I have visited this salon twice, the first time after reading the reviews here over this past summer. My visit was pretty average compared to most salons. It's definitely no spa and the decor is not easy on the eyes, however the service was decent and my nail tech did the job. I got a full set of acrylics and paid the usual around here - $25. I recently visited this place again, opting for gel nails. I've always wanted to try them so I asked the nail tech at the front if they were that much better. She sort of shrugged and said yeah. I wanted to try them so I went through with them in spite of her less than enthusiastic response. Before she went through with the gel application, she asked me two or three times if I was sure I wanted gel because acrylics are $5 less. I said no, I wanted to try the gel nails because of the good things I've heard about them. I'm not one of those people who gets bothered when people in a nail salon are speaking another language the whole time, but the entire time the nail tech was doing my nails, another one was standing next to her talking and occasionally pointing at my hands and making comments. A couple times, she actually grabbed my hand pointing at a nail or finger and saying things. I just thought it was a little rude and unprofessional, especially because neither of them really said anything directly to me the entire time. I'm not sure if I haven't researched enough but after I got my nails done, I looked around to learn more about gel nails. I discovered that gel nails are never applied using a powder and liquid like acrylics are. At this salon, this is how they do it and apparently that means they're simply using acrylics and passing them off as gels!! I googled this for a bit and this is what everyone is saying. Now it makes sense why she asked me a few times if I wanted acrylics instead. Also, before I get fake nails, I prefer they treat my nails just the same as if I was getting a manicure, meaning cutting away excess cuticle and the like. I got none of that. She just removed the nail polish I had on and went at it with the "gels". Also, a few of the tools she used did not come out of the sterilized packet that you see at other salons. Lastly, my nail chipped only two days of having them and I went in to get it repaired. I had only 20-30 minutes to spare and they seemed busy so I asked how long it would take to the nail tech helping me. She said "15-20 minutes". I wasn't sure if she meant that's how long it would be to repair the nail or for the wait so I asked if that was how long it was going to take to wait. She responded with this, "We have other customers waiting and I'm not going to make them wait just to fix your nail." I told her I would come back in later. All I wanted was a clarification and she had to have an attitude. I came back in and she fixed it with white "gel" and it looks okay now. She didn't charge so I'll give her that.Needless to say, this salon is a joke. From charging gel price for acrylics to having poor service and no professionalism, I don't think I'll be coming back. I gave it another try after my first decent experience and it was nothing it was cracked up to be. My nails look pretty nice, if that helps, but if you're looking for hospitality and honesty, this isn't the place. Read Less
