Had appointment last week at 4.15, Got phone call an hr before saying girl never turned in and to come next day, was no good as we had wedding, then said maybe 7 that night which was also no good for me as so much to do etc hence the reason for making appointment time.. My appointment was for 7 O'clock to get my nails done yesterday evening. One of the girls that work there said to me ' is it not 7.30' and I said no I made my appointment for 7 O'clock, so she asked if I could wait 15mins, because one of the girls was delayed. I said yes no problem. I wasn't seeing till 7.30!! Which meant I waited hour an hour. Then for my nails to be all bandy, not one of them straight! and half of the Jel put on each nail, it was like they were afraid to use it!! Wouldn't recommend this place at all!! Read Less

I went here for the first time last week for a gel mani. I was pleasantly surprised. today is day 9 and there is only one tiny chip (because my nails are longer than normal and im not used to it) otherwise they are still perfect. To me, that's most important in a nail place... that my nails look good for a long time (especially for gel!). Many places i have done gel, it peels super quick because they don't buff the nail well or paint the base of the nail well so it starts chipping. The only thing i wish was different was that my nail tech was very quiet. even when i tried to make conversation she didn't really react or say anything.. I'm pretty friendly so i like someone to chat lightly with during a manicure but it wasn't the end of the world. i do like also, that they were patient with me while i chose a color. it took me forever but i didn't feel rushed like some places. :) Read Less

I love knowing that every time I go into this salon I am going to get great service. The staffs are often there all smiles and is constantly making sure that customers are well taken care of. The prices are reasonable for a nail salon and the work is always better tan expected. the most beautiful nails I have got is from this nail salon. I have to say that the products they use on the nails is the best because they can last very very long on my nails, untill more than 2 weeks. This is my usual nail salon, however, after my most recent visits I will not be back. The service here is so SLOW I can't stand it. Expect to spend at least an hour for a manicure and pedicure that isn't all that great. Classic Mom and Pop asian/vietnamese nail salon. Very reasonable prices (IIRC Mani/Pedi combo for $36) despite the pricy location. NNSC does have a somewhat lowbrow atmosphere (e.g no spa music). It's certainly worth going to at least once. Read Less

I got a set of Acrylic finger nails and a pedicure plus my little daughter got her nails & toes painted. We paid a total of $76 ($86 with gratuity). Positive:- Price is not too high- Number of comfy message chairs for the spa pedicures- Nice staffNegative:- My daughter's nail polish came off the very same day- My acrylic nails started falling from day 6 - I was told that my toes are completely dry and safe to put on my sock, it wasn't the case, the socks marked over the paint! I go here every time I have a special event or whenever I feel the need to pamper myself.  The ladies who work here are very friendly and you are always attended to in a very timely manner and with a smile.  This nail salon is one of the only places in Newton Centre with reasonable prices.  For a manicure/pedicure you pay only 35 dollars (36 if you choose to have the pumice stone treatment on your feet--well worth the extra dollar!)  Always satisfied with my experience here and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable manicure/pedicure in Newton. I have been to this no frills nail place many times.  Usually, the mani/pedi is fine.  Several months ago I had the shellac mani and the manicurist had no clue how to do it, they had to try to remove it (nearly impossible) and do a regular mani over it.  Ridiculous.This week I took my very well-behaved girls, 4 & 5, to treat them and myself to manicures.  The person who was working was so rude and I could feel that she would rather be doing anything else (girls were just having polish changes which is cheaper than a mani).  She asked if she could do one of my daughters, then take a whole gaggle of 11 year olds who had come in, before finishing myself and my other daughter. I told her she could do what she wanted, she was so rude, and I took both my kids and left.I will never go back to this place.  Stupid, greedy ladies should not be "servicing" the Newton crowd. I've been coming here for my summer pedis for 4 years. They are no frills - it's a true mom and pop set up. But they are clean (I always see them pull their stuff out of the sanitizers), fast (walk-ins are a snap), and my last pedicure lasted a record FOUR WEEKS. Regular old pedicure, not the new "gel" ones. FOUR WEEKS. (I can always get 3 weeks out of them, for sure.) And cheap. Very no-frills salon in Newton Centre, open decently late. (8 pm, I think).I popped in for a pedicure on a Wednesday night and had no wait. Good selection of Opi colors. My pedicurist was very nice and didn't aggressively hack at my hangnail, which was appreciated. She asked if I'd like the pumice stone (you know, that part where they scrape your feet and if you're at all ticklish, it's a certain kind of torture), which I don't enjoy, but always like having to clean up any dead skin. I assumed her asking if I'd like it meant there'd be an extra charge, so I politely declined.There didn't appear to be a price break for opting out of the stone treatment, so next time I'd go for it. She did a nice job on the nail filing and painting side, so I would come back if I'm in the area.They accept credit cards but you can't tip on them (I did feel bad about this), so bring a few bucks for tip.
