Thought I found a good place to get my nails done. Walked in today at 1:00 p.m. after being dropped off. Will not go back here. I got a shellac manicure that wrecked my nails, smudged after hours on and wasn't particularly neat. The nail tech put FOUR coats of the color on my nails. At one point, I asked if this brand of polish (which I was unfamiliar with) required more coats than the average and she just said no. I have gotten shellac manicures numerous times and never with more than two coats of color until this time. The polish was red too, so it wasn't a matter of coverage. Later that day, two nails became smudged. Again, this had never happened before. Smudges hours after the manicure?! One nail eventually had a layer chip off - at least there were three more!Finally, after two weeks, I attempted to remove the polish myself in the same way that salons do, which normally takes about 10 minutes per hand, even when I do it at home. After nails on both hands soaked for 30+ minutes, all of the polish still wouldn't come off. It's still not gone after a few more days and go 'rounds with the acetone, and my nails are damaged. I moved to the Detroit Metro Area in the beginning of June this year. I had a lot of trouble finding a regular place to go because I love having my nails done at all times. I found Jolie here on yelp actually and I've been going ever since. The owner Ben is so friendly and accommodating. They keep to their appointment times and accept walk ins as well. I've had technicians get mad at me for asking things like "shorter" or being particular about the look of my nails and at Jolie they never mind listening. I brought my own color in the picture I posted but they do have tons to choose from as well. Just moved to Clawson and I needed to locate a nail salon in the area. I was very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of Jolie's Nails. I went in on 01.15.17 prior to leaving for Florida and did not return to Royal Oak until late March and my shellac was still in perfect condition 😂. I swim and play with my lil Princesses 💜 💜 and Voila my nails still looked wonderful. I've been going here since they 1st opened their nail salon and they now offer even more services like waxing which is only $10 for brows and my shellac/gel UV light manicure always come out to be long lasting as in I went in January prior to leaving for Florida... I Returned back home 🏡 in Royal Oak end of March and manicure was still going strong. It's only $28 dollars plus my $ 7 tip to the nail tech for a gel/shellac manicure well worth it. Worst pedicure I have ever had! Left with calluses and cracked heels. As customers came in I noticed it was a race to between employees to get the next customer.  My manicure was on the ok side. They have done it again... 🌹💗 JenLee on my fingers 💅 and Engal on my 👣....👌my nails and toes/feet look better than they ever have, these sandals 👡are shoes I would have never worn before, I now own 10 pair's of sandals They are the best! I won't go anywhere else. For the poster's who complain about 💵, as with anything, you get what you pay for, and I get the best service and professional behavior here. My experience was horrible! The lady gave a mani/pedi and did not cut my cuticles. It looked as if I had nothing done. The polish was so thick that it took 5 hours to dry. I went back to have them redone. This time the same lady attempted to cut my cuticles and cut me with the nippers. My finger was bleeding and no one cared. I'll NEVER go back again!! Read Less

Just moved to Clawson and have been looking for a new nail place that I can be a regular at. I'm happy to say that today I've found that place, and it's Jolie nail! Benny did an amazing job (I came in in quite a frenzy as I had just destroyed my nails) he was super friendly, my nails are perfect, and prices are great! Walked in on a Monday around 10 with no appointment. Hot Stone deluxe pedicure was $30 and Shellac Mani was $28. Very friendly and nice staff but in my opinion the service lacked a bit......for not having any other clients (compared to where I normally go) the massage wasn't long enough, with or without hot stones the massage is where it's at for me, if you don't take the time when no one else is there, how short would it be if you had someone waiting? Nail color selection is great.my cousin got talked into a French manicure on her shellac mani and reg pedi and it came out beautifully. On my list of ok places, but still in search of a new nail place. I'm tired of the same old stuff for the same (in my opinion) high prices. I want loyalty rewards! I want specials! I want creative nail techs who give me suggestions and cater to my bossy 4 yr old and her demands of sparkles and art on every nail. Do I just have to open my own place? Read Less

Rating based on basic mani/pedi. Their door says open til 6PM Saturday, I was that person who walked in at 5:50 and they were able to get me in for a mani/pedi.Opted out of deluxe Pedicure, only difference is no leg scrub/massage, it was only an extra $5 but I was in a rush.I have damaged looking finger nails from acrylics and they made sure my mani looked great.$35 for the mani/pedi. Lida did an amazing job for my first pedicure of the season.  We all know that first one takes a little more time and effort.  She didn't rush, she was very meticulous with polishing and was very kind.  I will be coming back again for sure.  The salon environment was calm and peaceful.  The male (owner?) never stopped smiling and has a great sense of humor.  Not to mention, they carry just about any color of nail polish you could think of.  Even the very newly released OPI colors are in this salon.  And - in case you're wondering - the hot stones feel amazing!!!  This was a great experience and I highly recommend this salon! I'm not terribly picky about nail salons, but I would definitely recommend you go somewhere other than Jolie Nails. The salon didn't seem terribly clean, and I didn't see my manicurist clean the tools before using them. I got a gel manicure, which lasted 8 days before two of the gels fell off my nails (I have never had a gel manicure fall off, and I have always been able to keep them on for 2 weeks). My manicurist didn't take any care in shaping my nails, and I had to ask her to shape them evenly after she had "finished" them - some were round, some were square, and she left rough edges on all of them. She also did not let me keep my nails in the UV light for the full cycle, rushing me along. She didn't take any care in carefully putting on the gel, either. I've been going to Jolie Nails for at least three years. Jenlee is my nail tech. I absolutely love coming to see her. She understands that my time is limited and is sure to get me in and out as quickly as possible. She's efficient, pleasant, and professional every time I see her.  All the other employees are just as wonderful. It's obvious they take pride in their work. A friend and I needed to catch up and get our nails done on a Saturday morning. We went here because they open an hour earlier than our regular place. We should have spent that hour getting coffee.First, we were the only customers in the place the entire time we were there. My friend needed an acrylic fill and I needed a standard manicure. We were unable to chat because the women doing our nails talked to each other LOUDLY in Vietnamese in spite of our efforts to talk over them. It was as if we weren't even there. So much for a relaxing experience....My friend had her fill and polish and was finished well before me. She said it was like a race! My mani was fair, I brought my own color, but my friend picked one of their polishes off the wall and the polish had to have been thinned down several times - it was translucent after two coats. So much for a quality experience....Another employee came in to clean and moved all of the used pedi sandals to the back of the shop, not putting them in the trash bag she was holding! Went and got a manicure here with a girlfriend when I was home visiting, and I was impressed.  Haven't had my nails done in years and they turned out beautifully.  Have been looking for a place to get my nails +bridal parties nails done for my wedding and they are now on the list as a contender.  Color was beautiful, and shellac lasted a week and a half before it started peeling.  My only complaint is I walked out with 3 of my cuticles bleeding.  Next time, I hope that can be avoided. I can't say enough good things about Jolie nails. The other evening my shelaac was peeling off and my nails was breaking I was looking for a place to get my nails done on my only night off and came across this place on Yelp and decided to go in based on the reviews.  They were very busy so I had to wait but while I was waiting Lida did what was the best pedicure I have ever had. She was efficent but very detailed.  My feet had gotten really bad and she has been the only one to get them soft and supple again! She was very sweet and kind even though I was ticklish and fidgety! I almost fell asleep during the massage, it wasn't just quick rub like most places, she really spoiled me!I was also happy to see that she used a fresh set of tools from an unopened new package. This place is very clean and sanitary.Ben did a full set of gel nails on me and they were on a level of craftmanship, detail and quality that I have never experienced elsewear. He cares for the health of your natural nails and only buffs what is needed to apply the tips and gel rather than drilling your nails raw! The nails were very natural looking, he manages to not do them to thick but at the same time they are very durable without being bulky. He shaped them to absolute perfection, there is no way that people can tell that they aren't your real nails.  They looked even better than the picture i brought in. He is very kind, funny and provides excellent customer service, he made me feel like a very valued customer. That is a rare thing these days.On top of it all their services are very affordable. If you go be sure to make an appointment in advance as they are very busy and they take time to do quality work instead of just rushing through so they can get more people in. I've been here a few times, and I'm not a huge complainer, but my experience last night was kind of awful. The first time I came here, I got a great eyebrow wax and was very pleased. The second time I came for an eyebrow wax, they came out so thin and un-even that I immediately went to Ulta to have them fixed by one of the girls at the Benefit bar (had to fill them in for like 6 weeks!). Last night, I went to Jolie Nails for a mani/pedi, no waxing this time :) The place was bitter cold and I was freezing the whole time, since the pedi chairs are right up against the window. Super uncomfortable. I made sure to come in at about 6:30 since I know they close at 8, and since I was the only one in the salon, they really rushed on my hands and hurried me to leave before my nails were even dry. They all had their coats on, waiting and staring at me while I was sitting under the UV table for a whole 2 minutes. Just getting into my car, I messed up every nail on my right hand. Engel is an Angel. He is the best for pedicures. I've used him for the past two years and will use no one else. I insisted my daughter, who is very picky about her pedicures, let Engel do her feet for her wedding. He did a perfect French pedicure and she will only go to him now.
