I was looking for a place to get a manicure for my 1st time ever. I read nothing but great reviews on Nail Bar and Spa and its close to my home. I read a lot of great reviews on Lee and so I set my appointment up with her. She is very pleasant and did a great job on my nails! I gave 4 stars only because I did wait for about 20-25 minutes to get in even with an appointment made a month in advance. Not a huge deal since the work was perfect, I highly recommend Lee! I went to get my nails done with my mom for mother’s day and I absolutely love them! They were extremely busy and they got us in and took care of us very quickly and did an amazing job. Today was our second visit to Nail Bar. My teenage daughter went for a basic manicure today before an interview she has tomorrow. The nail tech actually laughed and made fun of her for her short nails, and then proceeded to call several other young male employees over to show them her nails. She had guys leaning over her shoulder and laughing while he was working on her nails. Seriously?! I wouldn’t have believed it, had something similar not happened the first time we were there. I let it go that time, but today was much worse. He also rushed her out of there after only a couple minutes under the drying fan - saying “you should leave now.” Your employees turned something that should have been a fun, pampering experience for a girl into something embarrassing and humiliating. HANDS DOWN BEST NAIL SALON IN THE CITY! I've been to quite a few nail spa salons too! The massage they do during a pedicure is THE BEST! It feels amazing :). The manager looks like she knows how to run a business and maintains her customers satisfaction standards; I respect that. They offer comfortable reclined chairs, water, tea, and even candy in the front. I had a wonderful experience and my nail and toes look GREAT! I'll update in a few days to tell you if the gel stayed. The place is big so feel free to come with many friends and there are a lot of work to working so there is barely a wait. However, I did make an appointment. They accept walk-ins. They are hit or miss. I've gone in and had great service and then there is the last time. I just don't know if we'll ever go back. After months of my daughter begging for fake nails I took her. She is 9. We decided to do dips. She wanted them long and curved not square. First one hand was significantly shorter. Like the right was twice as long as the left. Then they didn't do the color she picked. She's super shy and soft spoken and so she just sat there. After we left she cried for an hour. Considering the young boy took about an hour and a half she we simply didn't have time to go back and have them removed. But the reality is they should have done them properly. I wanted to like this place. I really did. It's really cute inside, great ambience(if that's even a thing for nail salons) and the massage chairs are A1. However, I don't like to reward mediocrity with repeat business.Upon arriving I had to walk back and STILL wait before someone acknowledged us. A few of them literally averted their eyes without saying a word when I tried to get their attention. During the pedicure the technician was so distracted and kind of aggressive while asking questions and was nowhere near thorough. Also the massage was straight up painful. This is coming from someone who gets super deep tissue massages. My nail polish is already chipping 3 days in. My boyfriend's technician was very nice but wasn't thorough either.  He literally had to point out several spots she missed. Several. During our manicures we both wound up with several cuts. I have one on each finger which is torture for the line of work I'm in. All in all, listen to the other reviews. They'll get you with the cute decor but it's all show unfortunately. Read Less

Nail Bar & Spa is on point! From the walk in to walk out hand to toe experience. Henry did my feet and he did better tHan most women that I have had in the past. He actually cut my cuticles the way they are supposed to be cut! Sue did my hands and she was good as well. The only thing that bothered me is that I made an appt with the owner and she did not do my hands. She spawned me off to Sue. This is why I am giving the place 4 stars instead of 5. Super cute place , but everytime I get my nails done I literally get HURT from the tools & all they say is "sorry .." I've been there 5 times and I want to like them so badly ): they are close to my house , a cute atmosphere, and fairly priced . Although, maybe I'll just stick to eyelashes . I have been getting my nails done since I was 15. My nail lady unfortunately moved out of town. I ha e been trying to fine a new nail salon. By far this place pampers you as no other nail shops! The set up is so nice, very clean, all staff very nice! Prices are around any other nail salon. They offer you a beverage, when your nails are done they give a shoulder massage! Went yesterday. I have been here before. I called before i went and they assured i would be able to get both predi and gel fill. I got the Mojito pedicure. It was good. Then waited for my fill and no one came. I had to get up and ask who was going to do my nails? Then when a female came over she said it would be 15 more minutes. I just left. Overbooking just to get in more customers is not professional. Not going to complain to the manager. Update: nail color barely lasted a week. If that. It started peeling off within a few days. Sigh. Waited nearly a half hour, my nail tech (who is the manager?) left me in the middle of doing my nails around a dozen times and this is what my nails look like. I asked if she could do the design. Not kind of do the design.  Because, by the way, the photo of the design is from this yelp page.She didn't shape the nails and they're all different lengths and shapes. She barely spoke to me but yelled around at every one else. Why is it that Apple Valley cannot get a decent nail place? I'm going to have to reshape all of my nails and because she filed some down massively and others barely (because she barely looked at my nails while doing them), they'll all have to be shortened and cleaned up since she painted my skin to the nails and some areas are ragged along the edges. Also I'm now noting bubbling of the color. You have got to be kidding me. I'll update with how long the polish even lasts. Not a good sign at this point. Read Less

I just moved to the area from New Jersey where I LOVED my nail salon. I am afraid I won't find anything like it around here, but this place is closest to it. Easy to book appts and nice ambiance. I just wish the massage would have been better. I got a luxury pedicure and the massage was just ok. That is usually my favorite part of the pedicure. New, large nail salon.  My xbf and I both had mid level Mani/pedi pkgs.  Best gel pedicure with rasp callus  removal anywhere I have been!  Gel manicure was great as well.  The gel they use adheres well and lasts so long!  Written descriptions of all services so you know exactly what you are getting.  Prices are a bit high but better than wasting my money at other salons in my neighborhood!  Worth the drive! I received a $50 gift card to this location and had to look it up to figure out where it was. Who knew?! I have been by it a gazillion times and never noticed it. I did not make an appointment and showed up at opening time on a Saturday morning on 2/18 (9:00 a.m.) to ensure I was able to get in as a walk-in. To my surprise there were a ton of chairs in this place for pedicures. I forgot to count but looking at my pictures, it looks like there are 10 pedicure stations on each side of the place. I was offered coffee and she also brought me a couple of cups, with creamer/sugar.For someone that has only ever gotten a typical French gel pedi at a smaller salon, I was unaware of all my options and they weren't real good about explaining. In addition to pedis they offer various fingernail services and the center of the place is literally set-up like a bar, sans the booze. :( The nail technicians sit on the inside and the customers on the outside. they do have a couple of low-top parts of the bar in case you're not a bar stool kind of person. I was one of the first to be seated for a pedicure. They had a big plastic cover (think shower cap, but 5 times the size) inside the tub, presumably for sanitary reasons. The water was filled and some gal came around and put an adapter over top of where the water jets run, in order to allow the bubbles through the plastic cover. The water was cold. :( I even asked her to heat it up and she did, but it never got really nice and warm. The chair had lots of massage options.I was handed a menu of options for my pedicure. If I recall the name of what I picked was the Malibu. There was a sugar scrub, parafin wax for my feet, and she put a minty lotion on my legs and wrapped them in a hot steamy towel. And of course before all that she trimmed/filed nails and cuticles. They use a tool for 'sanding' (for lack of a better term) the calluses. She nicked the ball of my foot and I was NOT a happy camper. Afterwards, she was very careful, and hardly even used the tool on my left foot, I think given my reaction on my right foot. All-in-all, it took almost two hours for the whole pedi! I was surprised how long it took and it looked decent, but I ended up spending another $26 beyond my gift card *that included tip. Fairly new. Very spacious layout. Kim seems to be the rockstar in this place; I have seen her work and will request her next time. Prices are more than I am used to paying and kinda high for Apple Valley;  I am sure we are paying for the nice space and free drinks (coffee and water). I only saw the drink station as I wasn't offered any. I found this place by looking for a location that provided dipped powder nails services (SNS/NexGen). Dipping powder uses no offensive chemicals and I have been told its better for my natural nails. I can't confirm or deny the latter statement.The first time, Lee did my nails and even though I hated my nails, I enjoyed chatting with her. I tried to walk her through how I wanted my nails as I could see they were going to be thicker than I wanted.  She stated that she was going to file them down and then called me picky.  I wasn't offended by this comment because I own that and know that I can be ver particular when it comes to my nails.Update:I have visited a few times now and each time I have requested Kim.  They offer online booking and that helped with making my transition from Lee to Kim.  I have enjoyed my nails each time Kim has been my technician. Still haven't gotten used to the prices but they offer a reward card for a discount after so many visits. Very glad that I decided on this establishment for my cousins and I. The nail salon is very clean and immaculate. The techs were all very sweet and accommodating. The service was great & their prices were also very reasonable! We all enjoyed our pedicures.The only negative is that the massage was mediocre; there was no real strength or massage techniques.
