Friendly staff in a large and clean establishment. They offer a variety of services and many many different nail polish and gel colors. Its ok, came here in a pinch to get my nails done before I went away for the holidays. Got seated right away. Just needed a gel manicure. The girl doing it was great at the manicure, but didn't really talk all that much. Which is kind of awkward because I'm a chatter box. Horrible customer service. This used to be my go to place to get my nails done, than the staff changed and i noticed how rude their new staff was. I thought maybe It was one day and decided to go back and give them the benefit of the doubt. On their website and door says they close at 7pm on saturdays, I walked in and there was only one other customer in there still deciding which color to pick, the workers were speaking a foreign language but it was clear to see they were annoyed by her because they had to wait for her to choose a color. Instead of waiting they called me over, I sat down and she asked "why u come so late?" Mind you it was only 5:30pm so I replied "so late? Don't you guys close at 7?" To which she just ignored me and started talking again in a foreign language. After rushing on my nails i went to sit down to dry them, it was only 6:00pm and they were clearly annoyed, the co workers there put on their jackets and shut off some of the lights and gathered around myself and the other customer who was also drying her nails. After 10 min one of the girls walked over and asked to see our nails to check if they were dry, they clearly weren't, but myself and the other customer got up and left because we both couldn't deal with it anymore. Sure enough before I could even get in my car they were already outside and locking up. Honestly, if you don't want to stay there till closing time than perhaps you should change your hours so this doesn't happen to other customers! I will never go back and suggest you also stay away. Accommodating, clean and welcoming star nails is convenient and well priced. I have shown up on a weekend and gotten in with four other people without an appointment. Greeted with a smile and offered refreshment while we waited which less then five minutes.  It was busy but I still felt catered to. The staff took care of my daughters making them feel special. This made me relaxed which is the whole point. I had an appointment at Lexi's salon up the street and unfortunately when I arrived I was not accommodated. Stopped in with a friend to get a pedi before I left Mass. While they were nice and fast, it wasn't the best pedicure I've gotten. I was wearing sandals which should reduce smearing, but whatever polish technique they utilize isn't good because an hour later (even after being extra careful and sitting under the dryer for a long while) both big toes were smeared. I thought maybe I'd messed something up until I went to a different place last week for a pedi and have managed to keep this on without a single smear or chip and I only sat under for 15-20 mins max. I went for shellac. How they get the old shellac off is they use the abrasive emery board to scrape down to your nail bed...Youch! That kills and I'm sure it damaged my nail beds. 2nd, you would not believe how uneven the nail tips are, looks like someone who can't see did them. 3rd; pedicure, polish all over the cuticle and one of my toes is throbbing and getting swollen as the day wears on.I'm hoping just a ding and not an infection. Worst manicure I have ever gotten. Went in wanting a full set for prom and they took me right away. However I could already tell that it wasn't going to be a good experience. The woman kept criticizing me for having short nails and was scolding me continuously. Not to mention that this was the most painful manicure ever! She was rough and kept cutting me even when I told her she was hurting me she just laughed..all of my nails ending up crooked and different lengths, and she didn't even bother to put a top coat on so here I am 4 hours later and they're already chipped...never going back. Terrible!!  Unfortunately, my husband purchased a gift certificate for me to go here. He wasn't sure where I usually go for my pedicures.  It was a complete disaster. They are your usual run of the mill, pack 'em in nail salon. They tell you it will be 15 minutes but you end up waiting 30. I actually go to Nails and Spa in Braintree. I drive thirty minutes away because it's worth it. Jen is the owner and she's amazing. I wouldn't go anywhere else. It was good and clean. I did like it I've just been spoiled with spas. They do a hot towel wrap with the pedicures and have massaging chairs which are so relaxing.  Did not remove any dry soon from my feet which was disappointing.  The manicurist did not even attempt to talk or answer as you talked,  but the owner was over her shoulder the whole time which I belive made her nervous. I give his place three stars because I think that's what they honestly deserve. They do an okay job. When you're done, your nails definitely look good, but they won't last you until the next day. They do a very quick job so if you're in a hurry They're good for that. But if you want quality they wouldn't be my first choice. They're fairly inexpensive as well, but again, you get what you pay for. Staff of relatively friendly, if they talk to you. Overall, it's just your average nail place. Good enough for a same day event kind of thing, but don't get your nails done here for your vacation next week. Read Less

This place was awful I've been here 4 times now and every time i expect better and every time I'm disappointed. They're rude and mean and not willing to do what you ask. Star Nails has recently moved a few spaces down so the place is a bit cleaner and updated which is good. However, I did have a very rough acrylic application once. It felt like the technician took a belt sander to my fingers. After that experience I have only been back if I can't get in to my usual salon. It's ok, I will never get acrylics again but I wish they would spend more time and use hot stones with pedicure services. It's not my first choice but it is convenient. Read Less

Today was my first time at Star Nails and I am very happy I found this place! It's a brand new space and all new chairs. The staff is so nice. Tracy gave me a pedicure and waxed my eyebrows. She did an amazing job and I will definitely ask for her next time. I have super sensitive cuticles so pedis can be painful for me, but not this time. Tracy is very gentle and does a great pedi! I was so upset the last time I went here I had to leave.The most painful manicure I have ever had, I was almost in tears. The worst place for a manicure! The woman I had cut my cuticles so poorly that a week later I have peeling swollen and red around my nails. She also cut the corners of each finger right at the top of my nails?! I have never had this done and my finger tips appear to be a few layers of skin from bloody!!! I like it here because I can walk in anytime and never have to wait.  If I have to wait, it's no more than 5 minutes.   I'm not a person who likes to live by a "schedule" or an "appointment time".     FYI........they only take tips in cash but you can pay for your mani/pedi by credit card. This *was* my "regular" nail place. We (my pal and best pedi buddy Wend) would go here every month or so for pedicures, sometimes manicures, too. They were always able to take us right away, they did a great job, and were super quick, which is awesome. But the last few times we've come here, we've left with prettier toes, but a little disappointed. Here's the deal;The ladies that work here have become incredibly, uncomfortably pushy. I totally get that they need to hawk a mani on you while you're getting your pedi, but no means no, ladies! It's fine when they ask once, but after the fifth time of being asked, I get the teensiest bit annoyed. Back off, sister. I like my chewed up, sad nails, a-thank you.The quality seems to have slacked off, too. I seriously almost got burned by the scalding tub of water *It was HOT! I may be exaggerating about a degree burn, but an "OW!" actually slipped out of me!*. Then, my poor friend felt like she was being assaulted when half a dozen women, yelling *which is best described as colorfully* in perhaps Korean and flailing towards her quickly, unbeknownst to Wendy that her tub was starting to overflow. She was pretty much scared s**tless. And to top off this calming, relaxing experience, the pedi itself was just not up to their past standards. We were bummed. (Though, I am in love with "Who are you wearing" from OPI. Great color!!)Although they do a way better pedi here than I would ever be able to do on myself, I guess I'll have to start searching for my new "regular" perfect nail place.
