I am sitting in this filth of a bar and have watched a patron (obviously knows the bar man or works here but day off) and helped herself to the ice cream that they make cocktails with. She grabbed a spoon and double tipped countless times in the ice cream whilst coughing up a lung. When she was finished the bar man took the tub of ice cream and put it in the freezer before giving the girl a free cocktail. Beautiful location, food was good. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the view and the weather. We were under the impression that all out door dining areas were Non Smoking. Nobody was smoking when we chose our spot at the bench table over looking the Marina. About 20 minutes later a table of 4 arrived and all 4 started smoking. Typically not the type to post reviews on a business, but today was not the most impressive experience. Have gone to salon 101 three times and won't be going back. Today I got a Malibu treatment and French manicure. Hair was fine, just needed to get hard metals out. Nails on the other hand look poor. Every single nail with the exception of two, have a significant gap where there is no filling. They look like they are three weeks old and need to be refilled. In addition to this, the lady, Deanne I believe, maybe said five words to me in the 2+ hours I was there. At one point during the nails (and I don't even know if something needed to dry. As she said nothing) she got on her phone for probably...what seemed like five minutes while I was just sitting there. Very distracted by something or simply doesn't care about her job and making customers feel comfortable and pleased. No attempt to make conversation whatsoever. Poor experience overall. I left leaving her a tip which I didn't feel was necessary, and didn't even get s thank you or anything. Read Less

Had a great Catch up with friends last night at the Sunset bar. The staff were friendly as ever including the bodybuilder/security guard. The only downside is this stuff they've got there called "beer". You kind of get tricked by it's deliciously cold and refreshing taste only to wake up the next day with a tongue as dry as one of Gandhi's flip-flops (thong in Aussie language). The entertainment was good too. We had a DJ cranking out tunes and the Power Rangers strutting their stuff on the dance floor. That's about all I remember. My bank account is now empty. Needs to be updated! There are so many salons in Lapeer let alone in a two mile radius. I have came here a few times for a haircut, occasional color (when my regular stylist was on maternity leave). A little pricey, but excellent service. I got a pedicure, but they have a full hair cutting/coloring area, as well as manicures and a day spa. Obvious that the staff gets continuing education, because their staff is well versed in newer techniques. In old downtown Lapeer, so its worth supporting a local business.
