This was the worst experience I have ever had at a salon. I called to make an appointment and said explained that I had dark hair that was dyed blonde and I was coming in for root touch up, toner, and a haircut. The receptionist was great, through the whole experience. No ill will toward Olivia. If I was basing this completely off of her, they'd be getting 5 stars.
However, what usually takes my regular colorist 2 hours took 6 hours at Ezelli. I missed another appointment and a graduation party because of this service. I arrived at 9 am for my appointment. The colorist sat me down and I showed her a picture of myself just after I had my hair done last time and told her that this was exactly what I wanted. She followed by saying that no one wants purple hair, the color that I was asking for. After two bleach treatments on my roots, my scalp was starting to burn. She put on more dye that was supposed to be the silver/violet color I wanted, but when we washed it out my hair was blue with golden rod yellow roots. Neither colors that I had asked for. The colorist then applied another dye to my roots, all the while telling me over and over again about protecting my scalp and not wanting to do any damage. After we rinsed this out, my roots were exactly the same and at this point my scalp was on fire. The owner of the salon came back to check on me and went on and on about how difficult this process was and took zero responsibility for my blue and yellow hair. He offered to purchase me lunch since I had been there all day, I declined saying I just wanted to finish and go home. He came back a while later with a picture of another bad dye job that looked very similar to mine saying he had ran into this man in the picture and maybe it would make me feel better that he also had a difficult time dying his hair. It did not help, how would it? From there, they applied a toner to my roots in hopes to tone down the yellow color. I left after 6 hours with the worst dye job I have ever received - it was grey in some places, blue in others, and yellow here and there. It was blotchy, I could have done better on my own with box color. And after all of this, they charged me half the price they had intended on charging. For blue/grey/yellow blotchy hair.
We called the salon about an hour later when I got home and it really sunk in that I had spent $82 for a burnt scalp and bad hair color. The owner continued to tell us that it was a difficult dye job and how could he not charge me when he had a stylist helping me all day long, her time was so precious and she wouldn't be making money all the while fixing my hair - which she screwed up in the first place. Her time is obviously more important than mine, at least that is my understanding.
This took place on Saturday and it is now Wednesday and I'm peeling scabs out of my hair from my scalp - even though they took "extra care" not to damage my scalp.
Again, Olivia was great to deal with and I appreciated her efforts. Great lady with a great attitude! Read Less
