I had an extremely negative experience here. I got shellac on my nails here and Ashley who did my nails was very friendly, however just two days after, the polish was lifting and chipped off fully on all nails!! I called and complained and the owner said I could come get it fixed, no questions asked. When I was there for my redo, I noticed THREE other girls coming in for shellac fixes. One girl was talking to her friend and said "I'm here all the time for shellac touch ups!" GIRLS, THE POINT OF SHELLAC IS FOR IT TO LAST AT LEAST TWO WEEKS! THIS IS NOT NORMAL! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Stop wasting your time and money. The older russian lady who redid my shellac was very rude at the end when she expected me to pay for the fix and I said I was told it was covered. She said OK BYE. Merry Christmas (in a rude tone) and threw my hands down on the table. The gel machines literally reek of cheese and were very unsanitary. I really wanted to like this place, but I could not have been more disappointed. And the "redo" shellac nails was rushed and poorly done. I was not happy, the wait was way too long! The techs took there time with there routine clients and rushed out the new clients. They only have TWO fill in acrylic techs so if there taken you have to wait till there done with the costumer. I went in at 1 didn't leave till 230pm. I was so dissipointed and it was no way should it have taken that long, nor should only 2 people be trained for acrylic; all staff should be knowledgable for all products. After being let down by my nail lady of 4 years I decided to come try this place. They were booked but junior told me he would come in for me on Sunday at noon. I was so relieved as I work almost everyday and Sunday is the only time I have available. So I showed up today, Sunday, at noon only to find he took 2 other customers right before I walked in and acted like he didn't know I had an appointment at 12... what a let down! I went to Platinum Nails & Spa randomly one day because my usual nail salon was completely booked and I needed my nails done. After my first experience, I've gone ever since. It is a very clean area with very kind staff. I was never someone who used to be obsessed with their nails until I came to Platinum, where they worked hard to keep them looking clean and long. JR never fails to impress me! He paints my nails very well and does not rush. The staff is very good with communicating and keeping the customers occupied. Sandy, JR, Tony, Ike, all of them! Was in the shop a total of 3 hours just to get a mani and pedi. They were taking too many clients and their service lacked tremendously. My bill was 79 bucks and I asked why so high since I been waiting so long and the gentleman just responded (this is west bloomfield,what did you think you were going to pay). I always make my appointments by Junior and he truly is the best. When I first went to him (recommended by my best friend) I told him I wanted to try out long nails and asked me to put tips on for me, he called me crazy and just filed my nails into a coffin shape and they've never looked better. Everyone always thinks my nails are fake. I've had this shape for so long now! He cleans up really well and you're not sitting the chair for too long. I have been to this salon a few times for acrylic fill and pedicure. The staff is very friendly, the salon is clean and updated, and they have a large and current selection of polish. The quality of the service is lovely, I have always been happy and never had issues with chipping or breaking. The only thing I would change about this salon is the ability to tip via card. I never carry cash on me so it is annoying to have to go to the ATM before the salon to grab cash. I actually forgot about this policy my second time here and had to have my mom go out of the way to come here and drop off cash for the tip. Read Less

I've been to this salon a few times... on my most recent visit, headed in for a shellac mani. I went in on a Tuesday afternoon and all the nail techs were free/had no appointments but didn't seem very interested in taking a client immediately. One of the girls who I didn't recognize from prior visits (must be new) took over my nails and when doing the shellac setting, she informed me I wouldn't have to keep them under the lights more than a minute (I typically do 2 minutes at nearly every other salon after each coat so it doesn't come off right away). On Friday, while eating dinner and not doing anything that would involve damaging my nails, two of my shellac nails came off entirely and to make things worse, another nail chipped too. I'm annoyed because I can understand shellac chipping after 2 weeks- but 3 days?!!! Not to mention I also wanted a chrome like finish on two nails and got upcharged 3.00 per nail in addition to my shellac mani coming off already. Now I have a mani that looks trashy.  This salon is "good" if you go to the people that started it/have been there awhile and manage to get your appointment started on time.... but the past few times I've come here the service has been rushed and my shellac manicures have not lasted long at all. It's a shame because this salon is trendy and does keep most of the newer colors in stock... but sadly, the service isn't the best compared to other salons in the area so I would go to others first. I had one of the worst mani-pedis here, which is really sad because it seems like a nice salon and the nail techs were very friendly with all of the patrons... except for mine. She was texting the entire time she was doing my nails and had to use a brush and acetone because she couldn't color in the lines on every nail. Visited this nail salon on a Tuesday around 6pm. I didn't even realize this place existed until I looked on Yelp and I am always in the strip mall that it is located. The salon is clean and the people that work there are very laid back and chill. I got a pedicure that was pretty decent, not the best I have ever had but not the worst. It is EXTREAMLY bright inside. So bright that it was hurting my eyes. I know that is such a random thing but I couldn't help but notice. It feels like a surgical room in there it is so bright. The prices are competitive with other salons in the area. They do not accept tips in credit card which is SO ANNOYING! I hate having to stop at the ATM to get cash before getting my nails done. This review is way overdue!!! Hands down this is the best nail salon I've been to in years!! Clean, friendly, and innovative. The crew here is amazing, especially JR! Seriously this man is meticulous about his gel sets. I came in with a broken nail and he created a perfectly shaped squoval thumb nail out of nothing but gel. Who does that?!?! This is the second time i have been to this nail salon. I have had many issues with finding a new nail salon, so i thought that this would be my new home. Which is a big deal since it is only 5 miles from my work place but 30 miles from my home. The first time was a very welcoming experience. Everyone was personable and friendly. I dont know if it was because my appt was at 6p and they close at 730p but it was not as welcoming. Not saying they weren't friendly enough but i felt they were put off by me. They had a walk in for a pedicure which they promptly put her in a chair and she sat for about 20 mins. They did acknowledge her but what they should of did was told her that she was going to have to wait. She I'm sure assumed that she was going to get her pedi done. Well she ended up getting up and leaving. That's just not good. I work in customer service at both my jobs and it is hard to please everyone, but she never said a word except when she left.Although my nails look good. He burned me a few times filing them down. At my old salon if they wanted to take off the old we soaked our nails in acetone which makes it easier and of course less painful for us the customer. Also besides that filing he filed under my nail and cut into my skin. So for the first 24hrs my nails hurt. I also squeezed a lemon and the juice got under my nails and it burned bad because of the cuts under my nails.I'm not sure if they were just having an off day but i was pretty disappointed. Love everything about this place. They have so many colors of gel and such great employees. Everyone there is so nice and really accommodating. Very friendly atmosphere, super clean, and great quality acrylic. My gel nails usually last for a month when I get them done here. Never had any problems here. This is the best nail place I have ever been to. From cleanliness, friendliness and service they satisfy me every time.While everyone that works at platinum is friendly, Ike and Tony usually do my nails. They are super accommodating and friendly. If you go in regularly they will learn and remember your name which is nice. I usually get mani pedi and I'm never disappointed. If I can't decide on a color Ike will help me choose one that he knows I like based on my usual. Personally my manicures last awhile and my pedicures last even longer after coming here. I fully recommend Platinum nails to anyone. However since they are so great there is often a wait, I recommend making an appointment if you have somewhere to be or don't like to wait. Read Less

Ive been following this family around for 15 years! I'm so happy they finally have their own salon so I can walk in and not worry if one is busy because they are all amazing!! I would give 5 stars but I feel like they are very expensive. I got a regular fill and polish no gel finish no shellac just regular acrylic with regular polish and it was 25.00. I still can't get over it that's why I had to write a review. I think the most I ever paid for a fill was 22.00 and that was for a pink (for pink and white) most fills are 17 or 18.00 so I probably won't go back which is sad because I really liked them.OK now I'm re doing my review. all my nails have lifted my sister already had to get hers redone we are not happy AT ALL!!!!
