I have been to this salon twice. Both experiences were good. Took off the roughness which felt so good. My friend and I had the worst pedicure we have ever had! They rubbed our toes so hard when trying to take off the old nail polish. Not relaxing! Hardly soaked our feet. Didn't take off rough skin. Didn't file toe nails. New nail polish was put on so fast they didn't paint the entire toe nails. We spent more time drying our toes then the actual pedicure. I've gone to this salon several times and have had good and bad experiences. This last time I went the manicure with shellac didn't go so well. I tip fairly Good ( over 25%) and my nail polish was bubbly and she missed some spots when she was painting. They are understaffed and not the friendliest except for one gentlemen in particular. Nails care may not look like much from the outside, but believe me when I say it is a WONDERFUL salon. Twin City Nails cancelled my appointment on me and Nails Care accommodated my group at the last minute. Not only were they kind and accommodating, they were super friendly and funny! Visiting the country from England to attend my best friend's wedding and was looking for a place to get a pedicure. I found this place from Google and what a fantastic gem it is! The staff were friendly, they fit me in straight away and the massage was out of this world. I'm sure that he had magical fingers! Nails Care to the rescue! My cousin got married recently and we had appointments with another salon the day before the wedding to do manis and pedis. Unfortunately with all of the errands we had to run that day, we were going to be late for our appointment. The other salon was rude and told us to not come in. We had to find another salon in a pinch and Nails Care got us in (all 4 of us) with no problems. The staff was super friendly and they did a great job in a short amount of time. June 26, 2015 Just got my nails done for my wedding! Horrible experience! My nails look like crap!! I got the French tip and I had them re-due a few of them because they were so bad! The lady who did my nails and toes was literally on her phone the whole time! She was calling people, she was checking her messages, she was texting people, and she was on Facebook! How rude I'm the bride to be and you couldn't stay off your phone to do my nails and toes! I should of walked out but I was giving them a chance since it was my 1st time here! I would of been better off getting them done back home 3hrs away they still would of looked better after a week than they do now! Please don't go here especially if you are a bride! One of the worst experiences I've encountered!!! They also didn't want to give me my deposit back because I didn't have the exact amount of girls that I originally told them. I understand where they were expecting more people and pushed back a few appointments but they still had people waiting when they walked in and they weren't even busy. One of my friends had to wait a little so the guy could fix a lady's nail that came in because it was messed up! Which is fine but don't complain about me not having the correct amount of girls when you didn't dedicate your time for our appointment. I'm actually glad I didn't have all my girls get their nails done here! So they wanted me to pay $65 to get my nails and toes done plus my $50 deposit. Seriously $115 to get my nails and toes done that looked like crap! I literally wanted to cry! They made me feel horrible in front of my bridesmaids and friends. They never mentioned anything to me on the phone about keeping my deposit if not everyone showed up. After arguing with them for a while they finally only made me pay $15 which I still think is a rip off for how bad my nails looked. I know there will be a lot of upcoming weddings and brides looking for places to get their nails done in St. Joseph but please do not go here I don't want anyone to have the same experience I had. Sigh. Oh nails care. Where to start?I want to like this place but every time I come here it just seems to get worse and worse. The people employed here are very friendly and pleasant, but the quality of their work and products they use is really not up to par. Add on top of it that this place really isn't the cleanest (its carpeted and there were bits of nails all over the floor at the station I sat at) and it makes it harder to justify coming back. Honestly the only reason I do come here is because of their hours - being open after work until 7, taking walk-ins - and because the other salon I like to go to is closed seasonally. Last time I went I asked for a shellac manicure. The polish they used was very obviously old and had gotten too thick to go on smoothly, and the UV lightboxes they used were flimsy cheap ones that looked like one you could have picked up from walgreens, yourself. After a few coats I noticed one looked a little bumpy and told my tech - she added another coat and had me dry it again under the light, then she cleaned me up and I was done. No hand massage either. I don't know if this was because it was the end of the day and she was tired but usually this is something all salons around here throw in at the end of a manicure. After I left I put on my gloves and headed home. When I got there I realized the gel had never full cured so my nails still felt slightly sticky and weren't smooth and shiny like a gel manicure usually is. For $30 I felt ripped off and decided I would just have to paint over it with normal polish. Such a waste of time and money.Again, this review is in no way meant to tear down the ownership or workers there - I always enjoy seeing them, but they really need to step up their game if they want to be an attractive option for customers in the area and for tourists. I MUCH prefer going to Twin City Nails. While the owner there can be...well...very vocal and sassy...I much prefer their work and clean environment over this place any day! This was the worst nail salon I've ever been to! The day before my wedding I went to get pink and white gels and a pedicure with a couple of my bridesmaids. They rushed through our pedicures and my pink and white set looks awful. I already had one chip off and it hasn't even been 48 hours. It was not worth the $75 I spent. the girls were also very unhappy. Three hours after getting her manicure my MOH's nails were still wet and she ended up redoing them herself!  I'll never be back! I had a very bad experience with the lady who waxed my eyebrows. She failed to get all the hair by the bridge of my nose and on the outer part of my lids. She suggested I grow some parts out a bit (saying the lady next door who threads threaded too much off). I can't see close up very well so I waited until I got home to check with a magnifying mirror. There was so much hair left! I went back the day after and she was very rude, saying she told me to grow my inner corners out. When I told her that it wasn't that that I was complaining about she kept shaking her head. She didn't even wax to correct, she just plucked. She plucked so fast and hard that it hurt and she took some skin. I was so upset that I just left. I will never go back and would discourage anyone from ever going there for waxing. Read Less

I can't believe no one has reviewed this place yet!!!!!!  It is hands down the best place in the area to get your nails done!  I have tried tons of places, including many salons in Ann Arbor since I go to school there, but nothing ever tops nails care.  They do an amazing job and are super friendly and the salon is kept neat and clean, and the plush leather back-massaging chairs you sit in for pedicures are the perfect way to unwind.  My favorite technician for mani/pedi's is Phil who is hilarious and does an amazing job.  But if you are looking to get acrylic or gel nails done, you MUST see Lisa.  While other places I've gone to have given me faux nails that look glaringly fake, chip easily, etc, my nails have always looked perfect after Lisa has done them and they wear like IRON.  I went on a three week vacation and they stayed perfectly.  Not to mention that because she did such a great job tapering off the base of the gel nail, the new growth was barely noticeable.  Don't waste your time or money at other salons.  I know Nail Tech salon gets a lot of hype, and for a long time it was my go-to salon, but ever since my first visit to Nail(s) Care I haven't bothered going back.
