left feeling like a million bucks. The atmosphere of this salon was so nice. The lighting was subdued and the decor was really nice. They also have two Hello Kitty pedicure chairs for little customers. So cute!! Based on this great first experience, I have officially decided that I will return to Nail Montage once a month, because an hour of pure relaxation is so worth it. Definitely one of the nicer cheapie nail salons I've been to. They actually invested some money and consideration in the decor and ambience of the place. Nice lighting, tasteful decorations, spacious and clean. I love that they sanitize their instruments and open the sterilized tool packaging in front of you when they start their work.Also love that they have a website with all the pertinent information regarding services, costs, hours, etc. A rarity of nail salons...Prices are slightly more expensive ($5-10 more) than your average strip mail nail salon. My regular pedicure cost $29 with a new client discount and an additional cost for nail design. It lasted about a half hour and included a massage and paraffin dip.The only thing I disliked about my experience was that she was pushing their gel nail manicure when I specifically stated I wanted only a pedicure. I don't like being sold extra shit in any consumer setting, so when it happens it kind of rubs me the wrong way about that specific place...Overall, though, I'd return. I am heartbroken b/c I have a wedding coming up and I did NOT want to get fake nails.  This super expensive manicure ruined my nails!  I called the salon for a refund of just the manicure (not the pedicure which was normal and fine) and they said they do not give refunds.  I'm sorry- when you put something on my nails that ruined them.... and you're a nail salon.... that means I have a right to get my money back.  Avoid this salon, unless you want to be up-sold and have weaker nails weeks later.
