Got a pedi yesterday and I wasn't pleased. The service itself was great, but the end result, not so much. For 35$ we got the leg scrub, foot massage, massage with hot rocks and then a back massage while our nails were drying. All great! When they were dry, I took a good look at them and noticed that a lot of my nail near the cuticle, wasn't painted. I told the kid who did them and his response was "I didn't go all the way down to the cuticle because it will start to chip after 2-3 days". I almost fell on the floor! Then he said something about my toenails being too small?!?! I have friends who have nails much smaller than mine and their pedis look nothing like mine! Cleanest salon I've ever been to! The included extras you receive make it fabulous! Hot stone massage on your legs with a pedi, Paraffin wax on your hands with a mani, and then they give you a nice shoulder massage while the paraffin wax sets. I'll be a regular for sure. I called ahead for a pedicure and requested Kathy. She did an amazing job on my toes. This salon is very clean and focuses on massage. I love the paraffin wax on my heels it's so soft. She even massaged my neck and shoulders as I sat down waiting for them to dry. It's worth the $35 I love it there. Read Less

It takes a LOT for me to write a negative review.... actually I'm not sure I ever have BUT.... They charged me almost $50 for my 4 year old to get her nails painted. I do request gel for her fingers, that I BRING so I know it has safe ingredients for her nails ....because it lasts. We use regular polish on her toes. Any other salon I have brought her to charges me $15-$20 TOPS... but $50? Her nails are tiny she was done in 20 minutes. I have no problem paying a little more f...or a good service but that was ridiculous . When my mother and I questioned why her nails cost so much I was told "we don't have children's pricing for gel ONLY regular polish." This came straight from the manager. That made no sense. It's too bad because I sat with Roy today who I really enjoyed. He did a nice job. But I won't go back to a place that rips off someone that brings their baby girl for a day of beauty! **3 1/2 Stars**This salon made me feel glamorous! They were gracious in allowing my sister in law and me to get services on a busy Saturday morning. They also offered complimentary drinks and snacks.But..the services were rushed and a little overpriced. I almost felt teased because they gave me a leg and shoulder massage, but about 30 seconds each side. For a $40 pedicure, I needed more! If I could give no stars I would . Went here today for a 10:30 appointment , was out of my chair at 11 . 35$ for a less than thirty minute pedicure is beyond ridiculous. Asked the guy three times to cut my cuticles around the toes considering that is why I get them done and do not do them on my own. He rolled his eyes out of frustration each time I tried to point out where I needed him to revisit . Not only did he not ask me if I wanted my toes cut or filed he also did not file the bottom of my feet or exfoliate my legs . That being said my toenails are all way too short and all you see is dead skin around the rim of my toes ... which I also asked him to remove ! I had best experience ever at Aria!  It is so clean & modern in there. They use pedicure tub-liner and all the tools were diposable. It surely was cleanist salon I've been to. Atmosphere was very luxiourious and relaxing. I was greeted warmly by receptionist and lead to pedicure chair and got most epic pedicure in my life. Even the one I got in Vegas was not as good as this one. I had HOT STONE MASSGE & PARAFFIC on my heel! I have come to Aria regularly for over two years.  After my last experience I am not going back.  Instead of feeling relaxed I was feeling like I was a bother to the clinjcian.  I considered leaving in the middle of it.  When I tried to explain I had a split nail she was just not interested.  Then when I wanted to pay with my debit card she said I couldn't.  Yet the gal next to me said she had paid with hers.  I know they like cash for tips and I was prepared for that.  Anyway I am sure I can find a place where the client is treated better and it will even cost less! I have been going here regularly but after my last experience I am not going back . I felt so uncomfortable the whole time as if I was bothering the girl working on me. I wanted to get a decal on my nails which I had had before there and she acted like I was an alien. Anyway. When I first walked in I though the place was beautiful. I went in today to receive a manicure and a pedicure. The spa pedicure was great with the hot stones and massage. They didn't rush me. I just felt that the expectation of a $60 pedicure wasn't met. The main reason was because the employees talking Chinese over you and to each other. I can (and have) received better service elsewhere for the same price. I believe the focus should be on the client at all times, not talking to fellow colleagues. Read Less

Overall I've had good experiences at Aria. It's clean, staff is friendly and the mani/pedi has been good for the most part. The last time I was in, however, I felt the tech was rushing through the service. As soon as I told her I wanted the basic pedi, it was full steam ahead. She went so fast, and in doing so, clipped the skin around my toes leaving three cuts. The pedicure, which is honestly the highlight of the mani/pedi combo in my opinion, was not the least bit relaxing. She flew through the manicure as well which I don't mind as much because I don't find the mani all that relaxing anyway (outside of the nice massage!)  My feedback would be to slow down, and try to provide a good customer experience for all customers regardless of how much money they are spending! The service I received yesterday for a pedicure and a gel manicure was great. What I didn't like was a woman had come in asking if she could get a "quick gel manicure". It was around 11am and most of the workers were sitting around not doing anything. They started mimicing the woman saying "quick gel manicure" over and over to each other and started laughing. I found this very unprofessional. Either you have time or you don't. Don't make fun of your paying customers!!! A...nother thing, this time it did not happen because the girl I had was VERY sweet and I wish I could remember her name, but other times I have been in there the guys and girls who work there will sit there and talk to each other in another language which completely makes me feel uncomfortable!!! Even looking at their phones while working on my manicure and laughing and talking back and forth. Again, I am a paying customer- I am the priority when you are with me!! I love Gloss in Melrose because the workers NEVER talk to each other unless work related and ALWAYS make you feel like the priority!!! I like Aria though because I like the extra services and they have more gel colors to chose from. Please be more professional with your customers!!!! I have no idea why this place gets negative reviews. I just went yesterday knowing I wanted my nails done but not exactly sure what. After explaining to them what it was I was really looking for, I decided to go with the UV gel set. It was actually $20 cheaper than the other kind of full set that they have but because of what it was that I was looking for he recommended the one that was better for me even though it was cheaper for them. He did such a great job and was so nice. And I didn't even realize that they do the paraffin wax hand treatment in the massage even with the full set I thought it was just for the regular manicures! This is my first time going there for my pedicure but not happy with the work. The lady who is working with me doesn't know how to use all the things that should be use in cutting and extra. I told her to use other cuter to cut my side of my toe nails because it is painful but she does know how to use the cutter too and she use a regular nail cutter. Even she didn't cut my cuticles nicely she just polish. Horrible experience not happy don't want to pay but again i don't want a drama too so I paid. Never go there again. Read Less

I just walked out of aria. I made an appt at 1230 for a gel mani and a pedi. Its not my usual place been there about a dozen times before but today I walk into a zoo, now it's a few days before Easter I get its going to be busy I accept that. I went to pick my color and sat around and was ignored for 30 mins. I knew this wasn't going to be enjoyable but I still had some hope. Finally they led me to the pedicure chair had me soak my feet and said someone would be with me soon... 15 minutes later I am still soaking my feet in cold water no one noticed me.I had enough and walked out wet feet and all. I've been to aria for years now. Every time I swear the experience is worst than the one before. One time one of the male technicians actually said my friend looked like an alcoholic who needs help. Today was the last straw. I'm five months pregnant and it's also my birthday! We had an appointment for 3, and they sat three other people down and left all five of us sitting in cold water (one of them weren't even turned on)! There was no one in sight ready to take care of us. And this happens almost every single time. They overbook, they give horrible service and they criticize you. Insane. It was a little pricier ($70 for Green Tea Spa Pedi) than I like, but aside from that it was great and well worth it if you just want to pamper yourself. I just left here so angry I'm almost crying. I've been here countless times and been very very happy with my experience most times. But the 5 times I've been here and had a bad experience, today being the 5th time, they have been outstandingly bad. All 5 times have a common denominator and today was the last straw. I'm never going back. The common issue between all my bad experiences have been the male technicians that work here. Each time I've ended up with a man doing my mani pedi it has been rushed, half assed, had a weak short massage, and come out terribly. Today was particularly upsetting for me because this was the first time I've had even a moment to myself in 2 months since I have an infant at home. And this man's work was egregious. I tried to tell another technician that I'd prefer a female and she didn't understand me. So I figured since I had never seen this particular man before I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. Bad idea. I asked for an extra 10 min of massage on my pedicure. He said it would be 15 dollars. Fine. But he didn't do the massage and hot stone that are included in the pedicure normally and then tack on 10 mins. He just did 10 minutes and the hot stone inside of that 10 I was paying extra money for! That in itself was super frustrating. I paid 15 bucks for about 5 min extra. The really sucky part was how badly he was half assing the massage! It was weak and he was basically just running his hand over my calf and top of my foot a few times. He rushed the entire pedicure beyond that too. The manicure was where things got even worse. He cut two of my cuticles and they are currently bleeding. He cut my nails so short they are throbbing. And there are bubbles in my polish. If they cannot make sure that each and every employee is up to their standards then I can't keep going here. Which is sad because if I could just successfully avoid the men I am usually very happy with their work. But of the past 4 times I've gone 3 of them I ended up with the male technician and left upset. I think I'm done with Aria. I just wish I could recoup the 65 I just spent. Ugh. Read Less

This used to be my favorite nail salon. They charged a few extra dollars but it used to be worth it. For the pedicure, you would also get about a 5 minute calf and foot message. For the manicure, you would get an arm and hand massage, plus a stone massage and neck message while you got the paraffin wax treatment. I made an appointment for a 20 minute neck message and then two mani/pedi for me an my friend. I arrived 5 minutes early for my massage, they weren't ready for me until my mani/pedi appointment (25 minutes past my scheduled appointment.) that we were supposed to do together so I had to forgo the message. The foot message for the pedi was like a wet noodle. For the mani hand message he reused hot stones that were lukewarm that were used previously on my friend. The arm and hand massage was nearly non-existant. I had to tell him twice not to cut my nails, twice about the shape I wanted and finally, I just took the file and did my own nails. My cuticles are still in bad shape. The neck message was basically him putting his non-moving hands on my neck while he spoke in another language to someone. What should have been relaxing afternoon was stressful. This used to be amazing salon. If they don't learn to take care of their regular customers, then they are going lose a lot of business. I would have given 5 stars but I've found the quality of application can be hit or miss depending on the technician you get HOWEVER, there are so many great things about this spa!  First of all, included in the basic mani / pedi, you get lots of extra pampering that most salons charge extra for such as Paraffin wax treatment, hot stones with massage AND they massage your neck while your nails or toenails dry...!!!  That is a huge selling point for me. They recently started putting disposable plastic runners in the pedi tubs to keep them more sanitary which is a plus. I believe Paul was one of the techs I really liked. I had a $10 off a pedicure coupon so I called and scheduled an appointment for 4PM. A pedicure is $35 so I would have paid $25. Not bad. I walked in at 4PM for my appointment along with SIX other women all scheduled for the same appointment time as me. The front desk girl told me (with an attitude, no less) that they were running behind. I wonder why. Perhaps because you promised a handful of women appointments at 4PM the day before Thanksgiving? Not only that, but I was also hearing the employees saying "Thank you for waiting!" and "I'm sorry I'll be right back" to customers in the pedicure chairs and at manicure tables. They couldn't even handle their current customers, never mind the ones waiting.I waited for 15 minutes and then I realized that there are at least three other nail salons on Main Street, Wakefield. I called the first and they could see me immediately. I called the second one and they could see me in 10 minutes. Why wait at Aria when I had a supposed appointment?I ended up crossing the street and going to Golden Nails Design and I was seen immediately AND their pedicure price is only $23 without the coupon.Also, two other women from Aria saw me cross the street and they ended up following me. Sorry guys, love your service, but something happend to your nail polish. I used to always get 7day for extra money and enjoy for about a week having nice nails, but It happend twice already when i paid $5 extra for a 7-day long polish, it didn't even last a day. I wish i could submit a pictire with a revew. Unfortunately I do not have time to stop by and have it redone, but more and more it feels like I am being forced into "gel" or "shellac" or other more expensive techniques. Time for a change! Have been here a few times, and had great services, enough to pay the extra that aria costs. Today was very different, I booked 3 pedicures for my moms birthday ahead of time. When we got there they sat us down, started my mom then 20 minutes later started my sister and mine started 10 minutes after that. It is a Saturday, so I understand it was busy and I don't mind waiting for a good service. However, once my pedicure finally started I do not think I have ever felt that a t...echnician did not like their job as much as the gentleman I had. He did not introduce himself, was very abrupt and rude. He scrapped my feet so hard I have open cuts on them now. And rushed thru painting them that one barely has nail polish on them.
