When Luxy first opened it was my favorite nail salon , they were always nice and greeted you with a smile. Things have clearly changed in their quality and they rudely stare at customers. I've never been in so much pain getting a fill. First of all toe nail clippers were used to trim my acrylic nails, then when she was using the drill to shape my nails it was extremely painful. She also nicked the skin around my nails. I left there with my nails being bumpy and very unsatisfied. I got a gel fill last night and this morning I realize that my nails are already chipped. Not only have is this place more than others... $35 for a gel fill but they don't do a good job. I will return today for them to fix my nails but then after that I will not be returning. Pass on this one.  Terrible experience with Linda, the manager. Linda, didn't like nail color my adult daughter picked for herself & told her 3x to pick another color. She then smudged adult daughter's nail and had to do it over but blamed and scolded my daughter to "not move".  When I casually walked over after witnessing this, Linda tried to tell me to go sit down.  Another customer looked at us in disbelief.  The nerve.  Then Linda asked my daughter if she could shape her eyebrows.  My daughter said no thank you and Linda proceeded to critique her eyebrows.  Terrible.  Unfortunate because a few of the employees are nice but never going back.  Just horrible. The salon was nice and clean. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Those are the only reasons I gave it 3 stars. My technician wasn't that friendly. I got a powder dip manicure. My 11 year old daughter even said it looked rushed. One finger isn't smooth it has a bump in it. The edges are sloppy. They listened to what I wanted done. Kept asking if this is what I wanted on the French nails I had done. Pedicures have been good here for the most part-somewhat inconsistent depending on who you get. Too bad because I really like the chairs and pillows. But, DON't get any wax here! The woman who does the waxing is very pushy and actually waxed areas I said "no thank you" to. I was clear and there was no misunderstanding and she did it anyway. I feel discriminated against. I called to make an appointment for myself, a friend and my daughters. The person who answered asked me to come a bit later for an appointment and I agreed. When we showed up, the salon had three employees and three clients (not busy at all). We were barely greeted and when we were it was as if we had not made an appointment at all.  Almost ignored and when we were spoke to, we were told the appointments for the two adults were fine but not for the girls. They argued in another language for several minutes until we just decided to leave.The good news is I have amazing daughters and an even better friend. And we drove up to the stop and shop plaza to Star Nails ***** (5stars). They greeted us, took all of us with a smile and did a great and quick job. It was my first time here and I can say this was the best pedicure I have ever gotten. Rose did my pedi and did an amazing job! She took the time and did not rush like some places do. Been here twice. First was a pedicure , second a gel manicure. Came on a Sunday around 12:30 for the pedi. It was good, 4 out of 5 stars. Comfortable chair, liked the heated booties, mint bath salts were a nice touch. The polish job itself wasn't the best I've had but good enough id come back for another to really judge it better and probably with a different person. Gel mani was a Friday afternoon and this place was hoppin'. People were getting pissed that they had appointments and still ended up waiting 20 minutes. The mani was done by Peter and it was ok, not the best and I wouldn't want him to do my nails again. The way they were done, shape and what not, isn't the best so I'll make sure to always ask for someone else. Not gonna lie, it was a little awkward too with 20 women in there then a random guy working. We'll see how long the manicure lasts. This is overall a decent enough place but they need to do something about the scheduling. It just doesn't work. I had to wait 15 min for someone I didn't even book with or want to do my nails but I didn't wanna wait another hour for one of the girls to do it. It does seem like a lot of the polishes need replacing, though. They're very thick and goopy and that contributes to chipping sooner. Good selection of colors but again, they need to start replacing old ones. I plan to go back for one more pedi and mani to see if I'd become a regular here. As of now I'm on the fence about Luxy.... Coming here had to be one of the strangest waxing experiences I've ever had. I called earlier in the day to schedule an appointment. The person answering my call said they were very busy so I scheduled my appointment for later that afternoon. Once I got there, everyone stared at me like I was going to steal something. Nope, just a quick wax and I'll be on my way. Except it wasn't quick. She was apparently trying to do pedicures (their bread and butter) so once she took me back, I literally sat on the table for 25 mins waiting. She came in, waxed part, then left for a while, came back and finished my wax, left again. Somewhere in between there, she talked me into a free eyebrow wax because of the wait and only charged me half of what it would've cost. I left an hour later... Usually a wax takes 20ish mins tops. She was very nice if not a little pushy. I got an eyebrow wax I wasn't looking for and a Brazilian I was. What can I really say here? I went here for the first time to get my nails filled. For me there wasn't any wait, a woman nicely greeted me and offered me water and quickly got to finishing my nails. She did a great almond shape to my nails liked asked. I did have a hard time finding a shade I thoroughly liked here. I actually switched it 3 times! She ended up painting them almost see through when I asked for a nice pink color. That made me upset. It was $20, and one of the nails actually chipped and i don't even know when or how it did. I don't think I'll go back just because the lack of neutral or quality of their polishes. But they are very friendly there and I guess if you're looking for a plain manicure or pedi, this location isn't a bad choice. Read Less

My first visit to the salon. Very tastefully decorated. Loved how clean the place is. Instruments such as buffers and files are only used once, and either discarded, or given to the customer once service completed. Non-disposable instruments are cleaned then sterilized with dry heat. Stainless steel foot spas are easy to clean and filters are changed and sterilized after each customer. Very friendly and thoughtful service. And my pedi looks great! Read Less

I L.O.V.E. this salon!  I drive up from Plymouth to get my nails done here.  The pedicures are pretty dreamy, with super-plush built-in chairs, plenty of space for your bag/magazine/drink/whatever, hot stone massages, and LAP PILLOWS!  Why do lap pillows excite me so?  Not sure, but they do. I really so love the pedicures here, but really I trek all the way up here for the gel manicures.  I like the gel mani because it lasts a while but it's still my real nails.  I can wait three weeks easily between polish changes when it get my gel mani at Luxy, and when I want to do something fun and different the girls are good at helping me brainstorm ideas.  I think the prices are on par with most strip-mall type nail salons, and the quality is much better.  Now excuse me while I get back to enjoying my hot stone massage...
