I have been coming to Kim's since she opened her 1st nail salon (a couple doors down from where she currently is now). I have also, over the years, run into former employees who used to do my pedicures. (When I find a good one I only book with that person). I always ask them why they left & the story is the same. Kim loses great help because, according to them, she pushes them to hurry so that she makes more money. They cannot take the stress & do not like the way she treats customers. Everyone is ONLY a dollar sign to her. Sometimes she acknowledges you (but it is fake & forced) & other times she will look right at you & not say a word. When you bring in other guests she is super nice, but otherwise if it's just you she cannot be bothered. There is too much competition for any customer to put up with the poor service. Just OK. My pedicure was over $50 with the gel polish, flower & tip which looked like a star instead of a flower. I ended up coming home & redoing my own. Expensive pedicure for just so so work that I had to redo. I think my tech was new. Poor massage. Also during the pedicure a lady came up to me & said they were trying to win the Register Guard best nail salon & asked if they could vote for me on their tablet. Of course I said yes as I was put on the spot. But it was not the best pedicure. Gets the job done but just OK at best. Read Less

Not only was it the best mani/pedi that I’ve had but the staff is the best! I lost my phone the day before my honeymoon, and I went it after they had already closed and everyone stopped to help and truly cared. They are the sweetest people! I won’t go any where else again! Read Less

Paid 45$ for a set of nails they broke with in the first ten hours! They said they would fix them for 5$ a pop! Umm no you made them to thin, this should never happen. I have been getting my nails done for 13 years and never broken a nail earlier then three weeks. Which is normal this is not... you would think you would want to keep your clients happy!!!! I have had pedicures a couples. Last time was awful. It was a pedicure with my sister in law my tech came 15 mins after my sister in laws and left before my sister law was done. When I got home I realized she didn’t even finish the job. She forgot to clear coat them so they were dull and sticky. There were some things that took place that made me question if she actually had a license to work on nail. I called and complained the next day that they forget the clear coat on the gel toes. I asked for them to be removed and refunded she said okay. I went today and was told sorry no refunds. I will never go back. I will give my money to someone else Read Less

I have only ever had a good experience here. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. They did a full set on my daughter (Billy did them) and they were AWESOME! Tina did my nails and made them look amazing. I would definitely recommend them. Don't listen to all the negative reviews too closely. It's not a fair assessment of the service here. I was in town visiting a friend for the weekend and she suggested City Nails having received quality service in the past. We made an appointment and initially I waited, no biggie whatsoever. I went for a full set and a pedicure and I was cut not once, but twice. First, I was cut by the file and the manicurist drew blood. Later, the nail grinder was used and took a chunk of skin out of my finger. The manicurist did nothing to stop the bleeding and sent me home with a bloody na...il file. I sat through the rest of the appointment and when I got into the car I noticed that my nails on my left hand were sharply pointed, the nails on the right were oval and there were chunks of the acrylic that hadn’t been filed off. Further, my fingers and toes were supposed to be the same color from the same bottle, and though they look alright at a distance they are two completely separate colors. My toes being purple and my fingers being blue. I was so frustrated at this point it wasn’t even worth it for me to go back and have it fixed. Not to mention, I paid $79 for this service. I would say my experience here was middle of the line. I went on a Wednesday early in the day. They weren't terribly busy and this was by far the fastest shellac manicure I've ever gotten. The staff was very pleasant but the overall quality wasn't great. My nail artist cut my cuticle (which wasn't a huge deal) but she put glue on it to stop the small bleeding which really freaked me out. She proceeded to paint my nails immediately after cleaning my cuticles without ever filing my nails which I thought was super weird!! The paint job was ok. This was my first experience and I might give them a second try in the future. Read Less

My best friend who is a mother and never gets time to herself went in for a pedicure. It was extremely rushed, sloppy, the woman talked down to her and was completely disrespectful. Experience was absolutely horrible. We waited 45 minutes past our appointment time only to get in the tub and have Cold water for our pedicure. We asked the employee to get the water hot and she exploded on us. She said if you're not having a good time then you can leave right now! She yelled at us in front of everybody. She then snatch to our shoes out of our purses and put them on our feet and said we could leave and walked us to the door in a huff. I will absolutely never be back here . Read Less

Kim Nails is always GREAT to me! I have been coming here for year's Kim is Wonderful, Kind, and Greatful!! I met Kim because my life long (16 year's) nail tech Ann came to work for Kim. Ann is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING at what she does!! Ann is super busy so even if I can't call and make an appointment with her I feel super comfortable and confident that anyone of the nail techs that work there can do my nails without fail!! Clean Salon, Great Color Selection, Affordable Rates and Never A Long Wait. I love Kim and Ann they make you always feel welcomed and that's something to be said about business's today I'm not just a number, they always ask about my husband and kid's by name!! Not sure what all the hype is about this place! Went recently with a friend and they were in such a hurry that they didn't bother asking me what nail shape I wanted and started gluing fake nails on and putting gel over top which isn't even the right process or technique, ever heard of a form!! Had to frantically choose a color using my opposite hand that didn't have dragon claws lol, and try to awkwardly hold 3 wheels of nail color samples in the one hand, all of this being done at the pedicure area!! They also cut me when doing my toenails which was really painful and bled!! It also made me worried, because I doubt they sterilize properly based on how backwards everything was. My friend even went back to get hers removed and they literally ripped them off. She told me she was crying and refused to tip since they had butchered her nails! Do NOT recommend!! Read Less

The worst nail paint job, ever. There's paint on my cuticles and my skin, it does not look professionally done. paid 68 dollars for a shitty job. After I pointed it out to Kim all she said was, "it will come off when you shower." What came off on my toe was part of the Gel on my nail along with what was on my skin. The color doesn not have enough coating and there are spaces on my nails that hasnt even been touched with color. I got annoyed with pointing out the simple imperfections. I just went and got them redone some where else. Even the technician where I got my nails redone questioned if I tried painting my own nails. My nails were uneven and the coloring was so bad, after I told him I spent 68 dollars he was flabbergasted. I should have known when I called to make an appointment not to go to Kim's. There was no business etiquette. The person answered the phone with "hello" which made me question if I called the right establishment. They were nice once I got there but my nails came out horrible, even my boyfriend refuses to believe I didn't do them myself. The worst part is when I asked for the problem to be corrected, they wouldnt do it and gave me an excuse. She burnt me with her nail shaving tool and I never received and apology, just a "oh, some people tell me some people don't." As a customer, I expected to be heard not ignored. I will never take my business to Kim's again. Nice people but not worth the money for what looks like a 4 year old can do. Read Less

I had never been to Kim's before. I received a gift certificate for Christmas and decided to use it today before we leave for spring break. They were so busy!!!! I was there at 5pm and when people were walking in without appointments for pedicures they weren't able to get them in until 8:30!  People were frustrated, but Kim was working hard to help them figure out a time that would work. They were even staying open late to accommodate the spring break rush. Don did my nails. He was efficient and sweet. He did an amazing job. I won't go anywhere else for mani/pedis. Prices are affordable and the staff is great.My only suggestion would be not to go right before they close. They tend to rush things and the finished product is pretty mediocre. Any other time of the day they are awesome!Also, you have to have cash for a tip even though you can pay for the service with a credit card. Kind of funky, but it's their way!You can also bring/ drink your own wine while getting a pedicure. :) Read Less
