I love this nail salon. There's not many to choose from in Hanson... so I'm always searching elsewhere for quality service. Calming Lotus is my favorite. It's always super busy (because it's very popular) but it doesn't show in their skills. Mr. T is my FAVORITE there, I've been to many different salons and he's always made my nails perfect. The service at this salon is usually great. I have had two bad experiences with the same woman.For  what is supposed to be a relaxing manicure and pedicure, I leave there more stressed out than when I came in due to the fact that she is unbearably rough. Her massages are painful and she impatiently pounds on your legs if you are not paying attention and wants you to put them back in the water. When I went there the other day, she ended up cutting me in between my toes. I actually told her she was hurting me and she ignored me. Also when she is painting your nails, she digs her finger nails into your nail bed and its extremely painful. My advice to the owner would be to have her give you a pedicure. They were rude when I came in asking for only a manicure. They kept trying to get me to do gel nails even though I said no three times. Didn't talk to me at all when they were actually doing my nails and the lady left smudges on my fingers. Maybe it was a bad day for them, I'm not sure. But I will not be coming back here. Read Less

I waited 45 minutes just to have a how polish change! Before being helped I let the nail technician know that I had a leg injury and could not hold my leg still too long, which she said was fine. But then she got very angry when I told her I had to move my leg to escape the pain. On top of all this, my toe polish has mostly chipped off after 2 days of not doing too much! I've been to many many nail salons and Calming lotus is absolutely the best. Not only is the salon beautiful and so clean, all the women are so friendly and nice. They offer so many great services at a reasonable price. Their pedicure is the best I've ever gotten and still at a reasonable price. I decided to go here because they are open on Sundays.  When I got there a girl handed me a basket of nail colors without introducing herself or welcoming me.  At first I thought I sat in her seat lol.  Anyway, the service was decent as was the manicure but $ 30 for a fill?  Seriously? and the gentleman that did my manicure bruised my hand from being too rough with the "hand massage"....won't go back. I received a gift certificate for Christmas and tried the salon out today. I'm pretty impressed. It's a bit more pricey than I'm used to but totally worth it. I had an anti aging facial. It was amazing. She took her time and didn't rush a thing. The salon is super clean and very well maintained. I'll be going back for other services as well. I highly recommend them. Read Less

They are obnoxious about up selling their other services. When I walked in I said I needed a pedicure, I didn't ask for anything else. She asked me twice about getting my eyebrows done and about getting a manicure even though I told her I had just had both done, she even took my hand into hers and looked at my freshly done nails and still asked twice! They took my friend 20 minutes before me and we got there at the same time, with at least 2 technicians doing nothing in the salon. I was about to leave when a man finally sat me down and started filing my nails. He did a nice job cutting and shaping my nails and was very quick. However the top coat he used seemed to be too thick and 4 of my nails smudged within 12 hours. Good for when your regular salon is busy but I will not be returning. Read Less

The owner/boss lady is a crook!  And I am being nice as there are other words for her.BEWARE of the non English conversations.My sister was charged $67 for a mani pedi and they refused to explain in English what the extra charges were.  and told me I couldn't see the bill?   What business doesn't show customers a bill?????? Or gets offended when u ask?THEN......My card was charged TWICE!!!  Just filed a claim with my bank!!!! WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!  Don't give them your business!  There are plenty other nail salons!! Beautiful new salon in Whitman.  I took my daughter and I here last week for pedicures, and they were amazing.  I went by myself today for a full set of nails.  Maggie did them, and they're beautiful.  The decor is very calming and tasteful, the staff very friendly (especially Maggie!).  They have a special until the 31st of 20% off and a free eyebrow wax.  Admittedly, I was thinking "Um, I'm probably going to pass on the eyebrow wax, because one mis-swoop, and your face is done for, but there's something about Maggie I trusted, and she was done in literally 5 minutes and my brows look great.  I will say, though, they're a new salon, with great reviews, so be prepared to wait a bit on weekends, especially if you don't have an appointment.  I'm sure that will all filter out eventually, but it really is worth the wait. The Best Nail spa in the South Shore. Maggie and her expert nail techs go beyond providing a manicure/pedicure. This is truly a Spa experience! The beautiful surroundings in an historic building in Whitman Ma with antique wood flooring and beautiful Calming decor set the stage for a wonderful pampering experience. She provides the latest specialty pedicures. I received the expresso coffee pedi which was wonderful. All new equipment and pedi chairs and they line their pedicure basins with plastic disposable liners and use disposable manicure utensils as well which gave me so much confidence. I hosted a private girls night out party there last night and everyone was pleased with the whole experience.
