Mani-pedis have always been a very rarely appreciated experience for me in Ann Arbor. Most of the work I got done was extremely superficial and minimally cosmetic, without any health benefits. When you want some relief with your feet, whether or not there are ingrown nail issues or just extra build-up of dermis tissue lining the nail, you can be willing to pay this insane amount of money for a decent pedicure. So, despite my grad student budget, I got a Groupon to see Alex at Encore. The atmosphere is quiet nice, I got some tea, put my feet in warm water with moisturizers and jet massage -- I was happy. Then entered Alex. She clipped nails, and fixed their superficial look in a very long time that lasted a very short while after I exited the shop. Now I'm an A-type OCD, especially when it comes to my nails. I have a tendency to bite my nails because I want them to be completely and perfectly smooth and curved. If they scratch fabric, they need to be smoothened right away. After a half-done quickie with my fingernails, I left the studio trying to fix my nails myself on my way home. It was that bad. Don't even get me started on the removal on the dermis layer... So, will I ever go back to Encore Studio? The answer is NO, unless I find someone else to knock my socks off. Read Less
