Love City Nails. Sophia is my girl, she is the best and super sweet. When I first started going to City nails, the crazy nails were in and Sophia would do amazing detailed freehand designs and never would be upset about having to do them. The prices are cheap for the service provided and they make it a comfortable enviornment. Union St location isn't the best place, but it works for them and they're always busy. I usually don't have to wait long without an appointment, except for around lunch or dinner time which is expected. Read Less

Terrible attitude on owner Sophia my nails came out horrible sloppy work ... place is filthy, flies ,dirty floors ,they never clean the stations it's a disgrace .. the pedi chairs all broken the UV lights are disgustingly dirty very unsanitary... not to mention the bathroom the place should be shut down .. only care about getting your money ...BEWARE!! My first time and let's say it was wonderful! The nail techs took very good care of my sister and I who went in for refills and pedis. I came to this spot because my mom and sister have been before and said they did a really good job and it's true they do.. I will be returning back in a few weeks for the same services we got! Monica (Lisa) was so sweet she did both services for me and I loved the way she shaped my nails and was very patient with me. Customer service was great and that's what's most important to me. Tina is hands down the best person I've ever had do my nails. I'm normally very picky and previously have to explain in detail what I want and how I like my nails. With Tina I can say do whatever you want and they never end up coming out anything less than amazing. Read Less

I had an okay time. I went there and asked for a square oval shape for my nails and the lady messed them up and did almond shape that I didn't ask for and make me pay more.for..the shape!!. I really don't think I'll go there anymore. ideal rather pay more.for.a.good full set than pay 30 for what I got. they are too. thick. they look like crap. I and when she was using the electric file it kept burning my nail beds. and she didn't cut my cuticles. and she didn't listen when in told her I don't like them and she said that's okay bill fix it and she didnt.I will.not.go back there Read Less

The girl that did my nails did a horrible job! She had to take my gel nail polish off and she was scrubbing it off like crazy, which pretty much destroyed my nails. Then she filed them too much and now they are extremely thin. On top of that, my cuticles on 3 fingers are bleeding. She had this awful attitude when I tried to tell her I don't like it when she files my nails so much. On top of that, their selection of gel colors was not very good and you had to pay extra for certain brands (which I've never seen before). Their regular polishes looked very old and they didn't put a base before they put the color on (which I've never seen before). Never going back there. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I called ahead for an appointment and I still had to wait 45 minutes... only 4 people working. City nails is the only place that I will get my nails and wax done... They are the best,  and always busy,  so I'd call for an appointment before popping in.  They take walk-ins too... City nails has always been my go-to place because they're one of the best nail salons in Lynn and they're very talented at what they do. It's a real shame though that the service isn't as great as their talent. They're not like incredibly rude, I mean some of them are really friendly but the newer girls aren't that professional. I decided to go with passion nails also in Lynn because I was disappointed about the way I was treated last time. city nails does a great job but don't expect to get great customer service (hopefully you won't get any of the new girls). While trolling yelp for a nail salon that will do anything I want to my nails, I stumbled upon this little gem. The staff at City Nails could not have been nicer and are willing to fulfill your ultimate nail fantasy. For me it was a hot pink/glitter/zebra design with shellac which is still perfect days later. The only reason I am not giving City Nails 5 stars is because decor is lacking and the space is in desperate need of a make over.  I loved the efficiency, the immaculate job, the eager to please staff, the friendly vibe and the overall product. Lynn, Lynn, the city of sin,Your nails look way better than when you came in!If you want a nice, quiet, relaxing spa environment - do not come to City Nails. If you want a fun, entertaining, laugh-out-loud pamper sesh - welcome home! The ladies in here are awesome - Nica the owner is actually one of the more mild-mannered of the group, not like many salons where the owner is barking orders at her serva-- I mean, employees. The rest of the crew are all clearly pretty close and relaxed and it makes for a welcoming spot.Kim & Tina are hysterical cousins - born and raised local so full of sass and spunk. Kim did my pedi - she had me pick out a nail design first so she matched the pedi color to the design, but not before suggesting I get the design on my big toe & just do the color on the rest. These girls must moonlight as used-car salesmen because the whole staff just upsells you all day! I declined the pedi design and Kim got to work - efficient, not too fast, not too slow, meticulous (in a good way) and chatty the whole time. It was a great pedi.Tina did my fill - she told me my nails were basically shot (even though they were only two weeks old!) and I should go for a new set instead of a fill. On this I actually did agree with her because my every nail was lifting from the nailbed and the overall quality was just lacking. Screw it - let's go full set.As she applies the nails, Tina asks me if I'd like to try the UV gel. I've already established that I want gel over the design to make it last, and she tells me the full gel nail -- better powder, etc. -- is only $5, lasts longer, and looks better. Shit, she got me again. Sold!Tina does one of the best nail designs I have ever had. Ever. Seriously, the up-selling thing doesn't even bother me that much because if you REALLY don't want something, just say no. Plus that's these girls' jobs -- to make money. Can you blame them? I can't. Not when Tina is turning my phalanges into fantastic fingernails of fun!Pretty much the only hangup during the whole afternoon was the UV light availability. They only have one large (two hander) and one small (one hander), and both were in use. Tina and I had to wait about 15 minutes before one was available. I didn't really mind; there was so much going on around with all the conversations and chatting with Kim and Tina -- 15 minutes came and went. The finished product was outstanding - I still can't stop looking at it! My style is absolutely over-the-top crazy but this talented shop can make any nail style/design/type/shape/whatever a reality for you.Price-wise, I ended up paying $68 for a pedi ($23) and a "fill" turned full set ($20 + $10 for gel topcoat + $5 for full gel + $10 for design = $45). Considering all the bells and whistles, not bad. I definitely would have skipped the pedi if I had known my $15 fill was going to turn into $45, but I'm still happy & will be back for more. Love City Nails! I initially heard about City Nails from my friend who is a Lynn resident and has been a loyal customer for years. She gets the Bio-Gel. She absolutely loves it.  So I decided to go with her after hearing her rave and having immaculate nails. I'm not exactly sure why more people haven't reviewed this place. It's ALWAYS packed. I can only make it on Saturdays since I work close by at my part-time. So when I can I tell my boss I'm leaving early rush out the door and make the 15 min drive to Lynn from East Boston.Let's be real the actual building is not the most glamorous or chic but whatever. IDGAF about the building when it comes to a $30 mani-pedi! Go see Cindy. She's awesome. She took about 45 mins on my feet. (Poor thing) She's soft spoken, young and DETAILED.  She cleans her tools and the pedi-tub before and after each client.  If you're looking for a quick pedi Cindy is not for you but she is by not means slow.She also did my mani and it was fantastic. She really takes her time with cuticles, double and triple checks. First time I haven't been abused by the cuticle nipper.The other girls are also great.
