The shop is ok. Service is sketchy depending on who you get. I went here for almost a year, which goes to show it isn't all bad. But after noticing things like them not greeting me when I walked in (but greeting others), or having to wait forever for shellac while the 4 people who came after me were serviced first, I began to feel taken advantage of as a customer. And quite frankly discriminated against. The shop has customers of all backgrounds, but it is very apparent their treatment of some customers is different than others. I tried to make it work here as long as I could, but I honestly can't get continue to give my money to an establishment that makes me feel unwanted, uncomfortable, and unappreciated as a customer. Not to mention the way the women hound you for cash tips! After a year of tipping at least 20% EVERY TWO WEEKS, I don't think I need a reminder to tip in cash. A proper hello when I walk in though would be very much appreciated.
I vowed 2 weeks ago that would be my last time in this particular shop. I'd rather shop around and look for a new nail shop where I feel comfortable and my patronage is appreciated. There's a nail shop across the street, Tulip Nail and Spa. I will be trying them today and hoping I'll have a much better experience. Read Less

If I could give this no stars that's what I would do. Used to be such a great place to go. Owner doesn't care about her customers anymore and the people she has working there are terrible. I was cut twice (with the toe nail clippers - under my nail - talk about pain) and then scraped on two different toes with the sander. I still have a large mark on my baby toe from the one scrape. The girl doing my nails did about as good a job as if my three year old had done it for me. Didn't even cut my cuticles. Terrible.I have been going there for over 6 years, even with the previous owners, but I will NEVER to back again. TERRIBLE. Anywhere would be better than this place. Save your money and do it yourself. It would look just as nice and you won't cut yourself because you may actually care. Should have asked for a refund. Read Less

Get ready for a story...I buy a Groupon -- I was in dire need of a mani and pedi. Novi Nails has this great Groupon which can only be used Monday - Wednesday. No biggie, its takes a few calls to finally secure an appt but I brush it off assuming they are busy. On the day of, I plug their address into my phone's navigation and off I go. I wasn't too concerned that Novi nails didn't have a yelp listing -- I figured that they maybe new and it hasn't been set up yet. Navigation takes me about 1/2 mile past this place to an office park. I knew it couldn't be right so I turn around and pull into a place with a place called Noni nails....weird. Turns out Noni nails' address is the same address listed on my Groupon for Novi nails. Strike one for the confusing ordeal. Why change the business name but not the sign? I go in. Owner immediately snags the Groupon out of my hand. I brush it off...I assume she is eager to make sure every Groupon is accounted for. I pick out my colors and proceed to my pedicure chair. There, a girl waits for me with very limited english. She does a pretty good job on my pedicure despite some weirdness with the filing. While sitting for my pedi, owner comes around again to see if she already got my Groupon -- I get the questions but is it necessary when there are literally 2 customers in the salon (meaning there were two Groupons to keep track of for that afternoon)? I still wasn't annoyed yet, but I think its still a definite WTF moment. Next, I'm taken to the owner's manicure station for my shellac mani. Now, this is where I start getting annoyed. We all know that many of the local salons are owned and operated by native Vietnamese speakers. Often, you will hear the nail techs speak to each other in their native language. I have no beef with it. I also speak a second language and may use it in public if its easier for the person I'm with. It also goes without saying that if they are speaking another language, they may be talking about you. Fine. I get it. You want to talk about me or other customers in your native language then do it -- just don't be so damn obvious about it. And that is what happened here. It was clear-as-day obvious that the owner was making snide comments about how I asked my nails to be filed, and about another customer -- it was all about her tone of voice along with the sprinkling of english words into the conversation. It was unprofessional and, frankly, made me feel uncomfortable and uneasy. She wasn't the nicest either. She only tried to be more personable after I mentioned a business card that I saw on her counter for Pho Lucky (a Vietnamese restaurant that I really like). The whole exchange was fake and left me feeling icky. And the worst thing was that the shellac manicure was shitty. I had a chip within two days. It was peeling off within 5 days --- I wasn't too pleased seeing that I've had shellac at other places last up to three weeks depending on the application process. So Novi/Noni nails (whatever the name is)...Thanks for the Groupon deal but I won't be returning. I'm assuming with the confusion, the shitty manicures and the sour attitude of the owner that many of the other Groupon customers may be one time visitors as well. Read Less
