I don't normally write reviews but I am not happy with Q Nails. I had a pedi and now I am loosing 2 nails. I noticed her clipping my cuticles and she kept digging and pulled a long one piece strand off my nail. I did not say anything at the time but it looked weird. A couple days later I noticed stinging on my toe and the nail was pulled away from the nailbed. I will never go back!! Read Less

I have never written a bad review in my life. With that being said, I was completely appalled by the lack of professionalism I experienced today. I walked in with no appointment for a mani pedi and got seated right away which i was pleased about. A nice young gentleman (Alex) got my pedicure started and was very friendly. When it was time for my toes to be painted, a different gentleman came and took over. He was very cold and didn't say anything. He rushed through painting my toes (very sloppy) and then i went over to get my manicure. He kept getting up to leave with no explanation multiple times and glued the acrylics on my nails without pushing back my cuticles. I asked for a silver strip (french manicure) and it was done unevenly. I went home thinking i could live with it but then decided to go back in and have someone else fix it. I got seated with a lady who then called over the original gentleman who did my nails and she worked on my nails while they were talking chinese to each other (obviously talking about me) and it was very awkward. When its time for my toes to be touched up, she disappears and is nowhere to be found. I had to wait for a THIRD person to come and fix my toes. this whole experience literally took 5 hours and wasted my sunday. Will not be going back! Read Less

Had my hair cut and colored. Great experience. Edited 3/5/18 - I went in last fall and wanted to touch up the color and get my roots done. The woman wanted to use a new product and she claimed Q 'lost' my color sheet that told her what to mix in the old product to match my color - so she was going to use the new product. She mixed it and then applied 5-6 packages of the color on my hair because she said my hair was 'sucking up' this new product like crazy. (I do have thick hair, but it sounded like this new product was an issue too?) And then, after having it in my hair, she told me that the price I had paid all the other times I went in was wrong and that I'd have to pay for 5 FULL color treatments because she already opened them. I had no choice, it was already in my hair. Then she set the timer and left. She was on the phone when the timer when off.. and even after I asked THREE people in the store to get her because the timer had gone off, they left me sitting there for 25 minutes AFTER the timer went off because she was on the phone. Finally it was rinsed out (and I had missed the event I was going to that night) and it was so dark I almost died. She dyed my hair maroon. Deep deep maroon. I just kept saying "It's so dark... " I was in shock. She told me to wash with really hot water to lighten the color and that it would fade down right away. It didn't. She charged me almost $300 to ruin my hair. I'm not going back. Came here yesterday to get a full set pink and color for a wedding I’m in on Saturday. The tech didn’t fill the color in all way so there are clear and white spots all over the tips. They didn’t even have me wash my hands before putting the clear coat on top so there is a bunch of nail dust cured under the top coat. The color tip is way too think and all my tips are uneven lengths. Will never be returning here. (Picture in comments) Read Less

I have had nothing but great experiences from this place! I moved and had to find a new nail place and after being disappointed time and time again I decided to go back to Q ! I live in apple valley and I make the drive to Andover just to get my nails done! Wendy is the only one I see and she is so amazing! She goes way out of her way to make you feel welcome and does such beautiful work! I love her personality and she always does what you want even if you are like me and change your mind a few times while at your appointment! I went there for for the ribbon-cutting for their 20th anniversary as a Metro-North chamber of commerce member. Had a great time, found out the place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside, and the food is very good, I had no idea that there was a restaurant attached to this establishment. Read Less

Awful salon!! My hair color turned ORANGE and after two different attempts, stylist was unable to correct color. Huge, painful , red, burning rash development on my neck the next day. Salon didn't even offer my money back; just wanted to keep coloring.....WTF! I won't even get my nails done here anymore. Extremely upsetting. Read Less

Honestly, this was a terrible waxing experience. The tech used wax that kept hardening too fast and was ripping me up so bad I was bleeding. She arrived to work 3 minutes before my appointment and this had happened the last appointment I made where she arrived 20 minutes late and I had to reschedule. I rated a three because the woman who did my waxing was amazing! However the receptionist was so terrible i almost didn't even stay past check in. She was on the phone ordering food when I walked it, not even a one second or I'll be right with you.! She didn't even make eye contact and then when she hung up after a few minutes she just said "hi, can I help you?" Just a very unpleasant girl. Avalon & spa is a total renewal of body and spirit as you can relax and let professionals give manicures and pedicures that help in a relaxed environment give a very nice experience. I have had many appointments with my daughter and granddaughters where together we enjoyed ourselves by having these experiences together with appointments at the same time enjoying snacks and beverages complimentary of the establishment along with friendly staff assistance with choosing the choices available. I would recommend most of the services available, I have had my hair styled occasionally as well as an opportunity to have my facial hair removed waxed with a professional who agreed to assist me without prior appointment after I had a completed manicure & pedicure greets customer service. It should not take 2 in a half hours to get acrylic nails and a pedicure done! I have been to places where everything takes an hour and the service is way better. Staff is rude and i went with one other person and it should be we get done together since we both got the same thing which wasn't the case. I got done and waited half hour for her to be done. Worst experience today. I wanted gel paint done in French manicure style. The lady( Vivian) I believe was super rude and rough. While buffing my nails she almost got down to the skin on my nail bed. She then had to take the paint off my nails because she didn't dry them enough and they were chunky. After that she argued with me when she asked me how I like the white part of the French style when I said a little thinner please( she liked it thick). My 20 year old daughter spoke up when Vivian was done and you could see through the whites of my tips because she only put one coat on... then they charged me 35$ for that experience. Never again! I had a terrible experience at Q yesterday​ and it was unacceptable! I scheduled 2 pedicures and arrived on time. After checking in we were told go over there?? UM where??? We went over there and stood for five minutes. When nobody approached us we then went ourselves to pick out our color and wait another 15 minutes. Finally we were called and placed in chairs, nobody explained how to use the chairs and the remotes were worn off. We didn't get to soak our feet because they ...started right away. They asked what kind of pedicures and I said just the regular. I am sorry but how is that only doing your nails? I said at the end wait are you going to do my heals? That was an additional charge. They painted our toes and walked away. Seriously left us there with no direction or helping us at all. I had to ask where the lights were to dry our polish and again told over there. The place was a hot mess. It was loud, smelly & the workers were not friendly.  Only about 30 words were spoken to me the whole time. Worst experience EVER. Rude receptionist, awful esthetician. Booked a facial but ended up with a nightmare. Room was cold. I love this place they always do a great job on my nails depending on who you get and since I like doing designs this perfect but the thing that will always piss me off is even if I make an appointment with a specific nail tech I am still waiting 30mins they tell you to make them so you can get who you want but what is the point if still waiting. On top of that the owner que who got was starting a fill for someone when she knew I was coming a 11 she didn't get too me til close to 12 clock while waiting for her to finish with her  other client than when she finally got to me she has to bs for another 5mins and when she finally did start she had to talk to everyone that came by didn't pay me any attention to me at all and never apologized for the wait with me having an appointment. Finally when came to doing the painting she passed me off another tech that couldn't do designs and than I had to wait again another 15-20 mins to get one tech she couldn't do the design than another came didn't want to do it but she she did it begrudgingly than got another tech by this time have been passed around about 4times. Que came back not finish on me but to start on another client this was the absolute worse experience ever I don't feel I will ever go back but will definitely be looking for another place to do nails there are plenty. Word of advise for any one who goes don't get que she has no empathy and being the owner you figured she would want you to have a good experience. Read Less

If you get Judy, please ask for someone else. She did an awful job on my nails. Not only do they not look good but one of my nails had a chip on it by the end of the day as shown in pic. I think it's because she continued to file my nails after she put the top coat on! Who does that?? It's the little things that I see. She was rude to me when I sat down and as I was looking at my nails she gave me an attitude and asked me if everything looked ok. I really wanted to say no but I just let it be. She was awesome! My nails are exactly as I like them! They are the perfect length (short) and she did them nice and thin. I hate it when they are so thick! I usually don't come here because of past experiences but they were open later so I thought I'd try it again. The lady that started to take my old gel polish off got up and walked off only to come back to do someone else's pedicure as I was sitting there with foil still on my fingers. Another employee saw me sitting there in disbelief and told me to go to her station. She was very nice but my nails look horrible...there were kids screaming every where and that is the entire reason I didn't want to go back there. I went here for a message a few months ago and as I was getting undressed a kid slammed opened the door. It was so embarrassing, and nobody said sorry or came to shut the door. It's a very unprofessional place and I'd hope for someone to fix my nails but I'm sure it won't happen. They also had employees from the restaurant just lounging around complaining. This is the only nail salon I have ever been to that I have left happy every time! You get what you pay for and you get what you wait for! I am always comfortable there and my nails are always on point! They make you feel like part of the family! I have been to my fair share of nail salons and I will drive from New Hope to Anoka for my nails! They take pride in their work/business and they care about quality. You want quality this is your place but if you want a fast job this isn't your place. Like I said you get what you pay for and you get what you wait for! I've been coming here for years. I recommend making an appointment because they are often busy. I have had amazing nail art done many times. I brought my niece and her bridesmaids here for their wedding mani-pedis and they arranged for all 5 of us to have our pampering done together. Everyone was happy with their results. The people here suck, seriously they didn't listen to me. I came in with someone who wanted a gel manicure and I didn't want gel. They kept saying I was getting a gel when I wasn't. I got moved 3 times, and had to explain I just wanted my nails painted black to 5 people. When I finally got my nails painted, the lady rushed and messed them up, and then didn't fix them. They just don't listen and do a crappy job. They were to preoccupied with a baby in the store to care about anybody there. Bottom line, just go somewhere else. Read Less

Went to get a fill, they got me in right away but the (1st) woman who did my nails didn't say two words to me. The second was nicer but didn't clean up my nails after painting them and had to have someone else come and do the design.... Which looks okay... After going to a few nail shops in town, this place by far has more options for your nail needs. They can replicate any design or picture from other sites perfectly. Or custom design something just for you. Many colored powders, gel colors and polishes to choose from. The staff is always friendly and they take pride in keeping a clean salon. I went for a simple manicure, I walked into the shop, brought my own polish and was ignored for a couple of minutes.  I was seated at the manicure table and the woman helping me never spoke, I was like she was annoyed she was just doing a manicure.  My manicure was done and I went over to the dryer, I sat and sat at the dryer, no one came and checked on my nails, I announced I was dry and left my 10 dollars at the counter, I turned around and said thanks for letting me visit your nail salon.
