First time visit on Thursday. I loved it! Very clean. Very personable. I can understand the techs! I actually had a conversation with Linda! Not once did any of them have a conversation in their own language and have inside jokes, which makes me feel uncomfortable at other salons. I came Star Nails on Tuesday with my friends. This place was amazing! From the moment i stepped in i was greeted by the owner. Staff made color blocking on my nails very beautiful. I've been coming to Star Nails in Norton Shores for my nail for quite some times now. I have never left disappointed. They're awesome from beginning I came. My usual is a gel manicure with a regular pedicure. They did my nails thoroughly and carefully. The service is always top notch. I did book another appointment for next time. Amazing nail shop ! I went in for shellac and asked for my nails to be cut down. She cut them down to the quick (see picture). As a result, my nails burned and stung for the rest of manicure, which is a stretch calling it that... a quick soak, quick cuticle trim and a quick massage. Read Less

Worst experience of my life! She butchered my nails so bad I am bleeding on every finger and it stings so bad I left crying! And then on top of cutting my fingers and seeing I am bleeding she proceeds to put mail polish remover over my cuts!!!! I will never ever in my life step foot in this hell hole again! Read Less

Went here Saturday to get a shellac manicure and a polish change and after a hour and a half of them working on my nails I finally told them I had to go. Here it is Thursday and my nails are chipping and look worse than when my 5 year old has done them. I'm so mad and upset that I spent a dollar of my money here. I really like this place because it's clean and organized. Also somehow very quiet despite being right on the street. The people are very courteous and professional. I had a massage with Dee and it was probably one of the best massages I have had in a long time. She really worked on my areas that needed attention and especially my arthritic hands. It made a huge difference in my pain and mobility that very afternoon! You should definitely get a massage from her!! The personnel in Star Nails are all very courteous and helpful as well. If I could I would give this place 0 stars! I just had thee worst experience that I've ever had at any nail salon in my life! This was my second time going to Star Nails and on both occasions the service there was poor at best. After my first experience there I swore I wouldn't return but unfortunately I broke a nail and because I have gel polish and wanted my nails to match I was forced to go back. My shape of choice is pointed, before going to Star Nails I was under the impression that that shape was pretty common. Well not at Star Nails, on my first visit I went in for a fill and after being as descriptive as I could complete with pictures and some of my own filing the tech finally got the shape right. When I went in today to get my broken nail repaired first I was treated like I wasn't allowed to touch the gel polish and asked to find a regular polish that looked like the gel I wanted. Thankfully I had some idea on the name of the gel polish that was used so after a bunch of unnecessary confusion I found the color I was looking for.  Secondly I was asked to sit down at a station where the tech was literally picking her feet right before I sat down. The tech removed the remaining polish and the rest of my broken nail and replaced it with a new nail but didn't shape my nail to match the others it was more of a half rounded half pointed shape. She started to polish my nail and I pointed out the difference in shape. Her response was "well next time you don't come back here we don't do that." I literally took the file and filed my nail myself to the correct shape!! I informed the tech that I would be posting about my experience and that I would be reporting them to the bbb. Another patron looked at my nails and said "her nails really are a common shape." Thank you! I would NEVER advise ANYONE to used Star Nails for any service!
