If you want to feel pampered dont go here! The owner works on 3 different people at the same time and dont want to wash her hands in between clients. She constantly talking on the phone. What a dump. Dirty band aid on counter, acetone soaked pieces of torn cotton were used to soak off shellac, the acetone literally dripping and running down my wrists and arms, vacuum cleaners with attachments used to suck debris and dust from hands and nails, they dumped the  "used" acetone into storage buckets sitting on the floor, rude people, took forever, I could go on and on. I am never coming back here again, this was the most awful nail experience I have ever had! Lucy does not know how to do nails at all. I went in to get the powder dip and she left the nail polish residue all under my nail. When I asked her to clean it up she said that there is nothing she can do about it and sent me on my way. It is also very crowded in there, you will end up waiting around an hour for awful service. Do yourself a favor and do not go to Lucy's nails! Read Less

I went here a few times for the gel dip. Lucy didn't do a good job with my nails. She overbooks herself so, even if you have a appointment you wind up waiting up to 15-20 mins to be seen. What the point in making appointment it you are not going to be seen at the time of your appointment. Lucy is a nice woman, but she needs to work on scheduling and not being distracted when she's doing a clients nails, so the nails look decent. Read Less

I'm reposting this in honor of my friends grandfather and the horrendous and appalling way he was treated recently. Yesterday at 10:56am · Today, something very disturbing happened. My grandfather was denied service because he is handicapped with Parkinson's disease. My grandfather, along with many of my family and friends have been customers of Lucy's Nails, located in Commerce, MI for over a decade! Today, when my grandfather entered the store in a wheelchair, the owner herself, Lucy, denied him service and screamed at him. Lucy yelled and told him they do not service people in wheelchairs. She humiliated my grandfather in front of the 10+ women at the nail salon! Everyone stared at him, as Lucy treated him like a "dog with fleas" because of circumstances beyond his control. I am writing this post because everyone should be aware that disability discrimination is just as equally disgusting as any other prejudices. This is no different than racial segregation, where people were not serviced because of their skin color—disgusting and wrong! People do not choose their skin color, and they certainly don't choose whether or not they have the ability to walk!! Over the past decade, my family, friends and I have spent thousands of dollars supporting a place that doesn't support us! They had no problem servicing my grandfather and accepting her generous tips until he became impaired. I refuse to support any business who practices discrimination of any kind. These people refused service to my grandpa because he was in a wheelchair!! My WHOLE family has gone to this place for over a decade, including my grandpa who is now recently handicapped. They had no problem servicing him and taking his money for almost a decade before he got sick, but now they discriminate against him? Thet were so rude and discriminatory toward my grandfather that he actually cried! They yelled at him in front of the whole store and made him feel like a zero. Shame on them. Read Less

Never coming here ever again. Lucy is SOOO rude. I did the new dip polish. It chipped after 1 day. I went back the next day to get that nail redone. First off she made me wait 30 minutes to do my ONE nail. Second, she painted it sloppy and told me to wait 10 minutes before touching it when she was done. It's supposed to be dry right when you are done.. so I politely said "Isn't it supposed to be dry? Do you need to dip it again?". She said "Are you serious? Get out. You're finished, LEAVE!". With my mouth dropped I said "What?"and she AGAIN said "LEAVE". Who tells a customer to leave?? I will never step foot in this salon, nor spend 1 penny there ever again. Read Less

The staff person who did my mani pedi was rushing through my services. I told her not to file my nails too short but she did anyway. The nails are not even. Right hand is shorter than the left. I would not go back to that person. I am not sure how the rest of the staff is so I gave them 3 stars. This was not relaxing for me because the lady who performed the services was rather negative. I also dislike when they speak their home language instead of paying attention to what they are doing. Likely they are making fun of the customers- that would be my guess. I have been going here for almost fifteen years. I love this place. I love how they take walk-ins and are very accommodating. They do a great job!-had regular, shellac and acrylic mani, pedis and eyebrow wax done. A great value also that cannot be beat in this area. Read Less

I have to say.. This is by far the WORST nail salon I have ever been to in my life. Mind you I had an appointment at 6:00pm for a pedicure and this gel powder dip for my fingernails.. I did not leave there until 9, being the last customer there. The lady doing my toes literally took 2 hours for a pedicure going over the same toes over and over and fixing them when nothing was wrong and kept looking at the owner which I had an appointment with to see if she was done with other customers to waste time so she could do other people's nails. And once they saw me getting heated they started mocking and laughing at me the entire time. so unprofessional I couldn't even believe it. I will NEVER step foot in that nail salon again. An appointment that could've been done in an hour and a half tops took 3 hours.... Ridiculous. I use to love this place since Lucy does amazing job, but the service is bs. OH and let me not forget that she did the wrong color on my nails and wouldn't even change it because "it looks better". They're my nails, and I had a wedding the next day. I'm very impressed by the job that they do. Everything seems to be very clean. And they have the calcium dip which is hard to find in the open County area. Michael and Lucy are the only two that do the dip and acrylics however, so make sure if you're planning on that to make an appointment Fridays and Saturdays can get busy here. I understand that some of the reviews on the site looking negative, however give them a try. Most of the reviews negative because people come in without an appointment and they can't be served unfortunately their high demand because they're so good. I went in yesterday with some friends because I wanted to try a nail service they offer called "dip gel".  Basically, the concept is a longer lasting powder gel application that is supposed to parallel gel polish withnthe added bonus of being longer lasting. First off, my friend had to tell the owner that I was getting my nails done too, as it seemed like she just kind of breezed past me when seating everyone.  My friend sat down to be soaked off and I was told to choose my color. After sitting for about 15 minutes, the owner started to work on my nails.  I was surprised that there was no "prep" of the nail other than her filing my natural nail with the drill, which SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN by the way. This is not normal procedure and you can have some serious damage done to your nail beds when the drill is used. Even though I know better, I let her continue just because I was curious about the process.  As she went on, she kept bouncing in between me and one other lady so she would essentially do one thing on me, move over to the other lady and do one thing on her, then come back to me and do one thing - which would probably explain why I was in there for over 2 hours to have what easily could have been a 20 minute procedure done.  So this dip gel...what it is is a colored powder that you dip your nails into after a base coat of sorts has been applied. Its really cool besides the fact that its extremely unsanitary.  Everyone uses the same powder and theres no cleansing or prepping done before so whatever is on your skin or under your nails goes into the pot.  You're not supposed to wash your hands with soap either so here's hoping no one has ever had to use the bathroom, picked their nose, or had any open cuts on their fingers during their service..........outside of the extremely questionable sanitation, the service itself seems pretty cool, but I'm also not convinced its anything more than glorified acrylic. Additionally, when I picked my color, I was told to choose a different color because its "going to stain and look dirty". Rightly so, as a hairstylist choosing a light polish color, she did have a point. So i make a different choice and ask to have my middle and ring finger be polished with a dark purple glitter and the other nails with a regular purple color. I was then told "no that wont look good, you need every other finger to be glitter". No thank you, I'm not 5 years old so I'd like them done the other way please. She just kind of raised her eyebrows and sighed and said "ok, but its not going to look good". At this point, I was nearly finished and she started working on my friend who had been sitting with bald nails for 30 minutes and again she went back and forth between us. This is the worst nail salon I've ever been to. I just left now so upset because I went in at 11:03 and asked for a manicure and no one gave me a wait time so I figured they would able to do it soon. So I sat down and they took two people ahead of me even though I've been already sitting for almost 20 minutes!! They could've told me from the beginning its going to take 30-45 minutes for a manicure so I didn't have to waste my time there. I ALWAYS come here to get my nails done, i even have been doing my eyebrows here for 4 years! I send all of my friends here and always spend so much time and money here. My friends have warned me not to go here because they are not professional and i never listened to them, but today was my last day! I wanted my toe nails polished with a certain color, After the nail tech (didn't even say hi to me just started touching my feet) brought the color and started painting, it didn't look like the color i had asked for. After i had told her loud and clear what color i wanted i thought for sure she would bring me the color i had asked for. After she had finished i dried my toe nails and started walking to the front to pay, and noticed it was not the color i had asked for! It seemed like the lady that did my nails couldn't find the color i had asked for so she just grabbed a color that was similar to the one i asked for. I didn't make it a big deal, i payed and left. After i went home i decided to go back and tell Lucy (the unprofessional business owner) this was not the color i had asked for. I walked in respectfully and asked she changed the color, she told me i would have to pay again. Pay again for her employees mistake? I was going to pay again but after she snapped at me trying to show me the color that was on my toes (which wasn't even the color). Does she think I'm color blind? if anything she should open her eyes!! after i tried to prove her wrong by taking the original color i wanted because i have the same color at home and i know how it looks. She tried to tell me i was wrong! She could have just said she will change it for me and take the blame like a mature business lady, but i guess not. I walked out because i wasn't going to argue with a lady that doesn't know anything about business, i went home and removed the color myself and painted my toe nails the color i wanted at home!! i shouldn't even have went to get my nails done!! She will not be getting another dime from me!! No one deserves to be treated this way especially if you work hard for your money and throw it down the drain to stubborn people LIKE LUCY that doesn't deserve it. I will let all of my friends and family know what she did and make sure she goes out of business because she obviously doesn't need my business or anyone else's thats writing rude reviews!! Read Less
