If I could give my experience 0 stars, I would. It’s my junior prom and I have never had a worst experience with a service, than I did with Amber. I asked for a full half up, half down, and in the process, my hair was ripped out and I was burned with the curling iron 3 times ( I had to run to get burn cream because they are on my face, huge and swollen). My hair was flat to my head and after I repeatedly told her my hair needed to stay curled all day, she curled them all out completely. I have never cried harder than when I had gotten into my car and had seen the disaster I now had to deal with, knowing I would have to fix it looking at it in the chair, but I just wanted to run away from her chair as fast as I could. I called my other hair girl at sola and she quickly fit me in. She fixed the mess beautifully and I can say this is the best hair style I have had, thanks to Sam at Sola! The ladies at the spa are great! The receptionist worked very hard to get my daughter and I appointments for hair and nails VERY last minute as a birthday surprise for my 10 year old. They greeted her with "happy birthdays" the minute my daughter walked in. My nails and hair turned out great, as well as my daughter's. They treated my daughter with respect and excitement, which a lot of salons won't do for a child. She was paired with very bubbly and chatty nail tech and stylist, perfect for a kid. VIP Is by far the best Salon Downriver. The staff is amazing, Words cant even describe my hair stylist Ashley. She is a miracle worker, she put her heart and soul in my hair. Here is my Story. I was recommended to VIP through Borics, cause I needed hair extensions installed for my bachelorette party. I met with Ashley, she went over the different types of extensions, the pro and cons. I like that, I wanted choose what was best for me. I decided to go with the Micro bead exte...nsions. Ashley worked out her schedule and squeezed me in, I had also arrange my schedule too. If I wanted this done, asap. We had to order the hair, which I payed extra for to overnight it. The morning of my appt, Fedex was suppose to drop off my extensions at 8:30. They came earlier when the Salon wasn't open, left a note and said they can drop it off at 4pm. We needed them sooner, a Vip staff member drove to Romulus to pick up my extensions. Thats more then customer service, I say. I had know idea all this was going on. Til I came in at 12:45. Which I was 15min late for. She got my going with a wash, and let the work begin. Normally it takes 2-3 hours to install hair extensions. But because my hair is short and thin and fine. It would be difficult to do, also my hair is layered short on top. Ashley is the kind of person that puts perfection in her work. You can tell she is passionate at what she does, she is honest and fair to her customers. Her goal was to make my hair perfect and me happy. She stayed late, the installation took longer then expected. But after everything was done. My hair looked fabulous, you cant get better then that. Been having my nails done here for years. Very nice girls, always smiling and friendly. Beautiful atmosphere and a couch seating area instead of those hard metal chairs at the cheap places. I will say it's a little more expensive but worth it! They have never cut me (as many cheap places left me bleeding) take their time, and have a wide variety of services. Read Less

It was our first time there. It was pretty busy. Beautiful place. I got a massage. I didn't like that the massage rooms were near the employee chat room.. so it was loud. Also, I had to use the restroom.. but they only had one. With as many people as they had there.. I waited about 15 minutes & there were others waiting after me. This was my first visit to VIP I was greated very professionally. Kim was very nice and explained the process step by step,my hair was half white/grey the other half a faded out blonde . I had my Wedding 7-15-2017! They did a Great Job! Me & the ladies decided to try this Salon. My Sister suggested it! I absolutely love Brittany. I have been going to her for over a year and there's no one else I'd rather see. She really listens to what you want and makes it happen. We've had quite a journey going from jet black hair to blond and it looks absolutely amazing now. I couldn't have asked for a better stylist. She doesn't hack off you hair or just do her own thing. Had my hair done here for 2-3 years. Very nice in the beginning and always professional . However in the past six months the atmosphere has not been the same. I do not ask for special treatment but I expect to be treated as special. I tip very well and I do not appreciate being hurried out of the salon.  Also, the gal who had been doing my hair became very lackadaisical about covering my roots. The end was when my "touch up" lasted 5 days. I then went to a different salon where the gal asked if I had let my hair go a little longer than usual (like 32-34 days). I told her it had been 9 days! Also, you really need to get some decent help when it comes to washing the customer's hair. These ladies do not like to dig in and wash your hair or get underneath in the back. If you want to protect your manicure then don't do the job of washing hair. Useless. Needless to say I am now going elsewhere. I actually saved $20.00 this last time for the same services--except the people at this new salon actually did a thorough and great job. Read Less

The salon is very nice, and very pricey. I used to get my nails done there, and loved it! I got my hair done once, paid over 200 and will never do it again. Got a massage a few times there but the massage area is in the front of the building and all you hear is semi's and cars. Not very relaxing. I do love their pedicures though Read Less

I absolutely LOVE this salon!  Here is why:1. Sherry is one of the best hair stylists I have ever been to!  (She is really good with highlights and she knows how to "trim" hair when you want to grow it out). Plus, she is super friendly.  I mean, I fly in from San Francisco, California for her. Enough said.2. I've had my hair done in an up-do for a wedding, Loved it.3. I've had my nails done there & no one talks about me in another language with another nail tech across the room.  They pay attention to you :)4. They use Moroccan Oil products in the salon.5.  The staff at the front desk are always friendly & helpful.They also do make-up and massages here.  And, they provide coffee, tea, or water for free.  I'm having my wedding party of 10 get their hair done here next summer.Here is one last tip:  Bring cash for tips, you can't add it to your credit card when you pay.  If you forget to bring Ca$h with you, there is an ATM inside the salon.
