I have been to this place twice. The first time was wonderful!! I loved the person that who did my nails (don’t know her name) , she was younger, spoke really good English, she made my nails look AMAZING! The second time around, I got Charlie (had I known the girls name, I would have requested for her but I didn’t know her name :( ) .. he was really nice, and I wished I would’ve said something while I was there, but I felt like he was rushing... he also made me bleed while cutting cuticles, didn’t apologize, or made it aware to me that my finger was bleeding.. I only found out because while he sprayed alcohol on it, it was stinging! My polish was awful! Not smooth at all, the top coat didn’t even cover the polished parts... & I tipped him well (had to pay before polish, had I seen the polish after I would t have tipped as much as I did) .. very dissatisfying second experience, I will not be returning. I am in Lansing for several weeks watching our six month old grand-daughter. I googled and read reviews as I do with everything! I could not have been happier with the way I was treated and how lovely my mani/pedi looks! The pedicure was wonderful, along with foot, leg scrub, legs hot rock massaged, followed with warm towel wrap! I like Polished Nails better than my salon at home that I have frequented for 20+ years! Normally I see Julie and I am always pleased, but I saw Anna (owner) this time and was extremely disappointed. Charlie and Anna have usually been very accommodating to my friend and I, but today came off as rather rude. My pedicure was hastily done (15 minutes), and there was no massage given. If you're looking for a fancy salon with ambience and aromatherapy, this isn't the place for you. If you want a great pedicure for less than $30, Polished is a hidden gem. The small strip mall that Polished sits in is a little run down and might turn a newcomer off but I've visited this salon twice and both times the experience did not disappoint. They offer at least 5 or 6 pedicure stations with adjustable massage chairs and multiple options on the controls. The pedicure each time took about 20 minutes and included a foot and leg scrub, hot rock massage, lotion and a warm towel wrap, in addition to the standard pedicure. Short story: experienced horrible customer service in the favor of the client and my nails looked awful and $68 later for acrylic nails still aren't 100% what I asked for after the redo and ones crooked. I won't be returning. Only reason I gave the 2 stars is because of Christina (she didn't perform my service but was who I talked to when I went in) and during the redo she wasn't aggressive with my nails Long story: I came in on a Tuesday at 11:30 asked if they had an appointment. I was told to come back at 1. I was there at 12:45. I asked for almond shape with a design (which I know drives up cost) I told the technician I wasn't picky with the design I wanted something fun. The technician (who I won't name) told me she has done nails for 18 years so I thought I was in good hands. When I left my nails were very lumpy, crooked, and oval. Not almond. The technician was clearly rushing because there was 3 people who had appointments at 1:15 and I believe they realized they overbooked themselves. Then 3 more people came in 2 with appointments 1 was an add on so a total of 6 people. I reached out to them via Facebook who I believe Christina answers. They agreed that the nails were awful and yes offered to redo them but I was nervous they were going to be aggressive with my nails and asked for a refund. They said they don't give refunds but told me that because I wanted almond and a design and didn't tell them when I made the appointment that I wanted that that causes them to run over. I've never had to tell previous nail technicians I wanted that ahead of time. I told them I'd come in within the hour but couldn't do the redo because I had a friend from out of town here. When I came in the gentleman asked if I had an appointment and when I said no I came to talk about my redo. When I said redo he sat down and flipped open his iPad and proceeded to ignore me. I said I just wanted a refund and want to go somewhere else and could have my nails removed or they could clip them so they don't look good (even though they didn't look good to begin with). Was told again they don't give refunds. I told them I'd hate to leave a bad review. His response: do what you have to do.... that blew my mind. Christina then came up and tried resolving the issue and booked me a redo. Thanks Christina. I came in today for my redo. I was nervous because yeah they could jack up my nails. The technician showed me the shape and I just went with it. Which yes I could have told her it still isn't what I wanted but again I was scared she'd become aggressive. They're better. One is still a little wonky but I'll fix it... overall I wouldn't recommend this place and wasn't gonna leave a review but I felt compelled to because of the horrible experience I had and I still don't technically have what I want. I will say the redo was drama free and I did tip her for fixing her mistake because she took the time out of her day. Read Less

Everything about my experience here was very pleasant. The woman doing my gel manicure was quiet, but kind. She did a wonderful job cutting out my cuticles but my only major complaint is the actual paint job is quite sloppy. Otherwise, I was very happy with my experience Read Less

Just moved to Michigan and decided to try this place out as it has great reviews! I was not disappointed! I walked in on a Wednesday after the lunch hour for a mani gel and did not have to wait at all. The technicians were very nice and made sure my nails were to my liking. Favorite nail salon ever! I've tried multiple ones in and around Lansing and I always come back here. They do an excellent pedicure, which I what I usually get. My girlfriend has been coming here for a while now and has been on my case about going with her to get a pedicure. I've never had one before so I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into but I finally gave in and went. It wasn't as girly as I thought it was going to be. They cut and cleaned my nails and made my feet soft. Cool, but the best part was the leg massage. They use hot lotion, hot rocks, and hot towels. Felt good as shit. I realized today that despite Polished being my go to nail salon in Lansing, that I have never written a review. Excellent service every time and I never feel judgment for showing up with unkempt winter feet. Everyone who works here is so friendly, and does excellent high- quality work. I always make an appointment because I have seen so many walk-ins get turned away. I have heard horror stories about larger people getting turned away at some salons (not here) but I have never felt any judgement or negativity from anyone at Polished. Highly recommended! Read Less

This has become my go-to Nail Salon. The staff is sweet, hilarious, and attentive to detail. If you're on a time-crunch, make an appointment; the staff is usually pretty good at sticking to the schedule. I have found that I enjoy the banter that comes from the owner! I came here with my friend after seeing positive reviews on Yelp, and we weren't disappointed! We both got manipedis and they did a great job with everything.The best part was when my friend screwed up her nails at the end while fixing her pant leg, they went back and redid both of her thumbs for her so she would leave looking flawless. This place was recommended to me by a friend. The staff is friendly, asked if I wanted anything to drink.  At my first visit, which was a walk-in, I waited under 10min. I was told that 90% of time they work with appointments.  So the second time I scheduled one.  Probably a mistake because I ended up waiting 45min even though I had an appointment  (should have left). The second time I got the gel manicure it started chipping within few days so I went back to have it fixed. They took $5 off the regular price for gel manicures...for fixing what was not done well in the first place.  Not cool!  I shouldn't have paid anything since it was not my fault. Third visit I got a pedicure. They do a nice job. They give you a foot massage and hot stones are no extra charge.  I was waiting for the polish to dry and the lady said I should be ok to put my shoes back on, it will be OK.   Well I got home and it was not ok. The polish was ruined. I removed and reapplied it myself at home because I didn't want to take the chance of being charged again for the fix.  Even tough the staff is friendly I don't think I will be going back, unfortunately.
