Let Me First say, my pedicure and the Young Lady, Nhi, was Awesome. Thank God I was able to Tip her First and separately before the rest of the Rude, Arrogant Trio got there nastiness on me... I simply asked that my acrylic nails be removed by soaking, so that my natural nails could be maintained with the dip polish. We all know this takes a while to do... After soaking for nearly 2 hours, without having anyone periodically scrape the residue away, a young man came over and proceeded to pop the acrylics off as he would if I had never asked to be soaked... I immediately for tested and asked him why he thought I had sat here 2 hours to have him come and destroy my nail bed... He said that he thought I wanted them taken off... So after I was sure I was clear what I wanted and was going to get I was made to again wait nearly another 2 hours until my fingers, the Flesh of My Fingers begin to turn white. I demanded that it all be removed at that moment. Finally a young lady came and scraped and removed the acrylic. I was charged $15 for their help... Then the shop worker, as I was asking that the substance be removed from my hands, was sitting directly next to me doing someone's nails, and ignored me! Once I got the other young lady removing the acrylic, the lady who had before ignored me, decided she was going to discuss the situation with the client whose Nails she was taken care of....?!?! This place has terrible service and the owners are incredibly rude. I got a no-chip manicure that chipped and peeled that same day. I called and they said they would re-do it. I came in and said what I was there for. The owners told me to sit down and made me wait for 45 minutes before ever attending to me (others came in after me and left before anyone even attempted to help). Frank(the owner) started redoing my nails then left towards to end to eat lunch... I waited again. Finally his wife finished it up by slapping on the thickest coat of clear polish I’ve ever had on my nails. They didn’t say a word to me throughout this whole interaction. I have come to Diva nails multiple times. It has always been "fine"-- they never seem to be interested in my business but they do a decent nail for a decent price. However, today I went to Diva with a friend. I said that I wanted a manicure, picked out a color, and sat in the chair they told me to sit in. I waited for 25 minutes, being completely ignored until someone asked if I was being helped. I told them that I was just waiting for a manicure. He then proceeded to just start to do a Polish change. When I explained that I was waiting for a full manicure, he rolled his eyes and rudely responded as if I had told him otherwise. I have a full time job and work hard for the money I spend. I treat myself once a month to a manicure and will surely never bring my business back to Diva. I advise everyone else to do the same. Read Less

Do not! And I Repeat Do not ever go to Diva Nails in Arborland Mall. I went there right before New Years to get a fill with ombré pink and pink and I specifically asked both the owner and my nail technician if they had acrylic with glitter in it, they both told me yes, so they told me to start with my feet, I also explained exactly what I wanted for my toes and they said they could do it (had a toenail chip and was told they could fix it) but that never got fixed so me pedicure looks ridiculous. I also wanted them to be a pretty super glittery color and they are not glittery at all. Now it was time for my nails, once I sat in the chair to get my nails done he looked at my nails that I said I wanted filled on and said he refused to do a fill on them because they were coming up in the corners and he was not be able to do a fill. I have been getting my nails done for over 10 years and I know for a fact that I can get a fill if the corners of my nails are coming up a little bit they will just sand it down. He argued with me that it would not look right so I agreed to letting him take all my nails off and starting fresh. Once all my nails were removed he brought out the acrylic which did not have glitter in it as they both had told me previously that it did. So I told him I wanted acrylic with glitter in it and he said no I put the glitter on top it will look brighter and better. I have had my nails done like this in the past and it can look a lot better if you use the right glitter but he did not use the right glitter he used powder glitter and clear nail polish and just dabbed the powder on my nails which was not very glittery at all it looks like I just have pink and white ombre nails. I was OK with the Nails considering it was the day before New Year's and no one else could fit me in on such a short schedule and no one else claimed to have acrylic with glitter in it. So I didn't say anything at the time. I went out for New Year's and enjoyed my night but notice the next morning that both of my thumbnails were literally crack down the middle. Now I don't drink anymore so I know I didn't do anything crazy to cause my nails to crack which means they were cracked from the beginning which means he did a terrible job on my nails. I called the nail salon and asked to speak to the owner who is not very good at speaking English by the way and was told that I could not get any type of refund or a certificate or anything back that all they could do was fix it. I tried to explain to her that as nice as that is I do not wish to come back there because they do not have the acrylic that I wish to use on my nails. Came here when I visited family in the area. My pedicure was great, but I got a HORRIBLE manicure. I did nothing with my hands but by the time I got home they had bubbled up like crazy. It looked terrible! They had taken off my full set of acrylics but hadn't managed to remove them fully and even filed into my nail bed a bit which was painful. Had it ended like that, I would've given them 1 or 2 stars, but when we called the following morning, they squeezed me in and re-did the manicure properly (no charge). I've been here twice since I moved to Ypsilanti. Wish I lived closer so it was more convenient. I've heard good and bad things about the place, but I have never had an issue. They have a ton of seats and tables and you are sat fast. They are one of the cleanest shops I've seen and I've been getting my nails done for years. I like that they use disposable liners in the pedicure bowls and I've never found a reason to complain! Great service and great nails every time. Read Less

I recently had a bed experience at Diva. My friend and I were walk-ins and asked for a pedicure. We were rushed the entire time we were there from picking our our nail polish color, to sitting down, to the actual pedicure, to leaving. Then when we went to pay no one was available to check us out. When I asked someone who could help us, staff just yelled across the room until someone reluctantly showed up. At the end of the pedicure we were given no direction and just left in a large room to let our nails dry. When I got home I noticed that my polish was uneven, not to the edge of my nail, and on my skin. I will not be back. Read Less

I have been going there since March, and got a full set of acrylic nails. First set perfectly fine and lasted a few fill- ins. After that my nails would pop off clean after a weeks of getting them done. Went to a place in NC on vacation and they told me they did them all wrong. I want to like DIVA nails. They used to do high quality work for the price. These days the quality has fallen off. I consistently leave feeling meh about my nails and regretting my decision to give this salon another chance. Today was the last straw. Poor quality job on hands and feet and I paid $40 for both. Total rip off! I should have spent my money elsewhere. Save yourself the regret and go somewhere else. You could get the same poor quality work for a 1/3 of the price at another salon. Read Less

Went here for the first time yesterday, I got the guy- which after reading these reviews at first I was nervous, he was fine. I prefer my nail rounded and he fixed them or me. He was quick, efficient, and friendly which was perfect for my time crunch. The place was completely packed but I only waited >10 mins. It stayed backed the entire time I was there too, but everything was clean and smooth functioning. I saw the owner while I was there working on a customer, yeah she had to get up and deal with things every once an a while because she owns the place but she was very funny and charming and never made you feel like you were second choice behind her duties yakno managing the store. Only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars was while i was there I saw girls finger start bleeding when a trainee cut her nail bed to short. Manager immediately jumped in and took the nail tech off the floor. She fixed the girl up with no charge and gave her a free return coupon. All in all would recommend and will return. Read Less

I was visiting Ann Arbor for a wedding and my girl friend heard this nail salon was a good one. We made an appointment which apparently meant nothing. We were there at our reserved time but sat and waited for a solid 10 minutes (at least we sat in the pedicure massage times, so I'm not even complaining, just stating a reservation means nothing). The salon itself is one of the nicer nail salons I've ever been in. New pedicure chairs, clean, just a nice place overall. The manicurists weren't unfriendly but they weren't especially friendly either; they just kind of did their jobs and that was it. Which I guess is all I need. However, I mostly came here to write a review because it was THE BEST gel manicure I've ever had. For one, they had THE LARGEST GEL COLOR SELECTION I'VE EVER SEEN. It was hard to choose, but I selected a gold glitter gel color and it didn't come out glittery enough, and I told her I didn't like it, so she added more glitter. It ultimately came out looking great. The best part was that it lasted a solid two weeks. I only had it removed because my nails were getting too long and I didn't want to deal with them anymore. The photos I'm uploading are two full weeks after getting this manicure. I also got a standard pedicure, which also lasted a solid two weeks (but I'm an idiot and I messed it up by putting shoes on before it was fully dry; my mistake, not theirs). The gel mani/regular pedi cost me about $65 so it's a little on the pricey side but I'd say considering the quality, it's worth it. The two reasons I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is that they weren't very friendly or welcoming, we did have to wait when we specifically made an appt to avoid having to wait, and the price was on the high end. I've been coming to Diva Nail Salon for 4 years.  Over time I've gotten to know certain nail technicians that do a fantastic job.   Today I went for a mani/pedi and the technician was wonderful.  I was saddened to see that some of the regulars that have been there for a number of years are now gone.  The owner is not the friendliest and may be the reason for such turn over.  The salon is clean,  and always busy, based on reviews I read on Google, hopefully the few familiar faces will stay.  Something definitely needs to change to prevent turnover of customers as well..... Went here monthly for 2 years, took a long break due to financial prioritizing and returned to the same wonderful nail spa. After many great experiences here, my husband and I decided to come and get pedicures to start our wedding anniversary. We were told a 15-20 minute wait. We sat in pedicure chairs for 45 minutes as they started pedicures on 4 people who walked in after us, and when we began to grab our things and leave, the staff tried to tell us that all of those people "had appointments". Not one of the people who walked through the door said they had an appointment, since we were sitting within ear shot and able to hear. The absolute worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon, which included the nail tech shouting at me across the room. Will NEVER be coming back. I walked in with my mom and sister about 20 minutes before they were closing so I was prepared to leave if they weren't able to take us. The nail tech said she could only do two manicures so I had my mom and sister go for it. My mom chose her color right away and the nail tech started but was clearly annoyed. She became hostile when my mom pointed out that she had missed painting the sides of her nails. My sister was having a hard time choosing a color. A few minutes into browsing, another nail tech said that if she wasn't ready, they wouldn't take her. She decided to skip the manicure altogether. Meanwhile, my moms manicure was so rushed that she didn't even get a proper massage, let alone the fact that the nail tech was extremely rude when providing the service that we were PAYING for. When I went to the counter to pay, I told the nail tech that what she had really done was a polish change, not a manicure and should be charged as such. She began to argue and yell at me, saying that my mom was lying about not getting a massage, when I was right there the whole time and didn't see it happen. After paying for the manicure (not polish change), the nail tech told us to "stop talking and get out" from across the store when other customers asked us what had happened. I refused to leave until my mom was finished drying her nails. Absolutely unbelievable. I cannot believe that they are running a business with that kind of customer service, which is absolutely none. I will never be returning and will ensure that my family and friends know how Diva treats customers as well. Read Less

Be careful I've been coming here for a couple years and today they charged $22 to paint my daughters nails because I ask for a little water in the bowl to be like mommy! But by the time they got to her which was forever I told them don't worry about adding water then the lady said its ok she's always here and she's good and did the water! Any way moral of the story it's $25 for a pedi I paid $22 for her to splash and water and get a little paint not to mention we left two minutes ago and three of her nails are messed up! They do the best nails I've ever received in Ann Arbor. The quality is consistent for the shellac manicure I pay for. I'll drive out of my way to go to this place. I would highly recommend if you want to get service, get there early and pick a random day like Monday.The reason why I give them 2 instead of 5 stars is because:1) It will get busy on certain days and they will turn customers away and literally say "Come back another day" or "You should go to our other location" (absolutely NOT as good - I have tried it), or "We aren't taking anymore clients for today" (weren't closed for another 1.5 hours - happened once).2) You can make an appointment but it doesn't fully secure you, as a wait is always inevitable unless they are slow. 3) The customer service could be better. Sometimes the women (and a few men) are so focused on taking the next customer they barely listen to what you have to say when you walk in and what service you want and just tell you "pick a color" and just say it in a rude tone and seem bored and miserable. They need to learn not to speak badly about customers in Vietnamese in front of them. More people know that language than they realize. Read Less

Honestly, I was a regular there. Every two weeks I would go in for my shellac mani and pedi. But! I was there for hours . I ALWAYS call and make an appointment but they take walk ins first before appointments. My mom waited over an hour once and they asked her to come back another time. It isn't a relaxing and welcoming experience anymore. This is the first time I haven't had my nails done in 3 months and I dread going back. I feel that if the person is working on me.. I've been frequenting this salon for the past few months. I'd taken off my overlay and shot for shellac instead. Every two weeks, usually a Friday I am there after work. While they are usually busy, that's a pretty good sign that they are pretty good. They have LOTS of shellac selections and that's really the main reason. I noticed today while getting a pedicure that two white women were greeted very kindly, had their coats removed and were asked if they'd like a beverage. Out of the 4 months that I've visited I've NEVER been offered a beverage. Today, I couldn't decide on a color. About 30 seconds into looking my nail tech pat me roughly on the back and asked if I was ready ... Clearly I wasn't. After maybe a minute later she asked again. I quickly grabbed something I didn't want and proceeded to the pedicure chair. I changed my mind again she huffed and told me to pick my color. I did. She rushed through my pedicure. Rushed through my manicure and because she was so engaged in conversation with her neighbor she also forgot the glitter I requested. I'm am not happy with the customer service but I'm happy with the job they do. I'm now searching for a spa that will honor a standing appointment that will realize that IM PAYING for a service. Stopped in for a fill and a few repairs last night, was told to "pick a color and have a seat" Sat and waited for 35 minutes, then one of the techs came and asked me if I was there for a mani pedi, told her "no a fill please" she then told me "Oh we do not have time for you but you can come back tomorrow" Sorry babe, but if my money is not good enough for you today I sure as heck will not be back tomorrow. I went here a couple years ago on a regular basis and decided to come back and get my nails done for New Years.I came at 11am (they open at 10am) and got in right away.I got a full set with gold polka dots and white tips for $40 + tip (no gel).My nail tech was Long -- he paid extreme attention to detail and what I wanted done.The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating was because Long nicked me once (though it seems that my skin is super sensitive so it's a rare occasion when I don't get nicked).I will definitely be going back to him for my fills. We came here because my friend said they had a student discount ($5 off). But I won't be going back. We said we were willing to wait for the mani/pedi combo because they were busy but they said it was fine and just rushed it so much. My toenails are fine but the nails look shitty, she didn't go all the way to where the cuticle is and you can tell where the first coat of color was and where  the second was. It was 40 for the combo but I'd rather pay more for better service. Read Less

Very very RUDE staff. There are about 15 people working at a time, and I wasn't greeted within the first 15 minutes of being there. The entire time the nail techs make jokes that aren't in English and the day I went the person I was working with made a rude comment about if I could pay for the service or not. Everyone was friendly and the place looked really nice. These are the two things I find most nail salons lack but Diva was very nice. The pricing was confusing at first. A pricing menu on the wall may be helpful but once we found the brochures we were good. It was very busy when we came in around 6:30pm for mani Pedis, so we waited about 20 minutes to be seen. After that they gave us our pedicure and then asked us to pay. It was then 7:30(There closing time) To recap: The g...ood- The staff is friendly and the place is eye pleasing and clean. NEVER and I repeat NEVER go to this place with your own nail color. You'll regret it. Other than that this is a more than sufficient place to meet your nail care needs. I would suggest for those of you who don't feel the need to change their nail color every two seconds to enjoy the wonder of shellac. A word of caution though, once it starts to chip (which won't be for at least 3 weeks)  go back and have them remove it. Most of you won't need such advice as you regularly tend to your nails already. The service is efficient,  the ladies are friendly enough and there's a vast array of shopping and eating to be done before and after your nail appointment. The prices are okay,  not phenomenal, but after almost 2 years I still haven't become accustomed  to the fact that getting your nails done in Ann Arbor is more expensive than in the city of New York.
