This post is for the bridesmaid makeup that I received this past weekend for a wedding I was in. Overall, it was really disappointing. I spent the extra money to get airbrush and was very dissatisfied. The makeup was not set after application and nothing was blended in. There was no contouring, highlight and the blush was nonexistent. I had to ask for a lot of things and additionally I had to ask the lady twice to blend in my eye makeup because it looked that bad. My eye liner was not blended in and was uneven. I even asked her to set my under eye with powder because of my dark circles and she failed to do it. The worst part was when she used eyeliner on my eyebrows and cover girl mascara on my lashes. Seriously?? Not professional and not what I paid for. I've gotten my makeup done for weddings quite a bit and this was the worst application I've had thus far. I am not normally the one to post bad reviews but I left there really disappointed and felt I wasted my money. I could have done a better job doing my own makeup. I would not recommend them for bridesmaid makeup. I did get my hair done here and it looked really good. I would recommend them for bridal/bridesmaid hair....just not makeup. The employees here are extremely friendly and welcoming, but their makeup services are lacking. Read Less

I've been putting off getting my haircut because I was growing it out and hesitant to try a new salon after moving to the area!I am always nervous because I have coarse, Asian hair, and usually go to a salon in Chinatowns or Koreatowns (usually in Chicago or other large cities when I travel) since they are more familiar with Asian hair texture, but took a chance on Reva!! :) Impulsively, I decided to get my haircut today and was able to schedule an appointment with Lana for the same day! Reva is top notch in my opinion. I've been with my stylist, Gwen for 8 years now. While she is my fav,(we all have one) all the stylists at Reva go above and beyond for their clients. JoAnna, Richele, and Amanda came on-site for my wedding in St. Joseph to do hair and makeup for me and my big wedding party (8 bridesmaids and the mothers of the bride/groom). I live in Chicago and had limited time to schedule a trial; Reva was very flexible and fit me in outside of salon hours. I was nervous since there weren't many wedding party reviews, but after the trial I knew that I made the right decision (I looked flawless).  JoAnna was great to work with and made me feel comfortable (did all scheduling and communications through her).  On the day of the wedding, the Reva team showed up on-time, really listened to what everyone wanted (even offering suggestions),and made the whole wedding party look amazing. We all got compliments all night long! I will be tagging my wedding pictures to their salon once they are in so everyone can see the amazing work they did. JoAnna and Amanda came on-site to do hair and makeup in New Buffalo for myself and my wedding party. Everything about there services were fantastic, from the communication on booking  (I live in Chicago so I did a lot of phone and email communication) , to setting up the hair and makeup trial, and ending with the day-of services. They were on-time, professional, and made us all look AMAZING for my wedding day! I was so worried about my hair looking great because I always wear it the same way, but Amanda talked things over with me, looked at my suggestions, and came up with a gorgeous hairstyle for me which lasted into the wee hours of the night through a lot of dancing! Everyone was very friendly, but the quality of my cut and color was seriously lacking. I asked for an ombre and got chunky highlights. Multiple people have actually asked me if I did them myself. I also asked for long layers and I got a boxy, blunt cut that is all one length. I even showed photos of what I wanted. I've never felt so bad about my hair. I have already spent $50 at Affinity salvaging the cut and will be spending more next month getting the color fixed. Read Less

I'm new in town and I got my hair done by Jena. I'm trying to grow my hair out, and I had some longer subtle layers in it. I told her I needed a trim and she asked if I wanted her to shape up the layers and I said yes, I wanted to keep the layers. She cut more than I would have liked in length and she took my layers and cut them four inches above where the rest of my hair falls, and my ends are now very thin! The layers are not very well blended and it looks like I am wearing a wig over the rest of my hair. The salon itself looks very nice, but this experience was awful. Read Less

I love this salon! I've been regularly visiting for a few years. I always go to Haley because she's younger and is really great at keeping up with current trends (although everyone there is fantastic!). For my wedding I booked through JoAnna who was wonderful! Super helpful and set me up with Haley for my hair (gorgeous!) and Rachele (who was unbelievably sweet! So considerate, kind, and professional) to do my make up. Hubby and I each got 90 min massages. Let me rave about Nicole. I had a hot stone w her. I have had massages in Chicago, California, Florida, and Missouri before. I literally told the owner that I've never really had a real massage until I had one with Nicole. I even said I would drive the 90+ miles from Chicago each way just to get a massage w Nicole. I didn't live in st joseph and did not have time to do trial at different hair salons. I solely relied on the ONE good review I found online for Reva Salon and Spa. Other hair salons did not have any reviews and one other Salon had a single bad review; so I used a little logic and called Reva  Salon. They were wonderful. Joanna is really friendly and easy to work with. I had 3 bridesmaids and my mom so for the 5 of us Joanna came with Jenna. They came to us and were on time, had everything needed, were super nice, professional and caring. We all loved our up-do's.Overall I am super happy with their service and totally recommend them. I got married in Michigan in June.  I was skeptical to use Reva because I couldn't find any reviews on hair that they had done for weddings, but then again I couldn't find reviews for ANYONE in the St. Joe's area for wedding day services.  After a trial with Joanna I decided to use Reva for their on-site day of hair/makeup services.  They sent four women to our lake house the morning of the wedding and everything was great.  They were on time and brought the salon to us.  Joanna is just fantastic and easy to work with.  She really listens to what you want and makes it happen.  They also sent Beth and Haley who I would also recommend.  Everyone who got their hair done by Haley absolutely loved it!  Stephanie was sent also but I would be hesitant to recommend her.  She made multiple rude comments and even made a few people whose makeup she was doing very uncomfortable.  For example, we were told to come hair unwashed and no makeup on, after all we were paying to get our makeup done.  Well Stephanie was just appalled that some of the girls didn't have their own primer or foundation with them.  Hello, we were paying you to do the makeup I didn't realize I had to tell my bridal party to bring their own! I was a bit apprehensive to get my hair done at Reva in my small hometown of St. Joseph (yes, I got my hair done here growing up, but I've long ago moved to the "big city").  I'd heard good things about Reva from friends and family members, so I decided to give them a call and scheduled an appointment for a haircut with Melanie while I was home for Christmas.The salon is hidden in the back of the Sandman barbershop (and I also wasn't so sure about due to the location).  Upon my arrival, I initially tried to go into a blocked off side door and quickly found my way to the main entrance.  To say that I was surprised at what greeted me would be an understatement.  If I didn't know better, I would have thought I had entered an upscale "big city" salon.  I was instantly welcomed by the girl at the front desk, and she went to grab Melanie, while I browsed the large selection of Pureology, Redken, Sebastian, and OPI products they had for sale.  Melanie came to get me with a huge smile on her face.  We went back to her station where she examined my hair and asked me what I liked/disliked about my current cut.  She gave me suggestions, and we talked through options, deciding on what sounded best to both of us.  She shampooed my hair as I relaxed with my feet up, and then she proceeded to cut my hair, pleasantly chatting and giving me a "play by play" as she cut.  I have super curly hair so she only partially dried it with the diffuser (to avoid frizz.  Not ideal with the winter weather, but better than the option of being a frizzball.  I didn't have time to sit under the dryer, either, which would have been the ideal option).  Melanie walked me to the front desk, where I promptly checked out.  And I was thrilled with how affordable the cut was!This was a pleasant salon experience, and a month later I'm still happy with the cut.  And the best part: Melanie did not pressure me to buy any product AT ALL!  She did inquire as to what I currently use on my hair and gave me a couple of tips as to how to use it, but she didn't try to sway me into switching products.  Unheard of for a stylist and much appreciated!
