Just got my hair done with Rachel today, over the moon with it! Nicest I've had it in a long long time! She knew exactly what I wanted! In with Sinead every 2-3 weeks to get my eyelash extensions topped up, she always does the best job, it's such a beautiful salon! I've been coming here for @2 years now. I'm usually able to just walk in (only once was I asked to come back in an hour or so, as it was a holiday or right before one).The staff is always so nice and friendly - and remembers me, despite not being a "regular."They always do a great job and the polish lasts a while - especially when I did the longer-lasting, non-gel on their recommendation (I can't remember what it was called).The only downside is they are cash only. My husband went in last week for a pedicure and she cut the skin on his toe!  So dangerous to have an open wound on your toe in a place with all those germs!  Also, she did a lousy job on the nails - they're not even filed smooth!  I went in the shop to get a pedicure several years ago and the smell of chemicals was so strong that I had to leave.  Neither of us will be going back! Had the wonderful July special today. Facial was absolute bliss. Some salons tend to skimp on steps when it's a special offer but not this one. Adored the pumpkin scrub, massage was heavenly. I had a work conference this week and I needed my nails done ASAP. This business was recommended to me by a co worker since it was close to our office and my lunch break was going to be the only time I could squeeze my nails in. I called and made an appointment and they fit me right in. I needed a full set of acrylics put on since I had broken several of my own nails. They did not use a fake nail but rather just did an acrylic overlay of my natural nails, which was ok, but they do not look identical since my natural nails were all different lengths and for me the entire purpose of paying extra for acrylic vs. a normal mani is so that my nails look uniform. When I asked her about it, she insisted her way was better and it would look more natural. Well they don't. So strike 1. When she was finishing and asked me about color and if I wanted gel I told her no. This place only takes cash and I only had a certain amount on me and didn't budget paying extra for the gel. Well this woman wouldn't take no for answer, despite the fact that I repeated myself several times telling her No No No. She kept asking me why and I kept telling her I did not have the money, Strike 2. But that did not stop her and at one point she told me I could write a check. Are you kidding me????  Strike 3. I understand they are in the business of sales and they make more money with the gel but when a customer tells you no, more than once, it should be left alone and dropped. The fact that she insisted on it, in front of other customers and was putting me on the spot was completely inappropriate and frankly just pissed me off. And I'm not afraid to say no, so I did...over and over again. Finally I told her I'd get the gel if it was the same price as a regular full set...funny she didn't agree to that. Overall, this place was fine in a pinch because I was stuck. But I will make time to go to my regular salon in the future even if I have to go at 8am on a Sunday, and would not go back to this salon. Just because we are children they charged us twice what the amount they told us = $54. I've gone several times only because the salon is near my house. They have old nail polish with no new colors. They talk to each other the whole time and don't make any conversation unless it are a veteran there. They also overbook which gets frustrating when you're on a schedule. My first 20 minute spa pedicure.  My technician rushed because they double-booked me with one of her regular customers who was getting a pedi/shellac.  Her customer offered to let someone else do her pedicure, but the technician said that she would only have to wait a few minutes.  Indeed she did.  She did a good job with my cuticles and polish, but left lotion sitting on my legs and did not massage my feet at all.  I was very disappointed and will not return. My mani/pedi is SPOT ON and done quickly and efficiently.  Great color selection.  They do gel/shellac. Had to tell her there was still nailpolish on a couple of toenails, then she forgot to put lotion (wouldn't call it a "massage" like I usually get) on one foot and leg. I was desperate to get a quick manicure on my lunch break and found Venus Nail was right by my office, so I scooted down there and was very pleased with all aspects of the service.  The ladies were very friendly and talked to me like I was an old friend.  The woman doing my nails took her time and did an amazing job!  My usual "go-to" salon always missed the polish on the sides of my nails, the french manicures would be uneven and it would peel within days.  Parking was a breeze to find; there is metered on street parking, or the lot behind Starbucks.  Yes, the inside of the salon could use some sprucing up, but when I get my nails done I don't pay attention to how the place looks, as long as they do a good job with my nails!  Pricing was very reasonable, but they don't accept credit cards so have cash or a check on hand!I would definitely recommend Venus Nail, you won't be disappointed! I recently went into Venus Nails to get the new Gel Nail applications.  When I told them what I wanted she was more then helpful on giving me tips on how to make the gels last longer, what to avoid doing, and how to fix them if I needed to. They even explained how long my next appointment would be. My nails lasted the 2 full weeks without chipping. : )Venus nails was very clean, and the girls there were extremely friendly to me. I love this place. I have honestly been to so many nail salons where I am either being talked about behind my back for a full 45min, or the manicure/pedicure does not look that great. The women at Venus nails are all great and always remember me. Pedicures are nice and don't kill your feet, and manicures are always professional looking and clean. They offer gels and acrylics which are also done with precision-- and the best part is, is that the prices are reasonable! $12 mani, twenty something for a pedi... I had pretty low expectations when I went in here one day as I've been dissapointed with nail places lately.  I was, however, pleasantly surprised at how good the quality of my manicure and pedicure is.  The manicure stayed on for well over a week and still looked decent! Added bonus is that they spoke English around clients.  I felt very comfortable here.Things to look out for: be sure to bring cash or check, they don't take credit cards.  Parking is painful. I have had acrylics for 10+ years, both in the US and in Japan, and this is by far the best quality ever. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming, but also willing to let you have some quiet time. This is not the plush salon where they bring you tea, low lighting, and have new age relaxation music playing in the background, but you do not pay the price for all of that either. Go during their off times, and they will spend the extra time with you. Want to get in and out, they accommodate that as well. They even do beautiful french and nail art, and even take young girls with age appropriate colors and designs.Read Less
