Now this....was interesting. Upon my first visit, Jimmy was EXCELLENT. Literally, my most natural, perfect full set of acrylics in 15yrs (lots of friends agreed)! So, I went back again. This time, I had the owner (not sure of her name) but I got an immediate bad vibe (gotta be honest). Mind you, I'm not too picky or one of those folks that critique nor freak about a simple service like this. She went on to hastily apply my set and when finished, I raised an eyebrow at it's very UNfinished appearance. Hating confrontation and having just heard the woman next to me complain herself, I just paid and left. Not a single nail length was a match to ANY other (trust me, I compared just for kicks), most were severely diagonal in file shape and a few were crooked....revealing some of my real nail beneath! I'm into this beauty stuff, so I didn't even mind refiling at home despite it taking off some color. My angry boyfriend thought I should go back and demand a redo, since he'd payed for a sloppy job. Hours later, one snapped off with no tension at all, it seemed. The shop had closed, so I returned in two days and they fixed it for free (which was nice). A few days after THAT...another broke (while opening an empty trash bag???) Two days later...another one bit the dust just as easily! I do not work hard labor, so this seemed quite odd. NEVER have I encountered this problem since I began getting acrylics! Also during that timespan, all but two nails had split at the sides (almost to the middle) catching my hair with each touch and ripping them more. SO....after my boyfriend's week long advice to return for fixing despite my embarrasment to be a pain, I finally gave them a call. I ~politely~ explained the deal and simply asked if they could reinforce the ones that had split, etc (then maybe custom price it based on the inconvenience). THE FEMALE OWNER INTERUPTED ME WITH CONFUSING RAMBLING ABOUT HOW SHE "REMEMBERED ME" AS THE ONE WHO BITES MY NAILS"....THEREFORE SHE "KNEW" I HAD PICKED AT THEM/"BROKE THEM MYSELF".... AND WHATEVER WAS SAID AFTER THAT WAS INAUDIBLE SINCE IT WAS A CONTINUOUS RANT! I BEGAN ONLY TRYING TO EXPLAIN THROUGH THE SHOCK OF HER REMARKS and WHAT I was trying to explain was that I only needed an appointment to get them fixed! I was NOT being rude or even complaining...just EXPLAINING. She must be used to this type of gripe, because she SURE knew what to say to ME and would not let me speak - since CLEARLY, I was being shady ;-} THIS is when I lost it and ahem, gave her a piece of mind, to say the least. There was no need to be so defensive onher part when I was not being OFFensive! If I was even given a GC for another visit (which'd never happen-I know), I'd decline. It takes alot for me to snap - but it TOOK NOTHING FOR MY MANICURE DO SO....OR FOR A GROWN WOMAN TO QUICKLY PLACE FULL BLAME ON A CLIENT/STRANGER IN SUCH A CHILDLIKE MANNER. These "manners" or lackthereof...lead me to completely lose mine, I fully admit!
