I got a pedicure, the man who did mine did a great job, and double checked everything about the color for me. My feet were not the prettiest, but now they are; my legs and feet are so soft! This place wasn't bad, but before I did my nails, I asked about price, just to have an understanding of what their range is.I was also trying to take my time to figure out what I wanted and I felt so rushed because the workers kept telling me "come," and that was annoying, I don't like making a rushed decision that I end up hating but thankfully I knew what I wanted before hand even though I wanted to look at other options.  I was taken care of by Leo. He was nice, didn't talk much which is good considering that I'm not in the mood to talk most of the day. He did make a little mistake with the pink ombré design that I asked for but it small so i'm not going to worry about it.Anyways back to the point, with Pricing, I think they just make their own prices up because the design that I wanted and asked about beforehand, I was told it would be only $45 but then when I finished getting my nails done the guy told me $50 and I'm not really worried about five dollars but I also tip so yeah it's just nice to know what pricing is BUT overall good experience. I have been here twice now, strictly choosing it based on location and convienence to me. I never wait more than 2 minutes to be seated and usually someone is waiting to start anyway. I have had two different nail techs each time and both gave me the same experience which was great! Very large color selection, the color doesnt fade or become discolored weeks after, they treat your cuticles and really pay attention to detail! I recently went somewhere else to get my nails done out of need quickly, and I am sitting here regretting it because the shellac manicure has already peeled off. When I get a shellac manicure here its $25 and $1 extra for a credit card fee and I always tip cash. They're very nice and know what they are doing more than a lot of salons. the shellac that I have gotten here has always lasted me longer than I was willing to leave it on (aka I picked it off when it was way grown out but it could have stayed on longer). All in all, I probably will continue to go here until I have a bad experience, and I dont think that's going to happen. Read Less

Okay so I couldn't find the sun nails at westborn shopping center so I guess I'll leave my review on here so I go in there it's not that busy..and I get seated at station #4 witch btw don't ever let this guy do ur nails I got basic white tips with gel I didn't like how he did one of my nails so I told him to re-do it for me then on top of that he rushed threw them and made my pinky bleed like r u f-ing kidding me this guy was awful and then I come home n brighter light and it looks like he didn't even dust them off good enough so that there is dust underneath my top coast and plus that on my thumb nail he LEFT ACRLIC UNDERNEATH THE NAIL LIKE ARE U SERIOUS!!!$$$!!$!!$! I've been coming here for a while now, it's actually the only place I ever go to do my nails. Anytime I go somewhere else for convenience I automatically regret it. First off, 90% of the reason that I used to delay getting my nails done, was because I never wanted to wait in those lines. I've had to wait over 40+ minutes just to get my nails done anywhere else. At Sun I've never ever ever EVER waited more than 5 minutes. And that was only one time, they just seat you instantly. Henry & Anh are great. They never have me leaving disappointed like other places. The price here is also very right. 15 dollars for shellac??? You can't beat that. When you pay credit they do charge 1$ extra, I don't mind but it may be a big deal to some. Now sometimes if I'm not dealing with Henry and Anh, I've had some not so great experiences with service but it's not discouraging to me. Regardless, almost all the employees are still very very friendly & conversation with you. I once came here in the summer when I was on crutches and I'll never forget how unbelievably helpful and accommodating everyone was. Henry more specifically, but still as a customer that was a very memorable experience.This is the only place where my shellac looks good for weeks after. Other places I'm chipping within a couple of days. Nor does it really get discolored, I haven't figured out why but this is the only place that works well for me. I went to this place just to get shellac. (I recently got a manicure and just wanted a polish change basically) The nail "tech" sitting in chair 9 insisted I get a manicure because my "cuticles were horrible" I told him no and he proceeded to file my nails with an attitude. THEN he asks what color I wanted and I told him black and purple and he said 'no".... EXCUSE ME WHAT...? so I said Yes..... and he said "no I don't want to do that" and I said yes.... at this point I'm beyond annoyed and frustrated and just wanted to leave but I was almost done and just needed to get the polish on and go. After he was done I told the manager about his employees rude customer service and explained I would not be back and he said "ok". I don't know what is wrong with these people but I would suggest going somewhere else. Nails salons in Detroit that charge $10 for shellac polish do a way better job anyway. Read Less

This review is for the Michigan ave location in Dearborn. I really can't believe the rudeness and unprofessionalism that goes on at this salon. All of the employees talk about you in their own language and they make it known too. Each time I have gone there I have received a different price. This miserable man today that works there was so mad that I wanted him to re-file my nail that he had to announce it to all the employees for everyone to look at me. Do yourself a favor and just find a different nail salon. I've been here twice and have had poor experiences each time, and will not be back. I was in for a shellac manicure today and my nail tech was trimming my cuticles really fast. I wanted to ask her to slow down because it was kind of aggressive and making me nervous, but didn't want to be that annoying customer. However, I wish I did because she was going too fast and took a big chunk out of my cuticle and it bled like crazy. Along with dealing with that for the rest of my time there, my nails are not trimmed the same length and some aren't shaped evenly. I used to come here every two-three weeks. But the last few times I knew I had to stop. This last visit I had a pedicure done and by the next day I could not walk on my heels. I couldn't understand why I was in so much pain until I looked at my heels and noticed that I had a cut on both heels that were extremely deep. They rush their services so they can get to the next customer. This really irks me because when I'm doing my nails & getting a pedicure I'd like to relax. I used to get a overlay set with shellac. This past time I noticed that my nails were just way too thin. The guy I used to see used to use the drill way to harshly and you could totally tell by looking at my nail bed with no nail polish on it. Beginning of this year I was taking a break from overlay and would go in for shellac only to realize the sides of my nails were always missed and when pointed out i'd get a sigh. TERRIBLE SERVICE. DO NOT GO TO SUN NAILS WITH FRIENDS IF YOU THINK THEY WILL PAY FOR YOU. I went to this terrible salon for a pedicure the day I was leaving for my vacation. My friends paid for each other *and my pedicure* and walked out to pull up the car. While my nails were drying the worker that did my nails ALREADY KNEW MY NAILS WERE PAID FOR still asked me for the total. My friend paid in cash, he pocketed the money. I used my credit card to pay and LATER when i was on my way to the airport discovered MY FRIENDS HAD ALREADY PAID FOR MY SERVICES. I called the salon furious and nobody would help me, i did not know the mans name that did my pedicure *it was terrible my feet did not look any better than when i originally walked in* and the person claiming to be the manager was very rude and yelled at me and hung up the phone. Went here last summer...The taller skinny guy did my pedicure. Sanded my big toe nails down so thin, they BOTH split the next day. The whole summer I couldnt get another pedicure.  Found another place to go a few times, but then I went back last month (comvience).  This time, got the same guy, he bruised my shins from the "massage" and made my one big toe bleed. 3 weeks later, my toes still hurt.  Will never ever go back. I just recently received services from Ken on 1-6-17 at 7pm. I'm very happy with my service and the look of my nails however I'm not happy with the tone that Ken took with me when I questioned him about the pricing.  He immediately got defensive when I asked why the price was $8 more then the sign.  He embarrassed me by saying "If you don't like it you can go somewhere cheaper" This is offensive seeing as how I spend a lot of money in this establishment receiving shellac pedicures and pink and white nails. It's not about the money, I should be able to have the pricing explained with out being given unnecessary attitude. I am disappointed that he no longer wants to service me and stated I should take my business elsewhere. Why? Because I asked to have pricing explained. There was no reason for him to go off on me in front of other customers and practically chase me out. I'm beyond embarrassed and this was no way to treat a customer. It saddens me to have to find another place to take my business. Horrible! Rushed pedicure, so expensive for a crappy job. All of the polish chipped off the next day. All of my acrylic nails broke not even a week later and they drilled my nail so deep I started bleeding. Why is it so hard to find a decent nail salon in this area?! How frustrating. Read Less

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I had the worst experience of my life at Sun Nails on Michigan Avenue in West Dearborn. I got my nails done on Wednesday.. I'll be nice & not use names of the workers BUT on Thursday I woke up with 2 chipped nails and I knew the moment I left the salon they were gonna come off easy because he rushed my nails. I did shellac and no manicure..by Thursday night 4 of my nails were chipped which, mind you, I had not washed any dishes or done anything aggressive to hurt my nails in any way. (it's not my first time getting shellac I've done it like 30 times) so on Friday moenifn I told myself I was fed up cuz I literally had 5 chipped nails. ITS BEEN 2 DAYS!!!!I walked in and asked if they can fix my chipped nails and 4 workers hovered around me with shining lights as if I was a crazy person cuz I asked them to fix them for me. after 20 mins they finally started to take my shellac off & asked me what color I used I toldthem the number of the shellac color and they claimed they couldn't find it.. which was odd.. but whatever. they asked me to pick another color instead so I did.. then after the lady looks at me and says "it's gonna be $15 again" excuse me? I came here 2 days ago and payed $20 why do you need me to pay again? they rolled their eyes at me. treated me like I was a child and looked at melike I was garbage. although my whole family went there and we were loyal customers they just lost many customers because of the way they treated me.  when my sister called to ask why they disrespected me the one worker called my sister a b**ch and hung up in her face. I'm only giving two stars because  I had a good experience on my visit before this one I came in 1/20 for a pedicure and gel polish (they had a coupon). The lady kept pushing me to upgrade to a $45 pedicure which I couldn't afford. She asked at least 5 times so it was making me uncomfortable. She worked VERY fast (less than the postedMinimum 25 min), was very rough and cut my cuticle too hard making me bleed. Now it's infected.  I almost think she did it on purpose for not upgrading.Then for the gel color -- she kept pushing me to get a manicure -- now I didn't want one because she was so rough and I cannot have cuts on my hands at work. Love this salon. I have been going here since I was a little girl. It's small, clean and usually quiet because I go in the morning. Lisa is who I go to for nails. She's honest about color and design ideas and she takes her time, she genuinely loves what she does. Also, her eyebrows couldn't be more on point! Honestly, my experiences there have been hit and miss (more hits than misses). There's no doubt Sun Nails has mastered the speed eyebrow waxing. You're done in less than 3 minutes and it's $7. Overall, the pedi experience is pretty good as well, especially now that they've added a "deluxe" pedi package, which includes a mud mask on your legs, extensive efforts in callous removal, etc. Of course, they will still do the hot towels and massage. The (finger)nails is the possible hit and miss. They're really good with full sets or tips. But, with a mani (standard or gel), they may miss the side edge of your nails when they try to clean up whatever might've gone outside of the lines, per se. That may not bother some people, but that bothers the crap outta me. I pay you money to paint my whole nail, not 95% of it. 2 big freak accidents that I hope would never happen again - There was lady that works at the new Sun Nails at the strip mall on Mich Ave by Krogers, and apparently was helping out here because the Pelham Sun Nails was busy. Not only was she rough on my hands, one of my cuticles actually started to bleed. I wish I got her name. I'm sure I'll recognize her though. The second miss - I went in at 6:45 for a mani/pedi and since it wasn't busy, I had someone doing my mani and pedi at the same time. At 7:15, two of the workers there ran out the door as if someone got into an accident, because the Mich Ave Sun Nails was busy and they had asked me to drive the guy working on my feet to the second store. Seriously? That was super bizarre and rude. And they didn't even give me a discount.All in all, I suppose I will still go there (for now) since they do do a good job, but ironically, make sure you go when it's busy, or else you'll end up having to drive someone to the other store. lol.
