110% would not recommend***This is my first yelp review ever. I created a yelp just to voice what a terrible nail job I got at Jade Nails, Whitmore Lake MI.I am a avid nail person; getting my acrylics done every 2 weeks. I'm not an expect by any means, but I'd like to say I know a little about getting my nails done.I tried this place for the first time because of convenience. I did not want to drive 30 minutes to my regular place, plus they are always busy.I called first to confirm prices. 17$ for a fill in which was decent. I asked if they could do an ombre french manicure and how much extra it would cost. The lady on the phone said oh thats "included". That hooked me right away, I came right over. I get there and its dead, which wasn't a good sign already. They started right away, talking about what I had planned. They tell me fill in is 17$ and a cut down is 4$ or 5$ extra. What! Unless I was only getting a cut down, 4$ I get it. But 21-22$ for a complete fill in?! Ridiculous. I usually get a complete fill in for 15$. Plus they do a great job every time. Then I ask about the ombre nails, and they tell me 10 extra dollars. At that point, I was settling on just a standard color. I noticed at this salon they make lots of conversation which is a nice thing. But for the job I got, it does not make up for it. He didn't seem to be the best at grinding down the acrylic, nicking my skin, pushing hard to cut it down, etc. Then when he was done shaping my nails, he took a file and curved the edges of my nails. Giving it a weird round but square look. All I asked for was square.Next a lady finished up my nails. First off, she could not open the nail polish I picked out probably because all their nail polish looked 5 years old. The man had to use pliers and a rubber band to open the polish. The lady starts with a first coat. Then while shes applying the second coat, shes filing the areas the guy messed up my nails. So nail filings are going into the wet first coat. The second coat was poorly applied also, you could still see my nails in some spots.I will post a picture of the final product. Luckily I know how to do my nails better then most...so I reshaped and painted them myself. But I just wish my wallet didn't have to hurt for a job I had to fix myself. Read Less
