I always look to Serendipity Wellness Spa first when I’m interested in booking a manicure, pedicure or wonderful massage. Their updated facility in the River Place Shops is unbelievably tranquil, and the staff members are not only absolutely lovely to work with when scheduling an appointment, but they’re extremely attuned to ensuring that all guests have a perfect experience while visiting for a service. It’s rare to find a business these days where you feel warm and welcomed the minute you walk in, and blissful when you walk out. My friend and I went for the November special, which included a 30 min massage and a pedicure for $90. I'm not sure that the service was worth $90 but I guess they can ask that because I assume this location is primarily for tourists. The massage was nice because they used lotion instead of oil and it was all fall scented like apples and cinnamon. The pedicure was a little rough for my taste and there is only one brand of polish. The wbesite to review what they offer was very well organized and explained. Receptionist was friendly and welcoming. Location in Frankemuth had a calming feeling once you entered the store/spa. Location was clean. Staff was friendly. Questionaire before massage was helpful so they knew what areas to work and some history. During couples massage they made us feel comfortable to our liking. I had Heather and she did a nice job, I would only recommend with her maybe a little more pressure, but was still overall nice. I am just used to more pressure with having regular massages. My husband had Sarah and he stated that this is not something he is comfortable with and his hip is bothering him, she made him comfortable with the pressure being applied. The first time ever that this happened here. Had my toes done on Saturday and my toenail polish is already chipping and I even paid extra for the vinyl luxe. Kinda bummed that I spent money on it and can't get a week out of it. They put this clear polish at the end and said I'd be ok to leave so I did. Not sure if I needed more drying time or what. I made an appointment about a month in advance and received several phone calls, texts, and emails confirming. I drove the 85 mile trip to my appointment and I went in to see if there were any earlier openings. Come to find out, my appointment had been canceled due to a computer error. After declining to take a later appointment (I still had an 85 mile drive to get home), the employee working, Rachel, said the spa director would get in touch with me and would comp the massage (give me a free one for all the trouble it put me through). My appointment was supposed to be for 5/26/17... one week later, no phone call. I've taken my business elsewhere. No customer service whatsoever for an already overpriced experience. There goes my paid vacation day at work wasted... thanks... FOR THE RECORD: I did give my credit card information over the phone one week in advance. I have only ever had one phone number in the history of going to this establishment. In addition, I did not receive any phone calls for the rest of the day. My mom and I had a wonderful time today at the spa. The massages were amazing. The manicures are beautiful, my manicurist even went above and beyond with designs. We got the shamrock pedicures... the drinks were way too strong and there wasn't any bright green polish options for St. Patrick's day (very disappointed since that was the theme) so I chose a sparkly redish color... It turned out terrible. I took it off before I went to bed because I couldn't take it anymore. Disappointing since I paid so much.. Otherwise we had a great time. Unknown to me, I was scheduled my hour long relaxation massage the same time the Snowfest fireworks started. Loud booms shook the building for the first 15 minutes. My masseuse had to stop and leave the room because the ambient music had stopped. I could hear intermittent talking and the sound of coat hangers being dropped out in the hallway. This was my Christmas present from my wife and after a very stressful work week, I thought using it this weekend would help. I was wrong. I've been here a few times with my daughter over the years in Frankenmuth who books for us when I come into town from Colorado. The staff is obviously very hardworking and accommodating. My favorite is the nail lady that is petite and has long brown hair, I am disappointed that I forget her name every year. I am getting old but my daughter always remembers.They are always making us feel important. I noticed that there are still people working but no spa services available, and it makes me question the value of employees and family. Maybe this is a question for the Riverplace, but I find it concerning that employees do not get the opportunity for time for family on special holidays like Thanksgiving and Easter. That is the reason for my two star review because I believe family should be considered when choosing to spend your money at a business. This was my first time coming here... I was not disappointed!!! My mom, mother in law, sister in law, and myself all came in for a mini escape package my husband purchased for us... I seriously felt like we were treated like royalty the second we walked through the door! Instantly we were greeted by a friendly receptionist, and it just continued from there. By the time our massages were over, we were all going to take our therapists with us!!! There was not one thing that was negative about this visit. Thank you! What a great little place! I scheduled an appointment for my first bikini wax to prepare for an upcoming vacation, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The ladies behind the front desk were so friendly and welcoming, and I can say the same for the esthetician. I had it ingrained in my brain that this experience would be awkward, because I would have to take off my clothes in front of a total stranger, but she was completely professional and walked me through the entire process. She answered my questions, and we had a nice conversation throughout my appointment (which I must say was helpful to distract me from any discomfort). Nice staff and an overall not unpleasant experience, but I had a very difficult time making an appointment for a manicure as the phone wasn't picked up until I called for a fourth time over the span of several hours. They were able to accommodate me for the following day for their basic spa manicure ($20). I already had Shellac on my nails, which I wanted removed, followed by a manicure with regular polish. This was done with no problem. The manicure was adequate. It got weird, however, when I checked out and my total was $35...for a $20 manicure. I inquired about the price, and was told there was a fee for removal of the Shellac without following up with a Shellac manicure. (That itself doesn't bother me, I know it's a tad more labor intensive to remove) I just couldn't believe it wasn't disclosed to me at any point when I made the appointment or when I was there! I probably would have nixed the mani and just had the Shellac removed. This fee is also not listed at all on their list of services...so when I asked why it was $15, I was quickly told its for the time spent removing the Shellac. Seemed a tad expensive for a $20 manicure to begin with. She then corrected herself and said it was only $10 for the removal...huh?! The whole encounter seemed like pulling the wool over my eyes for a whopping $10. Read Less

I was very skeptical about following through only because I didn't want to pay good money to sit with uncaring, gossiping woman (the workers) but Ali and Cassidy were extremely genuine and delightful. Came here for a 60 minute couples massage and a 60 minute facial. We were going to be a few minutes late, so I phoned them and they were very accommodating. Upon arrival, we were greeted and shown to the waiting area to fill out some paperwork. The area we were shown to was in the middle of the hallway with two chairs. Not extremely comfortable as people were walking by constantly. Once we finished the paperwork, we were led to a room with 2 beds. We met our therapist and they explained the services. They left for a few minutes so that we could get ready. I really wish they had a locker room so that we could change into robes.The services started with a 60 minute massage. The beds were comfortable and a good temperature. My massage was pretty good with the therapist focusing on the areas of concern that I outlined on the initial form. My wife's therapist was just ok. She commented that it felt as if the therapist just kept rubbing the same spots over and over. After the massage ended, both therapist left and returned a few minutes later with the products for the facials. This is the first spa that we've been to that has done a couples facial. It was pleasant that we could spend more time together. Both facials were well done. One of the few things that we wished the did differently is to begin with the facial so that we didn't have to lay on our backs so long, as it gets a little uncomfortable. I took my daughter here three years ago for a manicure with her sister and a friend and we had a really good time. So I decided to take her again this year for her 14th birthday. We went today and got a pedicure and a manicure. My daughter said it was the best part of her birthday and we did many other things. The place was very clean, professional, friendly, and the ladies were modest. There's nothing worse than having to stare down at some woman's breasts while they're giving you a pedicure. But they were very professional shirts that kept themselves covered. The ladies did a wonderful job on our pedicure and I love the fact that we got to pick our own salts for our feet. they offered us drinks several times, my daughter got water with cucumber slices and I got pumpkin spice coffee. It was absolutely delicious.  and I can't forget that scrumptious cookie that they gave both of us freshly baked. The pedicure chairs were wonderful, they massaged and reclined and it felt great. And you can control yourself when you got tired of it you simply turned it off.   One thing I really liked is when they were putting the nail polish on after the very first coat of the first toe, they asked if we were still satisfied with that color. My daughter was not when she saw it on her nail so they simply took it off and let her choose another color. That is customer service. The manicure was equally as good, a very nice massage and again we were able to pick what kind of lotion send we wanted on our hands. Not only will I be going back, but I have already told several friends about this and it's only been a few hours since we went. With that being said I would recommend this place to everyone. We went for a couple massage on a long weekend vacation. The spa was very clean and overall professional. It was my significant other's first time and they were very nice about explaining the process to him. The massage therapists were great, friendly and professional. We felt very relaxed when we left. After having a not-so-good massage somewhere else, I was pretty apprehensive to try it again. My mom, sister, and I were in Frankenmuth for a girl's weekend, so they persuaded me to try it. I'm so glad I did!! The spa itself is clean, with a serene atmosphere. The entire staff seemed genuinely nice and helpful. Greg was my massage therapist, and he did such an excellent job. I explained to him that the last massage I had left me feeling a little beat up, and not relaxed at all. He listened to everything I said, even when I told him about the weird spot on my back that always hurts, and I wanted him to avoid it. Greg made sure that I was relaxed and the pressure was how I wanted it. He also made sure the temperature of the hot stones was good for me, and adjusted accordingly. The music, lighting, and cleanliness of the room was all perfectly harmonious. I fell asleep a few times, which is a good thing! My mom and sister had massages and facials and were equally happy with their services as well. I will definitely be back to Serendipity whenever I'm in Frankenmuth. A group of four of us had their deluxe pedicures at the same time. It was fantastic! Two spa technicians did our pedicures. I was skeptical about having just two people to do 4 pedicures, but it really worked out great. It was a peaceful setting (no loud music) just the sound of the water fountain. The charm of the spa and it's peaceful atmosphere combined with the relaxing music played during my appointment made it easy to forget that the rest of the world was outside the walls of that room.
