My acrylic nails look awful, so not worth the high prices. Some of my nails are crooked, nails polish is dripped underneath all dried up and they are not smooth and even. The lady that did my nails did not talk to me whatsoever about my nails. Do not recommend this place. Read Less

It is hit or miss, depending upon which manicurist you get and even then they may not be consistent. Polish will chip/peel within days. Beware if they ask you if you want a "manicure". I would ask for shellac and they would say "oh okay, manicure" as if it was the same or included. I would reply yes not knowing any different. It is very deceptive as they charge you extra and the only difference is they cut your cuticles and massage some lotion on your hands along with the polish change. I usually only get pedicures so when I got a manicure here I thought it was normal for them to cut the cuticles on my fingers. I went more than once and they always did it. One manicurist however cut so much that it made me bleed so the next time I went I told my manicurist that I didn't want my cuticles cut, that's when I was told "well you just want a color change, not a manicure". If they would have explained that in the beginning instead of using their deceptive technique to get me to say yes to a manicure I would have not have allowed them to do that each visit. Now my cuticles grow in thicker than before from having them cut so much and are not the same. I did some research and the practice of cutting cuticles is illegal and many states for various reasons. I’m very disappointed I used a gift card to get my nails done I took my daughter for her 13th birthday they wanted to separate us and do her nails at one end then me at opposite end gave me a dirty look when I said no that’s my kid we’re here together. So finally they put us by each other remind you we were only one at time getting our nails done so it wasn’t that they were busy they just opened. Anyhow the gentleman named Henry did my nails one of them are uneven and the gel overlay isn’t even over the nails completely and there’s bumps there not all smooth they couldn’t do the right glitter on my nails I’m very upset I called and left two messages for the manager to fix my nails but no answer back. Done on January 1st, this terrible establishment proceeded to do gel on my nails after I repeatedly asked for acrylic. It's been less than a week, this is how my nails look currently. This was a terrible job, literally the worst my nails have ever been. They are uneven and they charged me $45 for this full GET set when I asked for the $30 acrylic set. You have been warned. I really wanted to enjoy my experience here, but the value and service I received was just simply unacceptable. Instead of griping about every little thing that went wrong like the rudeness of a few staff members (not all, of course), I'll focus on the main issue. I paid for a simple, one-color gel manicure that chipped in less than 24 hours. By the third day (today) I've had 4.5 nail colors peel off completely. First, I called to get pricing on a full set, fill and manicure.  I was quoted 30, 20 and 10....We went in for the services.  The salon was VERY unsanitary and dirty, garbage was overflowing, nail tools were not being replaced back into to sterilizer, there was no wipe down of stations between clients - just not cleanly at all.My (13 year old) daughter had a full set of nails put on by an older woman.....they were like shovels...and the length was  if she didnt cut the tip down at all.  I asked her to cut them down...she told me "let me finish ...they will be fine...they're not done yet"...so I did.  As she began to paint them..I again asked her why they were so long...and she proceeded to tell me "let me do my job".....I noticed a lot of file marks over the polish...as they were not smooth nor buffed down..I asked her about this and i could clearly tell she was getting upset with my questions....needless to they were awful!   When I Went to pay they chaged me 40 for the set...30 for the fill and 20 for the manicure...when I questioned this...the front desk person played stupid.  I asked for a manager and questioned the pricing...i was told because the nails were longer they charged more for this plus shapping!!!WHAT??? I never asked for length...or a special coffin or princess shape!At this point I paid 102.00 and left!  I did however call back later to speak to a manager and he told me to come in the next day at 11 and he would fix my daughters dagger nails.  We arrived at 11...awaited 30 minutes..then was told to come back at 5!!!! I asked for dip gel when I booked the appointment. Not sure how but I ended up with a dip polish. The young woman who did my nails didn't even say hello. The girl at the front always has an attitude. When I commented that she didn't do my cuticles she said that that didn't come with dip powder. Basically I spent $40 for nothing but to get treated rudely and my nails look like crap. Decided this would be a nice place for my bridal party and I to get my nails done and it was the worst decision! Went in a few days before to ask if the nail techs could do the simple design I wanted for my wedding day and was assured they could. DO NOT GO TO THIS NAIL SALON! I had to file a police report on one of the older ladies that did my nails... she slapped me hard on my hand after she I picked out 5 different colors and every time she told me she didn't have it so I asked her so what do you have and she told me nothing that will look good on my skin tone. This place is a nightmare everyone is rude and disrespectful . The police got the angry women flinging my hands and aggressively doing my nails on tape. She was giving me an attitude from the moment I walked in... I don't know if she was mistaking me for someone else or if she was having a bad day by every one of her staff were strongly defending her without even hearing what I had to say. I normally don't do this but I was very disappointed today. I made a 7:30pm appointment at 12pm for a mani and pedi. When I got there on time I was told to pick my polish. I was looking and noticed that some of the polishes were labeled $5 extra. Very tacky, polish is polish unless it is shellac. I picked my polish and was standing there trying to figure out where to sit. I went to the front desk and I was told "any chair". After sitting at a pedicure chair for 30 mins with no water started for me to at least sit and soak, I left. I literally watched employees drag their feet. Four of us were there on Sat. April 29th. We signed in and was told they would have some one available in 40 minutes. So we did some light shopping for 40 min and went back. They told us there was no way they could get 4 of us in at the same time. Not even two of us. They told us it would be at least another 40 min. Do not waste your time or money on this place! I came in with my daughter for a mommy daughter day together, and I showed the lady a picture of what I wanted done. It was an ombré pink n yellow with palm trees on the big toes. I sat in there for 3 hours waiting for her to finish my toes. Other people came n went while I continued to sit n wait. She cut me bad 3 times on one toe n it bled where it's obviously gonna scab n look bad. When you come in for a pedicure you wanna relax n feel good, you don't want to keep getting cut where your in pain. Anyways, at the end she tried to draw a palm tree n could not do it and got upset with me when I asked if someone else could. She said if you don't like my work you wait for someone else and it'll be another hour. Another hour? Are you kidding me?! I've been here for 3 hours! So I look at her end result and my toe is still bleeding and my skin is stained from where she tried to do the ombré and it looked horrible. I asked them to work with me on the price because it was $58 for their chop job they did, and they refused saying I could go sit down again and they would just take the color off. Seriously? I've been going there for 17 years and have always paid their high prices without ever complaining and tipping very well each time. While talking about it to the owner, her mother got up and came over to me and grabbed my arm hard and tried to yank me into a chair!! I called the police and when they arrived they all lied of course saying that she never touched me and I owed them 140$ for my 9 year old daughters nails n toes painted and my messed up toes. Not only did I call them but I was showed so much disrespect by the police and FOXY NAILS! I was ripped off and humiliated! I messed up the shellac mani I got at another salon bad. Real bad. I had gotten it done a week and a half ago and the fact I could see my nail growth was bothering me, so in my infinite wisdom decided maybe I can make the mani last longer and put some glitter polish on the bare base of my nail. It went horrible. So horrible in fact I drove across Ann Arbor to get to Briarwood to fix my mistake after a salon closest to me was closed by 7:30pm.When I walked in I was greeted immediately and assured they had time for a shellac removal and regular mani. Wiped the sweat off my brow and went to go pick my color. I waited for a couple minutes before a technician came over to grab me. I sat down and embarrassingly told her what I did to my nails to which she smiled, but not a judge-y smile. Shellac removal was fairly quick, and she did a great job removing all that horrible glitter from around my nails. When it was time for the mani, she spent a great deal of time cleaning up my nails, more than I've ever experienced. I was pleasantly surprised. She was also very meticulous on both painting my nails and removing any polish she may have gotten on my skin.Mani was done so off to the dryers I went. Technician was kind enough to bring over my jacket and purse so I wouldn't ruin my nails. Well, I did anyway, two in fact. I sat for one round in the dryer and put my coat on and BAM smudged two nails. Great. I walk over and told her I screwed up and apologized. She immediately fixed the two nails and I went for another two rounds under the dryer, just to be sure.Walked out with my nails looking good, and a regular mani and shellac removal was only $23!   I tipped a little over 20% so I walked out spending $28. *For a laugh, go look at my picture. This place is okay if you want to kill time. I went with my mom and we both got simple manicures. A nail trim and polish. Nothing difficult.My mom and I had different experiences.Her manicurist proceeded to talk her out of a nail polish choice and instead put a polish color she liked best. Her nails weren't painted well either. It looked rushed. The guy I had was very kind, and efficient. He did a nice job for what it was. This place isn't great if you're trying to relax. Stay away from this place! They suck! I went there a week ago, because my regular salon is closed on Sundays, for pedicure and full arm waxing. I had the worst waxing experience ever. The Chinese lady did a very bad job. She was in too much hurry and waxed only half my hand and said she was done and started cleaning up.I had to insist and show her almost half the hand she had left with hair. In the second hand she waxed one area three times and peeled my skin off. Really disappointed! They had taken my number and said that the owner will call me. It has been more than a week and I have not received any call yet. Either the owner was not communicated about the fiasco or did not care to call back. The shop looks pretty nice. But, they are always too busy, which results in customers waiting for ridiculous amounts of time. Instead of just saying the true wait time is an hour or so. I've had shellac done here twice. The first time, my white polish turned pink the next day. Both times it didn't look good after only a few day. The wait time was extremely long and I made an appointment. Once I was seated, I was disappointed to find that they use UV lamps for shellac instead of LED lamps, which is more modern and safer for your skin. My nails were extremely messy and once I finally took off my shellac, it was difficult to remove and damaged my nails a lot. Don (?? can't remember his name) did a fabulous job on my pedi and didn't rush through it, Mimi did my acrylic fill and polish. She kept apologizing for having to stop to wait on people coming in or calling people to come back in due to her receptionist was off today and she had to handle the receptionist duties and clients. Mimi did a great job. I would travel back to Waterford to have my nails and pedi from the same guy I went to for years (and I've lived in Ypsi for 2 years now) but I finally found a place close to home. This was the worst experience I've ever had getting my nails done. I asked for a full shellac manicure, and some acrylics for a few nails that had broken just to even everything out until they grew back. I was referred to the manicurist Winnie, who made the biggest mess all over her table and on my hands while she worked. It was kind of gross having all of the filings all over my hands, her hands, etc. I had leftover black nail polish on my nails that she didn't bother to clean off, she never soaked my hands/trimmed around my cuticles and nail beds, she just stuck the tips on my nails and put the acrylic polymer over them and started putting on the polish. So once she finished with the shellac, I asked her to please clean up around my nail beds, as I had been under the impression that a basic manicure was included either with the acrylic application or the shellac, as has been my experience at every other nail salon. I had to repeatedly ask her to clean up nail polish she had gotten on my hands and fingers, along with glue from the acrylics. I thanked her when she finished and went to the counter to check out, and the girl behind the counter barely acknowledged me, she mumbled and rolled her eyes when I asked a question about whether I could leave a tip on the receipt. She never really answered me, but I wrote in my standard 20% tip, but silently vowed to never ever step foot in that place again. It has been over 10 years since I have been to Foxy nails, back when our would airbrush the white tips on anew acrylic set. My nails have consistently been with acrylics for almost 2 years and I have been trying new places every couple of fills. No matter how many places I have tried, I have never been IN LOVE with their work/acrylic pink and white nails but yesterday I went in 10 minutes before closing, on a Sunday and I was seen right away, the woman took such care and time in ensuring you nails were perfect. Just because she is an artist and she wants her work perfect. It took no time at all and they are the best nails I havr ever had! All of my nails are the same length, she followed exact directions and I am absolutely in love with my new set of nails and now my new nail salon! I would absolutely recommend Foxy Nails!!! I have came here a few times this year and each time was a good experience. However, today was the best one yet. I got the milk and honey pedicure. My nail tech went by Tiny and she took her time with me. I don't think my feet have ever felt so soft. She was attentive and continually asked if everything was okay like the water or just my comfort in general. I just wish it didn't take so long to dry my nails because I always put my socks on too soon and ruin everything -__- Anywho ask for Tiny or Jenny and they'll take good care of you. The reason why I gave them 3 stars and maybe 2, because they sent me to desk 5 then the staff moved me to another staff then another one because she thought she wanted to rest. I came in for an eyelash extension.  I've never had it done and was incredibly nervous about the whole process.  I asked for the $40 eyelash package, and the woman who worked there said that the $100 and $100+ package would give me a higher quality/less fake-looking eyelash.  I did not want to spend that much on it and insisted that I would go for the $40 package.  The process itself wasn't uncomfortable but my eyes did water throughout.  When looking at the end result, I saw that she glued the eyelash extension onto 2-3 real eyelashes near the water line.  She told me that I should avoid washing the eye area and just be careful not to rub my eyelashes.  When I asked her about removing them and if my real lashes would be pulled out, she said that if I was careful with them then it shouldn't.I liked the end result and was happy with them for about 7 days and then by day 12 I was ready to get them off.  The removal process took about 1.5 hours!  She let my lashes soak in the removal liquid and would periodically come check on me.  She gently tugged at the extensions with tweezers to check if it would release and then put more removal liquid on. I was glad that she was being careful with my lashes but I thought the process took a really long time.  Cost for removal was $30.The most disappointing part was that I did lose about 1/4 of my real lashes.  There are parts where I can tell they were pulled out.  My real lashes are not as full as they once were. I'm just hoping that they grow back soon.  In the end, I would not get them done again and I'll just stick with mascara next time. Read Less

I had just a horrible experience here. I came here for a pedicure but ended up waiting for 40 minutes, saw a dead ant in the water that my feet were supposed to go in, and was virtually ignored because the salon was very busy. To be fair, I arrived about 20 minutes before this store closed and they were very busy. However, I made sure to call in advance and the girl at the front desk assured me that I would be seen in 10-15 minutes, no problem. Obviously, not true. I understand that the salon does get busy but it is unreasonable to expect your guests to wait that long especially if you assure them a pedicure sooner. Also, when I pointed out the dead ant, the woman working there simply drained the water and wiped down the bin with sponge. It looked like a random sponge she didn't even put any kind of soap on, as if rubbing a dirty sponge in the bin makes it cleaner. They did eventually put water in the tub but didn't stick around to make sure the water temp was okay. I tried to change it myself bc it was way too cold but by that point I realized that this was not a salon that deserved my money and left without a pedicure.Needless to say, coming here was a waste of my time. Briarwood foxy nails is a great place. My wife goes there regularly. She loves there services offered and the salon is very friendly and clean. There very conviently located at the mall, so the kids and I shop while she is being pampered. I highly recommend briarwood foxy nails, it under new ownership with Mimi, and she does amazing work. Where do I begin to describe how incredible Foxy Nails is. I have been going here for years and years. Nail techs, managers, decor, it has all come and gone but one thing has never changed...Foxy Nails is THE BEST nail salon in Ann Arbor. Period. I am super picky about my manicures, I travel all around the world...no one does the job like they do here. I refuse to have my nails done anywhere else.I have LouAnn or Beau work on my nails...they are truly incredible. Pay super attention to detail and always clean everything up perfectly.
