Unsanitary. They used the same towels over and over again when they ran out of them. Nobody would've have know had I not accidentally ran into one of their staff trying to conceal the bucket of used towels and trying to dry them out without being washed. Disgusting! Read Less

Shannon and Kathy are awesome!! I had trouble finding the place but called and they led me to the salon with perfect directions (it's in the lobby of the assembly sports club.) I was even running late and they still were able to get us in and we did not feel rushed at all. They were able to accommodate my friend and I for a gel mani/ regular pedi the day of with no problem. Shannon is a connector, a lover of people, a go-getter, and a do-gooder.  Not only will you leave with perfect nails, but you will have a wonderful human connection, and feel like you made a sincere new friend.  So many times I go into a nail salon, nails a mess (hello!  that's why I'm there!) and the person makes me feel ashamed of them telling me I need to take better care of my nails.  Shannon, instead, sympathized with the stress of a busy life and told me she'd take care of me.  It was a great experience all around.  Also, if all that is not enough, consider supporting this nail boutique because she shuts down her shop every Thursday (and foregoes all her profits for an entire business day) to do the nails for the Ronald McDonald house patients and families.  When you go here you get a fair-priced, amazing manicure, a new sweet friend, AND an opportunity to support a charity!  An easy sell if you ask me. I have very mixed feelings about this Boutique. It's very small and intimate which I did not mind. They have 3 nail chairs and 2 pedicure chairs. The nail technicians were very sweet and welcoming but I was not very happy with my gel manicure. My lady seemed very rushed and when I got home I could see her work was very spotty. Overall, I had a really good experience at Polished. Initially I was a little concerned because I had some difficulty getting an appointment- it might have been because I bought a Gilt City voucher and it was nearing expiration, so others may have been in the same boat.Either way, I thought that the manicurist did a very nice job. She did take longer than I normally would have expected- 1 hour for a shellac, but she did a great job. It's a small boutique with just 3 manicurists, but they were very friendly and kind. I have no idea where these great reviews came from. The tech herself was pleasant. Went in with a Gilt and I could tell she was new so the technique wasn't perfect but her personality made up for it. However, they do not tell you the removal of the present shellac is $10! I've never been charged this much before and it is courtesy for the business to let their customers know!! Also, when I was ready to pay the extra cost, rather then conveniently taking my card the owner told me to find the ATM and pay them in cash. Are you kidding me?! Not only am I paying double the price in removing my nail polish, having my nails painted subpar, you want me to go out of my way to get cash out?! Ridiculous. Will never be going back again. I purchased the 3 visit Gilt voucher for this salon after seeing how high their rating was and I was NOT disappointed! I made an appointment with Shannon the owner and she was as amazing as everyone has previously stated. The salon smelled of warm pumpkin spice as soon as I entered which was a PLUS! The space is small but very comfortable and relaxing. My nails came out AMAZING, I hate when shellac does not go down to my cuticles but Shannon made sure it covered my entire nail. Bought a Gilt City voucher, was going to go in with my mom.  She didn't feel well the next day, I called to let them know 1 hour prior to apptmt time. (last min, yes)  The lady at the front desk was REALLY rude and unaccomodating, showing no sign of sympathy that she wasn't feeling well, just condescendingly said it's not good for their business and that her portion would be forfeited.  It's one thing to state the rules, but a whole other thing to be so uncaring and unprofessional, only looking out for the interest of the business.  I wouldn't have been so offended or angry if she was a tad nicer and concerned about their customers' wellbeing.  Therefore, we will NOT be coming to this salon afterall.  Customer servie/human connection is more than superficial beauty. I had a great experience here.  Assistant Kathy helped me select a color and owner Shannon did my basic mani-pedi quickly, efficiently, gently and BEAUTIFULLY.  Both women kept me entertained the entire time, chatting effortlessly about all kinds of subjects.The salon itself is cozy, clean and comfortable, with good lighting and a great feeling of space (high ceilings, I guess) for such a small area.If you're looking for a really fancy, luxurious kind of spa -- this isn't the place.  The feel here is very down-to-earth.  I really felt as if I were getting my nails done by a friend who just happened to be a great nail artist.It's not often you find an establishment that manages to offer such friendliness and such professionalism at the same time.  Polished Nail Boutique is a class act.  I'll definitely be back. came for a quick, basic birthday pedicure yesterday and Shannon was awesome. lots of "very's" about to hit you: she was very kind, very wise, very funny, and very attentive. it's clear Shannon loves what she does, is proud of her business, and works hard to treat her clients well - and I love nothing more than supporting women who strike out on their own in business and do it right! the space is bright, cute, and very clean (disposable tub liners!). I was obviously in very capable hands.  bonus balls: after a fantastic - and very reasonable - pedicure, I felt like i'd just had a cosy chat session with an old friend. i'd recommend Shannon and her boutique to anybody looking for attentive service and a very friendly atmosphere. i'll be back. This nail place is in the Assembly Row Sport's Club, not Planet Fitness.  The building is under construction and the entrance appears to be closed off.  It's not.  The Salon itself is tiny, but the techs are friendly and I love my nails.  Definitely a fast, no frills type of place!  Bought a three shellac package from groupon. Apparently you NEED an appointment. Came here on a Thursday morning but nobody is home! Hours of operation are at the owners whim. Annoying that drop ins are not welcome. I guess it's my fault.The owner (I believe this is a small operation) called and apologized for not being available and explained that she volunteers on some Thursday's, which I thought was nice. This is an intimate nail boutique, and I much prefer this atmosphere over other crowded and busy nail salons. Shannon and Cathy are wonderful - it's like hanging out with your sisters when you go there. Shannon does an awesome job, I've been seeing her consistently every 2 weeks for almost a year.  She did my nails for my wedding too. Prices are super reasonable! :) *Its definitely a little tricky to find the location the first time, so leave extra time. Read Less

Shannon was amazing. Her salon is small, very clean, and nicely decorated. Shannon is professional and friendly and made me feel right at home. But, the kicker is that my fingernails were done so well that the polish lasted through a move. Yes, I was moving my apartment the next day and somehow I walked away with nice looking fingernails. The toenails lasted for weeks. I can't recommend her enough. The place is a little tough to find, so ask her for good directions before you set off. Google maps doesn't cut it.
