The space is really lovely and glam, but I felt it was a very expensive, sub par manicure and pedicure. The nail tech was perfectly nice but I think perhaps she had vision issues... she kept missing snagged cuticles and I honestly think she couldn't see them, so she just kept trimming without  getting it. I told my nail technician that i’d Make sure to complain about the “one song on repeat”...it’s a nice song but on repeat the whole entire time is a bit nauseating. I do however appreciate the tropical add in of nature & birds. I was told the customers need to comment in order to make a positive change with the music. Time and again, Nails and Co. has failed me. I would go every few months or so for pamper day for nails and eyebrows, and SEVERAL TIMES they have 1. Made me bleed because of harsh techniques for nails 2. Ignored my requests for eyebrows shape and thickness 3. Ripped off my skin during the waxing procedure 4. Left me with a crappy polish job and 5. Pointed out my acne, which I am already hyperaware of. Would not recommend. I have been a long time customer of this place, and I will say- they do an amazing job. They have certainly upgraded their customer service at the front desk- in the past- I've felt like an inconvenience, but since the move, this is no longer the case. I'm not a big fan of the way to pick out colors, the color cards are placed on the window sill, and you have to either memorize the number or hold the card from other customers until you can give it to the technician. My biggest issue is the major increase in cost over the past few years. I'm sure their overhead has increased, but I just can't justify spending almost $100 for a regular pedi and gel mani every few weeks. My daughter and her boyfriend had appointments for full pedicures.  They were finished with him in 8 minutes, but charged for a full pedicure. I have been going to this Salon for about 3 or 4 years! I love my mani/pedi each time I go. Tommy or Teka are my go to technicians! The absolute best and they will never disappoint! If I weren't thoroughly enamored by the fantastic professional I see at Nails & Company in Salem, I wouldn't return. It must be said the new location is truly gorgeous. But the management doesn't appear to care about their client base.  Just this one small detail illustrates my point: no hooks for your clothes in the private service rooms used for facials, waxing and massage.  Nor are any provided in the pedicure areas.  Not a deal breaker, but must be noted as a slight inconvenience as well as being a tad inconsiderate of the client.  But the worst is their online booking system, which doesn't allow the client to book multiple services for one visit. In 2017 it's bizarre, as the technology to do this is easy and truly old. Weirder still is their old system did. My next issue may sound like nothing, but trust me, once you have to do it, you're gonna be pissed off: I'm speaking of their new idea for clients to choose their nail colors from chips, rather than from the real deal bottle. You honestly can't judge what the true color will look like on your nail. I was told they would be more than happy to bring the bottle out to me, but come on folks, you can tell right off what a hassle this is. After reviewing another place in Marblehead, I realized I did not leave a review for Nails and Co. Went a few weeks ago as a walk in to get a gel manicure. Everything was great. Dark, calming spa like atmosphere. Excellent manicure that lasted quite well--no chips or dings even after 2 weeks. I went to have a gel manicure done with a nail art type of French. Instead of telling me they couldn't do it (which is surprising on its own), they attempted it but used regular nail polish on top of gel and did a very poor job. It was so awful I had to go back in and request they fix it. They were very nice about fixing the issue but it took another hour of my time and the 2nd round of gel is now so thick it looks like I have giant bumps on top of my fingers. Plus they gave up on the French and just gave me a plain gel manicure. It was a really disappointing experience and I'm not usually a fussy person. I've been going to Nails and Co. for years and I have to say the service has really slid since the move. I went in to have a gel manicure removed. The attendant was so focused on chatting with her friends,  including getting up and walking away and leaving me sitting there for extended periods of time that I couldn't take it anymore. I felt like she was doing me a really big favor just letting me pay to have my nails done. Finally I said look let's just forget about the manicure, just remove the gel off my nails and I'll go. When I went to check out I was told that that counted as a full manicure and I would have to pay the full price. At that point I decided my relationship with Nails and Company was over. Unfortunate because they have some good people working there. Try something else. Especially when you consider the cost which is about double the going rate around here. Read Less

Overall, I like Nails and Co. alright The place is always clean and I have observed the staff going out of their way to be hygienic (can't say the same about some places!). I've been going there for a few years and have never had a problem with anything related to cleanliness - I've heard horror stories about other places. The staff is generally friendly (though sometimes I'd go in and I'd feel like my presence had interrupted something - like walking into a high school cafeteria and the cool clique glaring at you). The online appointment system is a fantastic idea and has never given me a problem (though I sometimes would call to double-check confirmation per the suggestion of one of the nicer receptionists). All around solid 3 stars. I gave Nails and Co. 4 stars because of *Tommy Tran* (on his own he is five stars!). He is an exceptional nail technician - technically, he does an excellent job, but he also knows what colors and trends are happening, what is more unique-but-stylish, and what will look good with various skin tones. He is also a really nice person who I enjoyed chatting with during my mani/pedi (though if you are the type who doesn't want to talk that is fine, too). And he gives really great massages. Seriously. That portion of the service was sometimes weak with other technicians (something I noticed going to multiple locations over the past 5 or so years), but not with Tommy. Sadly I moved out of the state, so I don't go there anymore, but I still recommend and make sure to book with Tommy Tran! Read Less

This was my first visit to Nails&Co and I thought my technician did an absolutely fabulous job. Hannah gave me a pedicure and a full set of gel dip nails. She took her time and was very precise about making sure the shape of my nails were perfect. Got a pedicure and manicure less then a week ago for my first visit there and I have to say I am not pleased at all. The gel on my nails didn't last me 3 full days, normally I can go a full week before it begins to lift. The technician definitely rushed which bothers me because for the price I paid I expect my manicure to last me at least 2 weeks. My cuticles are a mess because they were not properly trimmed. I did ask for the manicure last minute but I specifically said if you have no time do not worry I will come back next week. She insisted that she had the time to do it not to worry. I definitely will not return and waste my money again. If I wanted a poor job I could have went to one of the 100 nail salons in the area and spent a fraction of the price. Read Less

Went in on a Sunday to have some waxing done. The technician who did the waxing was very thorough and knowledgeable. The atmosphere here is very cold and money driven.  When I paid for my services I looked at my receipt and noticed that I was overcharged $17. Probably one of the nicer and more professional nail salons in the area. It's really nice that this is dark inside to create a calm and relaxing environment. They always give a good, long and quality massage.Giving it 3 stars because I'm disappointed in the quality of my gel manicure. I went to Brenda and she gave a good massage but just an average paint job. She didn't paint it thoroughly enough. There are pretty large gaps between wear the nail polish ends on my nails and where my nail meets my cuticles. This is frustrating as the gel will be on for 2 weeks so as my nails grow out this will look worse. She also didn't do the tips of the nails which most salons do. I decided to treat myself to a gel manicure on Monday, here. I am a big fan of gels and never have issues with them peeling. Since this gel manicure was $10 more than my regular salon, I expected nothing but the best. On Wednesday the polish on an entire nail had peeled off, so I went in to get it fixed. On Thursday, half of another nail peeled off. I am very upset that I spent $35 on what I expected to be a quality manicure. I don't know if it was the products used or the technician I had, but I've never had this issue before. I was very displeased with my service, and will be taking my hard-earned money elsewhere. As for the manicure, I was very displeased. I felt it was done very sloppy. The manicurist cut my nails, but failed to shape them. She did not buff them at all and the top coat she put on was laughable. I left unhappy, but didn't say anything knowing that I had no intention of going back.Once I arrived home, I saw that the salon had sent me a 20% coupon that was received while I was there. I decided to call and see if there was a way to be reimbursed for the coupon. The person who I spoke to told me that they could return it as a gift card. Then is when I stated how displeased I was with the manicure and that I didn't intend on returning.This is when my opinion of the salon changed dramatically. The person came on the phone and apologized for my bad experience and stated that not only would I get the coupon, but the whole service would be refunded. Went here on a whim since we both had tired aching feet. We were able to book an appointment within a reasonable amount of time, little wait time and very pleasant employees upon entering. Literally one of the best pedicures we've ever had. We sat behind closed curtains and they did wonders for around a half hour or so. Going back soon! This is my go-to salon for a pedicure. So, here's what I love: 1. The individual bays. It's quiet and spa like. You can close your eyes and relax. For insurance that it will be quiet, I always book an appointment on a Sunday morning. The bays have windows, between the people on either side of you, but this is not really the kind of place where you want to go if you are there to "catch up" with your sister or good gal-pal. Some ladies do not understand that and they get in there and don't use their "spa" voice, or even "inside" voice for that matter- and they yack away like they are in a restaurant or bar. You'd think that they'd catch on that it's a quiet atmosphere because the tech dims the lights, except for one spot light on your feet. I find Saturday's to be noisy- and Sunday's to be very quiet. I work so I have no idea what goes on there during the week. 2. The foot massage is amazing. I LOVE that they spend a good 10 to 15 minutes on the massage and they know what they are doing.  The techs that I see understand reflexology and their massages are not typical of what you'd find in a corner nail salon. $35 is well worth it to me because that relaxed feeling in my lower legs, ankle bones and feet stay with me for a good 24 hours. This is my favorite part of the visit. 3. They're very clean. 4. They make you feel very comfortable. Water upon arrival. The tech's always ask me if I'd like a magazine etc. 5. On-line booking. What's better than that? I have had zero issues with the techs running behind. My appointments are always on time. Here's what I don't love: My only issue is that they don't carry enough of the popular colors.They probably have 100 bottles but it's a very big salon and they're probably servicing 20 clients at a time.  My guess is that the colors I want are in use at the time I have my appointment. If you are very particular, it's not a bad idea to bring your own polish. Read Less

I went into Nails and Co on a Sat morning prior to going to a wedding that evening. The nail technician that did my nails did a horrible job on a french manicure and pedicure! My fingernails were streaky, with blotches of areas lighter than others; my toes looked like I tried to do a french manicure at home for the first time! By Sunday evening, most of my nails had chipped and the manicure was a waste. I had my nails re-painted somewhere else 4 days later. It was $63 (excluding tip) down the drain. After calling and speaking with the salon manager, she said she would have someone do a polish change on my fingernails (not a manicure), but that was all she would do!
