it was my 1st time trying the salon. it's location is towards the back of Assembly Row. they offer regular manicure, gel and SNS. I selected the SNS for the 1st time and my nail technician was great. she explained what it was and what she was doing. SNS is a nail polish powder and doesnt use UV light and dries quick.They offer different nail colors which was awesome. my only comment is that removal of cuticle wasn't included in the SNS. it was a separate package. they take appointments which was a plus. overall highly recommend the place. but be sure to specify what service you want especially when making an appointment. I’m not joking, this was the best gel manicure of my life. My friend has been recommending this place for a while because she swears her manicure lasts longer than other places! I’m so glad I took her recommendation. Nancy was so careful and did an amazing job. The space is clean and modern. I felt super comfortable being there. A bonus was that it didn’t have a strong smell of acrylic chemicals (or whatever it’s from) like most nail salons do. They had a smaller selection of gel polishes, but whoever picked them out knew exactly what’s on trend. All of the polishes are really pretty. I can’t wait to try more! Now I can make a "living" at the spa I'm at and also my business owner he is not taking 50% and provides all supplies and products!Nothing Bliss about this shop. Everyone was miserable in that workplace. Overworked like a Slave by the owner. Poor management and lack of customer service. She also docked her workers pay and deducts money from their payroll when service is refunded back to the customers. Do NOT waste your time or money going there. I had a manicure on Friday afternoon and by Sat morning, it was ruined. 2 of my nails broke and the rest chipped. They did not have any of the colors that I wanted. I  am attending  a wedding today down the cape and now I have to go find a place to have my nails redone. Not acceptable for $20. They need to pay more attention to what they are doing and do a much better job. Very dissapointed with the service. I got my eyebrows done here for the first time and I loved it! I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror now. My mother got her eyelashes done with Roberta and they are absolutely gorgeous!! I came here with my best friend to get 2 gel manicures and 2 pedicures. We booked the appointment 2 hours beforehand and had the pedicures in a private room which was amazing. They took their time doing our pedicures and did an awesome job on our nails. 1 week later and nails are still in brand new condition. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a new place!!!!!! I started going to Bliss Nails Assembly Row a week after they opened and I have never been disappointed.  I moved to Cambridge in 2015 and had the hardest time finding a place to do gel artificial nails.  Bliss did them exactly as I wanted without having to explain the process to the technician.  What a relief it was to find them.  Avon always does a great job and is a perfectionist.  I go in with broken and chewed off nail and leave with beautiful hands.  She always works her magic.  Thank you. I had a great pedicure at Bliss this past Friday.   You definitely need an appointment-I walked in and got a time later that afternoon so I had lunch and returned.   The receptionist at the front desk definitely needs to work on her people skills.   Stop texting and pay attention when a customer is waiting to check out and pay.   Pay more attention to your customers.     The tech was great but it's expensive:  $38.00 for a regular pedicure?  There is a great deal of competition with nail salons in the Medford/Malden/Melrose area-offer some incentive to gain new clients and have repeat customers.   Would I return?   Yes but not on a regular basis due to cost. Very disappointed with the service of childrens file and paint. My neices got their nails done, took 45 minutes for each of them (they are 6 and 8!). That eve the paint started to peel off. BBB offered to do them again but they don't want to go back. BBB replied, "No problem". I had also booked the two of them in for 3.15pm but they were not done at the same time. So 1 had to wait 45 minutes and then another 45 mins to have her nails done! Way too long for young children. Had a great experience here! Semi private room for pedicures, I fell asleep during the massage part because it was that relaxing!! Definitely book an appointment, I saw them turn away two walk ins because they were so booked. Gel nail polish came out great, the receptionist picked out the perfect color when I asked for a nude with a hint of pink. I was a bit skeptical on the SNS nails at first but I decided to just go for it and I'm glad I did. Way better than acrylic! I wish I could credit the very nice woman who did my nails but I can't remember her name :/ loved the way they came out. Bring cash for a tip! After searching far and wide for a new nail salon, I found Bliss Nails in Assembly Row (Somerville, MA).  The quality of the polishes they use, particularly for gel or Shellac nails is superior to many other salons I have been to.  They have a great selection of colors for regular, gel, or Shellac polish.The price is $35 for a gel manicure, and it's very worth it.  I routinely get gel manicures and they usually last about 2 weeks give or take, before they start peeling down at the top when the nail grows out, or chip.  At Bliss Nails, my gel manicures routinely last up to THREE weeks, and I even had my nails done before Christmas this year and the gel manicure lasted AN ENTIRE MONTH without peeling or chipping!  I was flabbergasted at how long my nails got and how nothing had chipped, through all the holiday prep for both Christmas and New Years!  The nail tech that did my nails that time, Fei (Faith), no longer works at the salon unfortunately, but I've found most other nail techs are consistent and reliable.The only downsides are that I find walk ins are tough because the services can be slow (they take their time, which I don't mind), and that parking is limited.  I used to walk from the free garage that is next to the AMC Theater, but now they have started charging for parking.  I'm not keen on paying extra to park on top of the manicure cost plus tip, but I'll probably bite the bullet and do it anyway to keep coming here.  I also am not sure if they use LED curing or UV curing for the gel - if it's UV I wish they would provide some sunblock. I've been to both the Station Landing and the Assembly Row locations and while both are lovely, I think I like the Assembly Row location much better. It's less cramped which is honestly the only major difference for me. Service and everything else are equal in my book. It's a bit on the costly side, but the environment is so peaceful and the work is so great that it's worth it. I've had a gel manicure on my hands now for going on my 4th week and it hasn't chipped yet. I love the rooms for the pedicures too. They're very relaxing and I love the beaded curtains that kind of pull you away from the rest of the room. the lighting is relaxing, and in the massage chairs, it's perfect to wind down. i've also started getting threading done instead of waxing. I called to get an eyebrow wax one day but they only had someone who did threading so, despite my fears, I gave it a try and now I'm hooked! Read Less

This nail salon is so great I almost don't want to tell anyone about it because I cherish always getting an appointment on short notice. But I feel that they really deserve the credit and it is the best nail salon I've been to in the Boston area. I've had a few gel manis + pedis and I've never had an appointment with the same person, but have always received the highest level of service and quality work. The salon is clean and very well decorated and maintained. The pedicures are done in small semi private rooms wth soft lighting and calming music. The massage from the pedicure chairs is to die for. It's difficult to stay awake during the pedicure because I am so relaxed. Their spa pedicure in particular is totally worth it if you have the time. It includes a second massage and a paraffin wax treatment that does amazing things for my dry feet.My gel manicures always last for 3 weeks if not longer. There is also a great color selection in standard, gel, and shellac color. I have never felt rushed in the salon and its always a fantastic experience. Their price point is reasonable but on the pricier side. A mani/gel pedi runs me about $75. But I feel that the extra cost is totally worth it and I can't wait to go back in 3 weeks! Read Less

I have been going to Bliss Nails in Assemble Row ever since they opened. My regular nail technician, Lanie does a wonderful job each time. However, while she was away for several weeks on vacation I used another nail technician, Avon.One finger nail (gel manicure) and one toe (regular pedi) chipped after one week. This happened the week of Thanksgiving so I did not have time to come back in to get it repaired. When I returned this weekend I mentioned this to the Salon Manager, Avon  and even shared a photo.Instead of crediting me for the manicure and pedicure the Manager proceeded to tell me that I probably did something to make my nails chip. To add insult to injury she offered me a $5.00 discount. My nails never chipped when Lanie did them. I love Bliss Nails!  This location is less cramped than the Medford spot and has free parking. I've had a gel manicure and an aromatherapy pedicure and both were great. The pedicure was very relaxing and the manicure came out beautifully. I do wish they had a better color selection; many of theirs were old and the selection wall was disorganized. This nail salon is at one of the hidden corners of Assembly row. Parking was a pain but finally got to my nail appointment. My experience was not terrible because the everyone was somewhat nice but not friendly. I forgot who did my nails but I had a gel manicure done and I wasn't please with the color selection (or lack there of) or anything else about my finished nails. I kept asking my tech to shape it the way I wanted but it requested so many times that I felt bad and she wasn't happy that I kept telling her how I wanted my nails. I came home with thick gel nails so they feel like my natural nails anymore. The color selection there like I said was poor at best. The only reason I'm giving them two stars is because the salon was clean, maintained well, and they were somewhat nice. Hands down the best place I've found out here! I've lived in Boston for a little over three years and have been to multiple nail salons. I usually go for convenience, either close to home or work, but I've never been fully satisfied.Bliss Nails at Assembly Row is fantastic. I walked in and requested a mani/pedi and was taken within 10 minutes. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Not like other nail salons where there are TVs, and lots of talking.My pedicure was first. They took me to an almost private room that seats two customers and is closed off by a beaded curtain. Amanda was my pedicurist and she was absolutely A-MAZING. She was aggressive, but in a good way. I'm on my feet more than ten hours a day for work. By the time she was done they were baby soft and beautiful. The massage was the most delightful thing. I love that they turn off the light while massaging your feet. Straight after she finished, I texted my friend to let her know she's coming with me next time. Kyle was my manicurist and he was super friendly. I had requested a full set and he suggested just an overlay since I wanted my nails on the shorter side. I love the way my nails turned out! My whole experience was wonderful from the minute I stepped into Bliss Nails. The best pedicure I've ever had was at this location of Bliss Nails. This afternoon I was treated to a pedicure of excellent quality in an environment of such calm and relaxation.How did they do it?!Here's how:1. No tvs blaring gossip or news or other b.s.2. Low lighting in semi private spaces (partitioned by tasteful beaded curtains).3. No crappy gossip rags in the waiting area4. Soothing music playing in the background (recognized popular piano pieces by Chopin and Satie)5. Professional staff! The young woman who gave me the fantastic pedicure did not try to engage me in conversation. She saw me relaxing, chilling out, and just went to work on my feet. I've never had such a good massage where all my toe joints popped. Awesome!6. The pedicurists spoke to each other in low tones and only briefly. It was really what kept the place tranquil and so relaxing. 7. Epic spa chairs that massage all the stress away. The sink where your feet rest is bordered by a tree branch design.
