I went to LA Nails yesterday after my regular salon screwed up my overlay. I asked for Tina because once I read the reviews it seemed like everyone loved her work. I called Sat around 2 pm for a 4 pm appointment and got in without a problem. Pros: Clean, friendly, good service, happy with my nails, large nail polish selection, and gave bottled water. I would go back to LA Nails any day and I've referred my friends as well. Just make sure to give extra time but it will be worth the wait. I HIGHLY recommend this place. I have such a HARD time finding a nail salon that doesn't treat you like you are the highest nuisance ever. I had two technicians split their time on my nails and I was more than happy with both of them. They actually talked to me and made jokes and didn't just talk in another language the entire time with their coworkers the whole time. My nails look great every single time and they last 2-3 weeks with basically no chipping. The ladies pay great attention to detail and are super sweet. I usually call ahead to make an appointment but I've walked in a few times and they were always able to accommodate. The manager is especially kind, and has even done my nails herself a few times. At their recommendation, I tried out the dipped nails, and I am so happy with them. They are supposed be healthier, plus no chemical smell. They also look more natural than acrylics. I told them I usually go every 3 weeks for the acrylics, and they said the dipped are guaranteed for 2 weeks. It's been almost 3 weeks now, and they have held up perfectly! Read Less

I've come here a few times to get my nails done and each time i've never been too overly impressed but this last visit was the last time i'll ever give them business. when i first walked in i wasn't greeted instead they have you write your name on a paper to "sign in". there is no further questions like what service you need or even telling you where to pick your color, you have to figure it out. i asked the wait time and was told only 10 minutes but instead waited for about 45 minuets before it was my turn. the only thing the woman who was doing my nails asked me was if i wanted them cut down, i told her just a little bit. my nails were cut in half. i was not happy with the size. my problem with this nail salon in the past is that the second coat of polish is not painted down to the end of the nail, you can see the two different layers. one thing very obvious at this salon is that they push the shellac/gel colors because they try to up sell it along with having VERY FEW choices for normal polish color. i don't recommend coming here unless you like to waste time and money Read Less

I literally don't even know where to begin. I walked in and wasn't even greeted. I was going to get a pedicure and a manicure but ended up leaving after the pedicure because the service was so bad! The person doing my nails never once spoke to me and was watching a YouTube video on a laptop that was behind my chair. Every time I would take my foot out of the water the man would sigh and grunt like it was gross. (It wasnt, I had a pedicure literally a month before this). Came here because I couldn't wait until the next time I went home to get my nails done. It's cute in there, I like the bright green walls and I was started on very quickly. I came in for a gel/schelak manicure. I know that every salon does things different but there were a few things I didn't overly like. First, they didn't wrap my nails and then use a tool to take the gel off, but had me soak my nails in the acetone and then used that electronic tool they use for acrylic nails to take it off. It won't my nails feeling pretty sensitive and weird for a while. The other thing was that I feel like he didn't pull enough of my cuticles. I get a manicure every 2-3 weeks and I always have a lot of cuticle to pull so to see him not pull very much, I already know I'm going to have bad hangnails for the next week or two. Finally, some of the sides of my nails aren't completely covered in the gel and some nails have excess in between my nail and skin. In the end, it's not the same as getting them done back home, but my nails look pretty good and the price was good so if I need to get my nails done in Mount Pleasant again, I'll come back here over somewhere else like Sky.
