I made an appointment before my wedding. They couldn't do my nails because they didn't have enough people working. At first they denied that I even had an appointment and I had to show them my name in the book. The owner was rude and not helpful. I had to find another place to do my nails. I went to a different nail salon and the lady put to much gel powder and nail polish on. They fixed my nails and repainted them. I refuse to go anywhere else from now on but the Thai Cottage Spa! I make an appt last wk for a wedding party and walk in and they look at us like we are crazy. Then to find out that out of the 4 people here none of them can do anything but manicures? This is best salon I've too in Muskegon. I have continued and will keep going. This is the only place I ever gotten a pedicure and that won't change either. The only thing I tell people is to make an appointment!! They are almost always busy and don't always have time to fit in a walk in or you might be asked to wait or come back. Read Less

As much as I loved the staff here, I cannot say I was impressed with the job they did to my nails & the waiting.My mom & I made an appointment for 11:40, when we got there our names weren't written down and it was very unorganized. We finally got to start at around 12:00, but only one lady was doing our nails. So as I was getting mine done, my mom was sitting there for a good hour before anyone got to her nails. When I was done with my pedicure I was taken to go get my fingernails painted with shellac. The lady that did them, I felt was so stressed and wasn't doing a very good job. They looked pretty good when I left the shop, but as soon as I got home I realized they were extremely blotchy & started peeling the next day. With my research, shellac is supposed to last 2-3 weeks, but mine didn't last for even a DAY. Read Less

My boyfriend and I went in for pedicures (his 1st time) and I also got a manicure with shellac. We made an appointment the night before and when we arrived got seated within 5 minutes. I absolutely love the set up for the pedicures. The seats are separated from the manicure section so it's super relaxing. They were also playing what looked like Discovery with an ocean documentary (the other salon I go to plays CNN so this was so much better). We got the luxury pedicure which was worth it! My boyfriend loved the massage chairs. She did a great job on my manicure also! She asked if I wanted to add the glitter to all or just my ring finger. I asked her what she thought and she said just the ring so we went with that. So glad we did because it would have been too much for me. Very nice shop. I had a nail disaster out of state and Tony was able to do overlays to allow my natural nails to grow out. This is my 3rd fill here and I'm pretty pleased with the results. Not the best experience, My husband made reservations for my birthday for a massage and a facial. We were passing through and when we arrived we were told the person that does facials wouldn't be in for two hours and could we come back (Umm NO) on the bright side the massage therapist was available so I got a 60 min massage....average, although she was VERY nice. I enjoyed talking to her, but I was there for a facial and massage not to talk. The ONLY reason we made reservations at this place was because of the great reviews, Well any place that doesn't call in advance to tell you there is a problem with your appointment is not a place I would visit again, It was a wasted trip in my opinion! So happy to find an amazing nail salon in Muskegon! I have been to numerous nail salons and my nails always look good initially and then chip pretty regularly within a day or two. At this salon I felt like the manicurist were detail oriented and both times I have gone they take a few extra moments after each layer to reevaluate everything  and have fixed and reified Cowen if they felt it wasn't us to their standard. Just had a mani/pedis here and it was fabulous. Pleasant, quiet environment. The spa is tasteful, elegant yet simple. I got their manicure for only $14 and best pedicure with massage, scrub etc. For $36. Regardless pedi is $27.  Really, really nice and I highly recommend this place. I happened upon this very peaceful salon while in the Lakes Mall area today. Actually using YELP for my choice, I was welcomed as a "walk-in" and given an exceptional pedicure by the owner, Mala. The salon is very clean, pleasant and had soft music.  The chairs are comfy and the tubs use disposable liners for cleanliness. I would highly recommend this salon. Read Less

After lots of searching around, two of us landed here for vacation nail treatments.  The lovely owner greeted us, wanted to understand what we were really wanting and set us up.  During our treatments she came back and offered us drinks.  Fantastic, detail oriented and friendly nail tech who not only have a great polish but also fantastic leg massage with foot reflexology.  So clean.  Give this place your business!!  $41 for luxury treatment, gel polish and designs.
