Jennie is my nail tech here. All the ladies are great and they make you feel welcome when you are there. I've been going here for about four years now. Being from NYC I am a tough customer to please.  Upon my move I jumped from salon to salon trying to find a place that was good.  Not only are the owners Jack and Sasa that nicest people, they do a great job!  This has been my regular spot for 4 months now, and I go every other week.  Each time has been consistent and very relaxing.  They do push the gel manicures, so I tried it, and indeed do they last a long time! GR Nail Spa has new ownership! The new owners took me on the spur of the moment. They did a great rescue on a pink-and-white (P&W) that wasn't done well.  If you get P&W you know that drill-filing near cuticle has to be done well, and the tech knew exactly what to do and my nails look great several days later! After 2 years I will no longer be going here. Used to be my favorite nail place with reasonable prices and so close to work, I could get my nails done on my lunch break. There's a newer girl there whom I've had the last 3 times. I kept going back thinking she was having an off day or hoping someone else would be available to do my nails. She is extremely slow doing shellac, I normally can get in and out within 40 mins depending if I have shellac on before that needs to be removed. Everytime with her, even without having shellac on before its over an hour. I have to constantly pay attention while she is doing my nails and remind her to turn on the uv light in between coats. I can't sit and relax because she forgets to turn the light on every single time. Last week, I wasn't paying attention and she did an entire hand without doing the base coat before the color. Had to take it all off and start over. The first time I had her she kept making comments at how bright the red was I picked out and asked me several times if I really liked the color. How do you respond to that? Of course I like the color, I picked it out and have worn it a million times. I have a handful of the CND colors I wear and rotate them depending on the season. The next time she kept commenting how dark the color was that I chose. I just kept nodding and smiling. The last and final straw was the last time I went. I specifically wanted a neutral light brown color and knew exactly what color I was going to use. I had my engagement pictures that week and wanted something soft and not bright or flashy. When I brought the color to the station she looked at it and asked me if I was sure. I said yes and explained why (shouldn't have to do that in the first place) then got up from the station and picked out other colors she liked better. Really? I told her no I liked this color and have worn it before. She still insisted on the other colors. I was furious and said nope this one and told her I was on a time crunch. She did my nails at her normal slow pace and when it came time to pay tried to over charge me. I told her no its a 20 special for shellac according to the large sign in front if the store. I could barely understand her but she kept arguing it was 25 and then I pointed to the sign and she said no you had manicure no pedicure (sign specifically said "shellac manicure and pedicure $20.00" there was no one else around that I could talk to so I paid it and left a small tip to what I normally leave. She also always asks if you have cash for the tip instead of leaving it on the card. I've worked in service, she just wants her tip right away and not to have to wait until the next day. It's unfortunate, everything else I like about the place. I refuse to spend my once a month nail budget at a place that I have to argue with someone and always have to make sure the person is doing their job right. Read Less
