HORRIBLE experience, at first I was happy because she was doing them pretty quickly and they seemed to be looking good, and then when I told her what I wanted she said she couldn't do it and that it was too hard. all it was, was matte black with silver at the base of the nail instead of the tip. but I accepted her saying she was going to do the tips silver. (and I don't like it at all although I've had people say it was cute) And then I told her I have a baby (newborn) so I need them shorter (I was getting a fill) which she DID do and they're short enough but then after getting done they were sooooo sharp in the corners I almost cut my own lip when I went to itch!!! I had to go home and file the corners down to dull them out. and then she rushed me out so fast I barely had time to put my wallet in my purse. overall bad experience and I won't be returning. My sister had recently gone through giving birth and wanted to get a pedicure that was close by just in case her husband needed something. We drove up and saw the pictures in the windows had a faded look. We entered and said that we wanted to get pedicures. There was one person working with a customer. One employee was lounging and the other was walking around. The one who was walking around said that they couldn't give us pedicures because there was not enough time. We went at 1. They had many hours before closing. I found that to be extremely rude. So we went to Escape Nails on West Main and they were fantastic. Avoid Phoenix and go to Escape instead. Read Less

I had a great experience here the other day after deciding to go in 2018 with a nice set of gels.  I'd had some bad luck with another nail salon in town and Phoenix nails had been recommended by a friend.  I wasn't disappointed.  The facility is clean and well cared for.  I went on a Thursday morning around 10 and got right in.  They have a huge selection of colors to choose from.  My manicurist was very friendly, conversational, and she was patient with me when I couldn't make up my mind on what color I wanted to ring in the new year.  My only issue is that she seemed a bit new and so it took a little longer than expected and my nail polish wasn't quite as tidy on a finger or two.  Those issues are nitpicky though, so I would happily return! UPDATE: New full set started lifting after only 3 weeks!!! Had to go buy nail glue... Not even time for a fill yet!Been here twice. Each time I felt that their prices were too high. $27 for a regular pedicure with color and $50 for a full set with gel, not shellac... When I was puzzled about why my full set cost so much I was given some long explanation about the gel powder and the shellac... Very confusing.. If a full set gel is $30 where is the extra $20 coming from? There are bubbles in my gel polish.. Definitely not worth $50. I gave them another chance and still not satisfied. I won't be back. DOAN and his wife are great and very friendly! Make sure you call and make an appointment and you will not have to wait long! Manicures and Pedicures are always the best!! They take their time and are very neat and detailed oriented! I also get my eyebrows done and they always look very good. I may or may not go back. The salon was recomend by a friend and I went to give them a try. My nails did not turn out well at all. But I gave them a 4 star because they are super clean and very well lit. They have an amazing selection of polish to chose from. I'm pretty sure the person who did my nails is new to the game so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. They were super nice too. Went here to "treat" myself & was disappointed. I wanted stiletto nails that weren't extremely pointy  (because not all stilletto shaped nails are alike some appear razor sharp at the tip) but more of a soft point. Walked out with nails that were more of an almond shape and several nails aren't even shaped like the others. I felt like I have wasted my $28 and should have just did them myself at home. Read Less

Very friendly! I've tried a lot of nail places in Kalamazoo and this one is the best! I recommend making an appointment because they like to make sure the quality of the work is done great! My experience here was terrible. I went to get my nails done (acrylic and painted) and while the guy was filing my nail with the electric filer her fell asleep and ripped the skin off of my finger. He continued to fall asleep the whole time he did my nails. The paint wasn't in the creases and the filing was uneven. The acrylic was lumpy. Called to see if they could refund me and the receptionist was very rude and said there was nothing she could do. Avoid at all costs. Read Less

This was a very friendly place. They did a great pedicure although the massage was a little rough. My nails, however, were another story. The man who did them cut my finger and ever since I went there my nails are brittle, dry and splitting. The gel polish didn't even last two weeks. I would not go back. Read Less
