I am 7 months pregnant and I have a 19 month old at home so on my vacation I booked a spa pedicure and a facial so I could have a couple relaxing hours to myself. Once I arrived, the receptionist was not very friendly or welcoming at all. But the lady who was doing my pedicure came out to get me and she had a pleasant demeanor and brought me back to the private room. About halfway through the service we hear a knock at the door- the receptionist found a problem with gift certificates I had and proceeded to question me as I was LAYING on the massage table. After engaging in a conversation with her, my massage was continued followed by the rest of the pedicure but I was so upset because I was trying to relax and it left me fuming the rest of the service. When I was done I walked to the receptionist area and was told they would not honor the certificates so I ended up paying out of pocket. I could not believe how unprofessional it was to completely interrupt the service instead of waiting until I was finished to approach the issue. I attempted to speak to the owner about the experience I had received and after waiting a week he finally called me but was so focused on the certificates instead of why I truly wanted to speak to him which was about the way I was treated during the spa service. A service that they describe on their website “Our clients have stated that the ambiance, professionalism, and personal touches have truly enhanced their spa experience” His professional responses included: “what do you want me to do, fire her?” “If you’re in such a tizzy from her interrupting the service I don’t know how to help you” and my favorite “what exactly do you want from me?” to which I replied that the only thing I was looking for was an apology over the entire matter. Although my review of his business doesn’t matter as he told me that he has been in business for 19 years and it didn’t care if I let my friends and family know how I was treated.

I tried Spa on the Lake for a first time recently.
If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to have a massage this isn't the place for you. I could hear the receptionist discuss her personal life with someone in the waiting area for most of my appointment.
The massage therapist needs to improve on her communication and customers service skills however the massage was fine but I can get the same massage elsewhere so it is very highly likely that I will not return.

I'm a little late on my review, but better late than never. I received a facial back in December. My first facial ever, so I did not know what to expect. I would say it was a pleasant experience and I could really tell a difference in my skin when I left. I do feel it was a bit pricey, but if I can see results I would say it's worth it. Coming out of this cold dry winter I will be making another appointment for sure.

There was no value on the gift certificate but it was to be redeemed for a Swedish massage. After the massage I went to redeem my gift certificate they asked me for extra money and said there was an increase in price recently. The gift certificate was purchased for $90.00 and they now wanted $100.00. (Tacky and Greedy) If I buy someone a gift for a service I would not expect them to have to pay additional money. I would be embarrassed to find out my gift was not honored and the gifted had to pay more. Good thing I had cash on me. The massage was just OK. Bad vibes from the lady who charged me additional money.
Would not purchase anyone a gift of service here. Its Smelly inside too.

Today I had a bad experience at this nail salon. I had a new technician that I've never seen before. In the end, they charged me more than usual for my Dip powder nails. I have been coming here for three years and have always paid the same price for the same thing. I asked for the owner, who I know and have spoken to before and I was told that there is a new owner. He told me that I had to pay $5 extra just for naturally having long nails. They are very rude and they don't respect the prices they have posted. For me, this is the last time I will be going there. They have bad attitudes and do not care if they lose customers. The bottom line is, they lost two valuable customers today, my daughter, who has been complaining about the service for months now and myself. So I wish them good luck.

This was my first time to come to the salon.I live in Texas and was here on a business trip and needed a pedicure. they were very nice to me but my tonails ended up being jagged my massage on my legs lasted about 10 seconds on each leg and I was hearded in and out like cattle. I won't be going back

I'm very disappointed because my Nexgen Dip nails are popping off after 2 weeks and I don't work, clean or do dishes. I'm in bed disabled 80% of the time. This has happened to me for the last 3 months...

Went to True Nail Spa on Saturday 1/21/17 for a pedicure. Decided to splurge and get the "fancy" one. The worst pedicure I have ever received. I paid extra money as a treat to myself and I paid more for nothing. The lady next to me started before me and she got the basic pedicure. I was done before her and I was suppose to have the more intense pedicure. REALLY. Don't waste your money here.

I have been going to this place for three years. I went today and there was a woman who did my nails, who coughed all over my wet feet and I saw the spit from her mouth go onto my feet. She didn't remove all the previous nail polish. She didn't trim cuticles she didn't do half of what she was supposed to do. They still made me pay for it. I am so angry. That woman had such attitude. No one should come and pay for that kind of treatment.

I was looking for a place to get a facial and eyebrows done close to home since moving to the area. The first facial and waxing experience I had was great a couple of months ago. I went in today and had a different person who I made stop the facial midway through. She was trying to pick the wax she dropped out of my hair and it was painful! When I looked in the mirror a gob of wax was in my hair which I know was an accident but then I also had uneven eyebrows that were too thin and I said please stop I want this to be over. Total disaster, not relaxing, painful, disappointed. Now I have to hope the eyebrows grow back so I can try to have them fixed. And hope the wax comes out of my hair. Oh and I was still charged for half a facial. I left in tears because I felt and look terrible.

AMAZING. I have been going to this spa since it was located on Lake Orion and have had nothing but great experiences. I have had several deep tissue massages and a few pedicures. I never request a specific person so I have worked with many and always come out feeling like I could run a marathon! Today, I tried ashiatsu (barefoot) massage with Kay because I have been having lower back pain and I feel INCREDIBLE. Their spa is beautiful and clean and the staff is always courteous and professional. Highly recommend! I would give 5 stars if they greeted you at the door with a mimosa ;)

DONT GO HERE!!!! The most rude, snobby and unprofessional spa I have ever been too. I'm an esthetician of 5 yrs and I did not receive the treatment I asked for. The woman who worked on me did not know what she was doing and she practically smothered me in rubbing alcohol rags. All they wanted from me was to buy skincare products from them. They didn't care about my personal well being or my skincare concerns. They made you feel obligated to leave a tip. Extremely disrespect. Worst experience of my life!!!!!

Tried this nail salon over the weekend. Not very warm welcome when my cousin and I walked in the door. Nevertheless, we proceeded with the services. Two pedicures please. Our pedicures were very short, not much of a foot massage as i've grown accustomed to and the lady although pleasant was very rough with positioning my feet. The caucasian girl who appears to manages the place took my cousin's credit card and asked across the room in front of the other customers the amount of tip my cousin wanted to add. I found this tasteless. what she decides to leave for tip is not everyone's business. I don't think i was as bothered by this until it was time to leave and not one person said bye, the culmination of all these things makes it likely i would not return

You have no idea what you are missing and it is much better than the franchise massage in Lake Orion and Rochester that is no more than a back rub!! No pressure and no up sell job going on here. Early January I visited Spa On The Lake to have my eyebrows done. I have no eye brow hair at all and was really very exhausted with drawing them on every morning, since I work anytime from 6am-8am. I also work with water, all day, so this also caused a problem when it came to drawn on eyebrows.Well, I still draw my eyebrows on because I received crooked and completely uneven eyebrows that I can't stand. In no way are they similar and don't look ok. Anyone that's seen them has immediately pointed out their differences and said one is much higher, which I agree with, among other things. I'm just upset and disheartened that not only do I still have to draw them on, but underneath is something I'm not proud of. Unhappy customer.

Than at the end there was nail polish all over my skin.. When I asked him to clean it please.. He said I was difficult.. I was complaining and they didn't care.. I would never ever recommend them.. I visited Schenden's just before leaving for a vacation because I needed some last-minute services performed. As a broke college student I was initially discouraged by their slightly higher prices, but the kind receptionist went out of her way to make me feel welcome and even offered a slight discount on one of my services to encourage me to stick around and give them a try. I ended up having more services done than I'd originally planned and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. My aesthetician was named Sonja and she did a wonderful job. I would definitely go back again thanks to the fantastic service I received!

I tried Spa on the Lake for a first time recently.
If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to have a massage this isn't the place for you. I could hear the receptionist discuss her personal life with someone in the waiting area for most of my appointment.

Our pedicures were very short, not much of a foot massage as i've grown accustomed to and the lady although pleasant was very rough with positioning my feet. The caucasian girl who appears to manages the place took my cousin's credit card and asked across the room in front of the other customers the amount of tip my cousin wanted to add. I found this tasteless. what she decides to leave for tip is not everyone's business. I don't think i was as bothered by this until it was time to leave and not one person said bye, the culmination of all these things makes it likely i would not return

Fantastic relaxing day at our local spa! Beth does a fantastic job and comes highly recommended. Please don't hesitate to call for an appointment. You have no idea what you are missing and it is much better than the franchise massage in Lake Orion and Rochester that is no more than a back rub!! No pressure and no up sell job going on here. I will be returning. Thanks Beth!!!

Early January I visited Spa On The Lake to have my eyebrows done. I have no eye brow hair at all and was really very exhausted with drawing them on every morning, since I work anytime from 6am-8am. I also work with water, all day, so this also caused a problem when it came to drawn on eyebrows.Well, I still draw my eyebrows on because I received crooked and completely uneven eyebrows that I can't stand. In no way are they similar and don't look ok. Anyone that's seen them has immediately pointed out their differences and said one is much higher, which I agree with, among other things. I'm just upset and disheartened that not only do I still have to draw them on, but underneath is something I'm not proud of. Unhappy customer.

They rushed through the pedicure.. They didn't even clean my toe nails.. When I said something to him he ignored me and I was cleaning my toes with my finger.. Than at the end there was nail polish all over my skin.. When I asked him to clean it please.. He said I was difficult.. I was complaining and they didn't care.. I would never ever recommend them.. Worst pedicure I have received by far!!! There is so much competition you should take care of your customers!!!!!!

I visited Schenden's just before leaving for a vacation because I needed some last-minute services performed. As a broke college student I was initially discouraged by their slightly higher prices, but the kind receptionist went out of her way to make me feel welcome and even offered a slight discount on one of my services to encourage me to stick around and give them a try. I ended up having more services done than I'd originally planned and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. My aesthetician was named Sonja and she did a wonderful job. I would definitely go back again thanks to the fantastic service I received!
