I will never go back here. Over priced and awful customer service. I got a pricey "performance polish" manicure that chipped on every nail within 2 days. Since they have a 5 day no chip policy I went in to have them fix it and the rude condescending receptionist gave me an attitude about it and tried to charge me for a polish change. Have had mixed results at this location, and I have gone several times because it is convenient. However, I recently had a gel manicure that chipped the very next day. Another time with a different technician, I got a pedicure with red polish and there were some smudges on the skin of various toes that I noticed upon inspecting closely after I left. So, I might go back for convenience, but its really not as good as it should be. I would expect a flawless mani or pedi every time, given the prices. #firstworldproblems I know, but if you pay $50+ for a pedicure, it should be perfect! I made an appointment and came in and was greeted. They asked what I wanted and and then gave me the gel colors and told me to go wait. I waited 15-20 minutes. They didn't have many colors to choose from. The lady that did my nails was really nice. But it's been only a week since I did my nails and they are already chipped and the paint falling off. It was $45 just for gel. Expensive for cheap paint. I got my nails done with gel for $20 and the color didn't chip for weeks. Spend your money elsewhere Read Less

I am a regular customer at this MiniLuxe location - getting manicures just about every week and pedicures every two or three weeks.  The technician, Anna, who did my last service was clearly not properly trained.  Her work was so sloppy that she had to start several nails anew in the midst of the service, but what was even more horrifying was the fact that she used her *own fingernails* to clean up the mess she made with the polish along my the edges of my fingernails. She did not use the clean, sterilized tools that MiniLuxe points to as distinguishing their services from others salons.  It was really repulsive.Most disappointing however is that I shared this feedback via their post-service online survey and in a follow-up email to their customer service address and didn't receive a response to either. I came to MiniLuxe for a Signature Mani & Pedi. I had my mani scheduled for 8:30 and pedi at 9, but when something came up in the morning, they were able to bump my mani to after the pedi! Yay! Usually they have tight schedules and can't do such things, but they do try their best and I lucked out this time!I had Ava for the mani pedi and she was GREAT. Whenever I looked around I could tell that she was one of the most thorough and meticulous technicians. She took her time and did a great job - I would recommend requesting her! She's also a very sweet person. I love the way my nails and toes look. I don't do mani pedis often, but I thought the service was exceptional. The 1 star lost is because I think they're overpriced - $20 for a mani and $39 for a pedi. But they did do a fantastic job, the location is clean, and everyone was kind. Read Less

Clean salon but customer service isn't good. An employee (not even the girl giving my service) asked me when I am due. I am a slim girl so I found this totally uncalled for and so random, when I told her I wasn't pregnant there was no apology, she completely changed subject as she realized she looked Iike an idiot. I received a gift voucher for Minilux's classic pedicure so finally got around to using it last week!Ava was my technician and she was GREAT! Very thorough with her work and made sure the water temperature and massage pressure was exactly how I liked it.This Minilux was super clean and a really inviting and pleasant atmosphere to sit in whilst having a relaxing pedicure. Miniluxe gave me a gorgeous pedicure today. The facility is super pretty, clean and spacious. One star down for the price ranges ($39 for the most basic pedicure?) and how hard it is to find an apt online! It may just be the future of nail salons though. The quality of the experience is great. Not a huge deal. The staff are friendly and accommodating - the nail technicians are very professional and tidy as well. I love Rita!!!! She is a magical wizard of pedicures! My sister and I see her every month (for years) for a pedicure. She treats us, her customers like they are part of her family. She is like an honorary sister to us! Everything is very clean and hygienic at this location. This was the worst manicure and pedicure I've had in a very long time. The nail salon was very clean and pretty but doesn't make up for the bad painting.  My nails were hardly filed after asking repeatedly to file them straight, the nail polish is super chunky and they even missed my pinky toe!  The prices are also super inflated, totally not worth it. I have gone to MiniLuxe in Newton Centre many times and have always been happy. I have gotten my nails done and eyebrow waxing. Last week though I went in to have my eyebrows done and the wax was left to get too hot. When the woman put it on it hurt very badly but I thought that maybe my skin was more sensitive because it was winter. When I went to my car I realized my face was very badly burnt. It is now a week later and there are still very noticible burns on my face and it still hurts very badly. I used to love MiniLuxe but I am not going anymore. Read Less

Why pretend you are more than you are? You pay for a quality service but in really, you are getting a cheap pedicure. The techs basically refuse to scrape off any callouses and if you even ask they try to up-charge.  The shop has no charm or personality. Save the money and go to a local 'chop shop' or splurge and go to a real nail salon. Read Less

NEVER GO HERE FOR YOUR EYEBROWS DONE! My mum went here for them doing and came back with one eyebrow and a cut nose. They wouldn't show her them when they'd finished and when my mum complained they said there was nothing they could do about it and still charged her!Read Less

Stay away from this place (Miniluxe Newton). One of the first and flagship locations of miniluxe. It used to be one of the best places you could go in for a service. Instead it has become a drive-thru salon where they will triple book the technicians to maximize their profits. So when you go in for a service you are rushed through the process, everybody form the manager Gina to the receptionist and the technicians are stressed out as and that experience is transferred to you. Instead of a relaxing and a fun spa atmosphere you are greeted with a corporate approach and unfriendly attitude. We will not be returning here for any more services. If you are first timer to this location, save your time and money and go to a place who would appreciate your business and treats you accordingly. Read Less

The stations are clean and I really appreciate the attention they give to the overall cleanliness of the store. Their selection of nail polish is always rotating and quite extensive. I was at the Newton MiniLuxe on a not very busy morning--there were five clients being served. While I waited for my manicure to begin, I asked if I could have a magazine. ""They're all in use right now,"" said the woman at the desk. Five customers were reading ALL of the magazines? The most low-budget salon in Manhattan can do better than that. On top of the water cooler, I noticed both paper cups for water and mugs for hot beverages. I asked one of the workers if this meant tea was available. I got an eye-roll as a response. I didn't push it. A full 15 minutes later, while I was getting my manicure, an employee stands in the middle of the salon and announces: ""Who wanted the tea?"" I was handed a cup of terrible rust-colored stuff with artificial sweetener already in it. Again, far more modest salons in Boston or NY can do better than that. I could deal with the irregular edges on my nails if the atmosphere was warm and pleasant. I do not blame the women who work there for that atmosphere--except for the immaculate white walls and the relative quiet, the place has as much atmosphere as a dollar store on 14th St. I hear the corporate head is looking to expand the brand quickly. Is the owner in such a rush to go big that employees are treated like replaceable units? That's the impression MiniLuxe left with me--a place where the workers don't seem valued. Read Less

I decided to check out MiniLux because one of my girlfriends swears by their Jimmyjane pedicure. I love trying new spa treatments so I thought the idea of using melted candle wax oil in a pedicure sounded interesting. It was awesome! Incredibly relaxing ? the oil was so soothing and smelled great. The girl doing my pedicure (Shana) was super fun and my toes looked perfect at the end. Overall an awesome experience! Read Less

I wasn't even a paying customer and they were wonderful. My friend was being trained by someone who won 'Best of Boston' in Improper Bostonian. What a beautiful place! I thought their sanitation methods, decor and products were fantastic!
