Had my nails done within a week 2 nails had snapped off you happily agreed both times for them to be fixed how ever after then I didn't have the time to be coming into the shop everyday for them to be fixed. They was wonky by the first guy for which the girl the second time rectified by filing however over the next few days they all snapped off one by one except the one the lady did it's still going strong now. For a regular mani/pedi it's super clean, the staff is very friendly, and they do a good job. But my shellac manicure is coming off less than a week later, and not just in little chips. It's fully peeling. So overall, go if you need a quick manicure for an event, but don't spend a ton of money there. EDIT: just had the best pedicure of my life. Definitely recommend. Read Less

I wanted so badly to like this salon. It was clean, the employees were all very friendly and they accommodated me as a walk-in with no wait. The girl did a great job actually painting my nails, it was near perfect. The down side was during the cuticle cutting. She dug so deeply on the sides of my toenails and it hurt. I thought maybe I was just being sensitive, so I didn't say anything. It never bled or anything, but hurt for days afterward. Fast forward now almost a month and a half later, four toes are all still very sore to the touch and are also still red, two have produced a fluid buildup in the skin. I have some sort of fungal infection that I am now going to the doctor's to treat. Again, I really wanted to like them, but unfortunately, I can't go back. This place is dirty! They use their instruments on mutiple customers without sanitizing them in between. The foot baths were not sanitized I between uses and there were cuticles and nails everywhere. Also, my pedicure looked awesome until the person who did my manicure stepped on it and then tried to fix it and did not succeed. I had to ask my manicurist to apply a top coat and to let my nails before I left. I asked that I not be massaged, because the manicurist was hurting me and I was ignored. I'm pretty sure the person working on my hands had never done a manicure before. Anyways don't go here if you want to avoid a terrible infection. This place should be inspected. Read Less

Pedicure was pretty good - nice massage and spent a good amount of time with the hot stones. I did have some excess red polish around my toenails though.Shellac Mani was MEH. She didn't even clean up my cuticles, just filed my nails, and some of the clear gel stuff pooled on one nail into a big lump.Shellac mani & pedicure was $54.... not worth it.Ambiance was not great. There was a baby in the salon who was whining and they were playing loud nursery songs on the iPad for him.... I was escaping my own children for a little me-time only to have to listen to this. I go to Star Nails religiously every other week to get shellac done, and Melissa is AMAZING! I have also gotten my toes done there and ALWAYS get them done by Cindy and she is just incredible! I leave there feeling so relaxed and wanting to take a nap! 10/10 Would recommended!!! Read Less

I brought my niece and stepdaughter here for a girls day. We all got Gel manis and regular pedis. Over $200 later, 2-3 days later, ALL 3 of our manis started falling apart. Peeling, Chipping,etc. I've never had even a basic mani last less than a week?? I went back for a refund on the Manis only and they refused. Visited Star Nails a few times for a pedicure.  The last pedicure I had a young girl who was on her iPhone texting WHILE doing my pedicure.  I thought, ok, maybe an emergency at home.  But the texting was excessive and rude, I was not in the mood to say anything that day, after all, just trying to relax and enjoy my pedi.  I go back again, and I get the same young girl! This time she was so worried about another customer who was waiting (customer seemed quite irritated) she hurried my pedicure and basically slapped on the polish so fast there was polish around my toenails on my feet. Today was my first day going there & I went to get a pedicure. It was AMAZING, definitely my new favorite nail place by far. Only $26 for a pedicure and they give you an amazing massage & even hot stones! It is so new & clean inside with a huge variety of colors to choose from. The day has come for Ipswich and the North Shore to finally welcome an exceptional nail salon.  This is by far the best Gel manicure you will find!  The salon is immaculate and the owner and staff are very friendly.  Sit back, soak those toes and enjoy a deluxe pedicure with a hot stone massage, indulge in a professional manicure where you can have it as plain as you like or go for the longer lasting OPI Lacquer.  I cannot say enough about their Gel application technique... this is top quality that you will not find anywhere else!  I am very particular about my nails and have had the Gel overlay for the past three years.  Star Nails uses the airbrush technique for the french manicure, making it look like your natural nail.  I will never go anywhere else!  The salon is new to town and will eventually include waxing and other spa offerings.  Can't wait for my next day of pampering at Star Nails!
