When I first found Donnas I was so excited. They have good prices and work quickly. I've always been happy with the end product.I get shellac every two weeks and pedicures once a month so I spend a lot of money here. So when I had two nail techs make rude comments about the shape (almond) of nail I wanted I was blown away.I am paying money for a service not you to be rude to me.Very disappointed and will not be returning or recommending any more business. Nice little shop. I got a Mani and Pedi. I loved my pedicure bc they took their time and the hot towels were lit. And I also liked my manicure. I did not get acrylics but my friends did. She asked for coffin shape and got dinosaur eggs instead. If you're not getting acrylics I think this place is fine. Read Less

I'm very disappointed.. I used to love this place. They were very cheap but also very talented. The last two experiences have been terrible and I will not be going back. This past time I got a full set gel and they quoted me $30 which is $5 more then I used to pay here. By the time I was done it was $40. I was going to get a sparkle top coat but when they put it on the sparkles were contaminated by another color and came out foggy and yellow. When I told the guy doing my nails he replied "oh maybe it's just your eyes" and still ended up charging me extra for the sparkles even though we did not go with the sparkles. At the end I looked at my nails and they had a white powder around them that was not cleaned off. I'm very disappointed and will not be going back. They have lost a very loyal customer. Only giving one star because I have too,  in order to rate this place...but I have now been here twice only to have SHITTY experience both times. My nails were not trimmed, the ends were roughly filed and caught on my clothing, there was a TON of dust in my nail polish which resulted in dried up bubbles. I Immediately had to file my nails when I left which resulted in them chipping the SAME DAY. ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT GO BACK! Also was charged $5 more for the same service as last time. Read Less

Awful service. Manager is rude and unprofessional!! Made my daughters nails bleed, drilled her cuticles and cut her with the nail file too, ruined my own real nails by NOT listening to what the I asked for and had my other daughter walking out with the owner's own fingerprints on her Gel coat because he didn't let them finish under the light before wiping them. He wanted us to pay $10 to fix HIS mistake!! Terrible place to get nails done on the fly, especially nails you have had done by a true professional for 14 years. Stick with the same place and this hole is NOT a good place. The owner said he would refund my $93 and never did. Now they "no understand what you talking about" is what Thomas says. Terrible service. No primer before polish. Tech complained when I asked for a 3rd coat of polish. Nails uneven. Intelligence completely undermined each time I requested something as if I just don't understand how nail polish works.....I wouldn't recommend anyone to this salon ever. The price was ok...25 bucks for a pedi. However, if you are looking for a more relaxing experience rather than speed forget it. I felt like the lady was in a big hurry the whole time. Went for a mani pedi on Thurs afternoon. It cost $35, which seems middle of the road but I'm used to the $20 specials. The facility is clean though dated. The pedicure was pretty thorough. Overall she did a good job on my nails. Pedi is still holding up after a couple weeks. Fingernails started chipping after one week, which is expected.  By 5:30pm the place was busier with the after work crowd. I would return. Shellac seems really popular there with the other customers. I would have that done there for a special occasion. They have free wifi which worked fine. Read Less

I've been going here every two weeks for a couple months now.  I've gotten two pedicures and many different colors of shellac nails.  It's clean and inviting inside and the staff is super friendly.  It's not overpriced, and it only takes about 20mim for a color change on my shellac.  I'm happy for the service I'm getting for the price I'm paying.  I will continue to come back and would recommend it! I was on a trip for work for the week and could not get back to them to fix it until a week later. When I called to get my nails fixed I could not believe they actually charged my for it even when the guy that answered the phone told me it did not matter who fixed them. I've been to Donna's Nails 2 or 3 times now, and have always happy with how my nails turn out. I get the gel/shellac nails, and for me they've lasted up to 3 weeks! The women who have done my nails have been kind and polite, and are willing to try to accomplish any of my requests. For instance, today I asked for just solid glitter shellac nails (multiple coats of just glitter), and the woman who did my nails was unsure at first but gave me advice and tried it out anyways. They turned out great. I have also had friends who have gotten pedicures, and are happy with their experience. The employees aren't rude or cold like some other nail salon employees, they are sweet and seem to care! I fully recommend Donna's Nails to anyone in the East Lansing area!! Read Less

I went here because my usual place was booked out because of a bridal party. The staff was nice but I was not impressed with my service and not was my friend whom accompanied me. I got an acrylic fill and she got a gel fill. My nail tech took a really long time and ended up filing my nails unevenly. Her work was sloppy and she dropped acrylic all over the counter and wasn't pleasant feeling at all. She nicked my cuticles and skin several times with the motorized sander and the filing board!! Ouch! She ended up passing me off to another woman to help file (still unevenly) an paint my nails before sending me to sit at a drying table that was so low powered my friends manicure was still wet when she had been sitting there for 30mins before me. I would not recommend this salon and although they wet polite and friendly and my nails are done, I had to finish the job myself at home... not impressed. I'll be going to my usual place from now on. Best kept nail secret in East Lansing!  I would give 5 stars, however the name Donna isn't the only 90s-esque feature of this nail gem...  The salon is in great need of a makeover, the massage pedicure chairs are pretty old--but still in perfect working order ;-)  If you are going for ambiance, this is not the place for you.  If you want magnificent nails and the longest most relaxing pedicure, Donna Nails will hook you up!They also do great brow waxing-- shout out to Linda! I have to agree a bit with Ana who reviewed above. The salon STINKS of nail products. I was overwhelmed by the smell when I walked in and even felt a little lightheaded for the first few minutes I was there. I am surprised more people have not commented on this. In addition, the massage and especially the pedicure I received was average or below.  I do not plan to return to the salon unless I am desperate, as scheduling a last minute appointment there is easier than at other salons in the area.  I give them three stars due to the $25 price tag which is the lowest I have paid in this area. I had never been to Donna's, but it is right near my home and I needed a fill, so I stopped in. I had the older lady as my technician (maybe Donna herself) and she was AMAZING! I had a few spots on the edges of my acrylics that were peeling up and she made sure to trim them off and replace with new acrylic without me even having to ask! She took her time with the service and did not seem rushed but I was still out in a reasonable amount of time. I was especially impressed with the contemporary décor as well as the organization and customer service. Everywhere I looked, the place was spotless! I'm actually confused if all of these glowing reviews are for another place. What I experienced was barely mediocre. The smell of polish and remover is so strong that employees wear masks, but the customer must endure it. The massage chairs have one option (the backbreaker) and no off button. The employees never speak, only obscurely gesturing to what you must do. Additionally, if you picked out a color that was so light you could tell you had it on, they'll neglect to tell you. The job was generally sloppy, and there was no drying rack, just a little 3 inch fan for you to dry your nails on. Personally, I wouldn't return. Read Less
