I went to this Salon with a friend of mine and ended up getting a haircut as well. I absolutely loved the stylist. He saw that I was a bit hesitant about getting a new style and soothed my nerves with his detailed description of what he planned to do. One of the worst experiences ever. Waxed areas are burned, nail polish was very poor quality and applied inexpertly (too thickly) so it smudged. Pedicure with no polish charged at full fee. This small salon has so much to offer! Dougie always has fantastic ideas on how you should look next, but he is a very attentive listener. Every week he drives himself to Boston, and he workshops with all different professionals. He uses the whole range of technics, from very ancient through the newest. Scottie gives you a divine massage! But you feel at ease as soon as you see him, so sweet, handsome, talking with high professional expertise, but very simple and on your level. You will get spray-tan here, manicured, waxed, scrubbed... You can get your whole body painted into anything you or your artist could imagine, or just get a small sketch on any part of your body. Fuckkkkk this place they have no clue what they are doing in terms of nails however they claim they went to cosmetology school.. My gel manicure was the equivalent of my 80 year old grandmother giving attempting to give me a manicure. 3 nails chipped the day after even tho they said it would stay 3 weeks. Also they don't have prices listed so when we went to pay we were all slapped in the face w jacked up pricing paying over 45 for a shit job. Had the worse gel manicure ever and it was the most expensive I've ever paid. It's been one week and the polish is wearing off as if it was regular nail polish. As you see, the pinky wore off and ring finger top is darker at the top. Regular pedicure was better. Don't spend the extra for gel that, supposedly, lasts for three weeks. Read Less

Great experience with a pedicure by Scottie. All the staff are casual, relaxed, and calm.Toes were pampered and unlikely most times I get a pedi, Scottie listened to me and cut them as short as I prefer. He took extra care to make sure all the edges were trimmed. The West End Salon and Spa on Commercial Street is a landmark  onto itself.  Know for henna tattoos and blowing bubbles on the street, it's quite festive.In my opinion, they are long over due for a makeover!The inside of the salon is dated and they are expensive.  $25.00 for a soso men's manicure is crazy!  New York City only charges $13.00 and I get clear polish.This is not the only salon in town.  Check out the many other locations. With an outrageously eccentric and skilled staff, the West End Salon & Spa will give you an experience you will never forget.I stopped in for a mani/pedi and Scottie and Steph were absolutely fabulous.Stacey gave me the best short cut I've ever gotten in my twenty-two years, and Dougie is a masterful artist when it comes to color.
