My hair came out great but be prepared for the price. Over $300 with tip. Everything is added to the price. Base color wasn't included with balyage. A small trim was full price. A treatment was the most I've ever been charged at a salon. In hindsight I feel like I should have taken that glass of wine I was offered! I followed my favorite hair stylist to her new workplace (as in customer... not a stalker) at Carve in Holyoke. There are a lot of parking spaces, so you don't need to furiously hunt for spaces/feed the meters like you do in Northampton. When you walk in, you are immediately welcomed and the salon space is huge! I was apparently used to stylist chairs being on top of each other, walking right next to the hair washing sinks in order to even get to the reception area... not the case here! My stylist, Ali, is awesome and she has cut my hair, my wife's hair, and my daughter's hair for years. The salon has great lighting, which should be top priority in any salon, and the decor is really trendy/fun. The flower wall is such a great idea for a photo backdrop! Full-service salon that delivers a consistent haircut - yes, for men, too! I've been coming to Carve for many months now to see Chelsea. At first, I thought the prices were a little high (in comparison to discount salons like Great Clips or SuperCuts); however, it's important to realize that the price includes a drink while you wait, the cut itself, and shampoo & conditioner. All of that paired with stylists who are passionate about what they do -> I'd say you are getting quite a deal. This is the most amazing hair salon I have ever been to! I walk in and it has a welcoming, energetic feel. I booked my appointment with Tina. Who was amazing and friendly. I got sat at this beautiful farm table while my color sat and I got offered wine. Who doesn't love that after a long day at work? No one that's right. So I'm sitting at this tabl and realize there is a beautiful tray of all color of nail polish, some cotton and nail polish remover. I could do My nails right now? I love Carve. You walk in and immediately feel welcomed by the whole staff. It's such a happy place. Lindsey thanks for making me feel amazing every time I go in. I've been to Carve since they opened and I would never go anywhere else. I just recently brought by almost 2 year old daughter for her first haircut. Lindsey was so awesome she had to cut her hair over my husband because my daughter wouldn't sit alone. That's talent!! Her hair looks awesome. I too wanted to love this salon. Their new space is beautiful. The staff are super friendly. Talented hairstylists. The reason I stopped going is because both my daughter and I had our appointments changed multiple times on multiple occasions. My daughter twice had her appointments cancelled or rescheduled on several occasions. I decided to stick with this salon until the same happened to me. I am not sure if its due to actual emergencies, illnesses, or things beyond their control, or if was due to low work ethic or lack of commitment. Either way it got to the point that I cannot count any appointment made with them and had to stop going there. I really wanted to love this place because the salon is very well appointed, love the decor, love the beverages and loved my stylist but didn't love the hair.  My stylist was super nice but between being juggled with 2 other clients over 4 hours... yep 4 hours for balyage. I was not impressed I even went back two days later to get my hair fixed. I'm not sure if it's lack of training or the fact she was trying to push so many clients through but I left with more of a dramatic ombré ish effect way too blonde and now my hair is like straw. Beautiful space and wonderful staff. You're greeted when you walk in with a complete coffee bar serving local Mt. Joe Coffee, and Fort Hill Brewery lagers/beers. There is also a good selection of tea, and wine. Boho posh is the decorative feel. It's easy to imagine you're hanging out in a super cool chic Brooklyn loft sipping on a choice beverage after a long day. Did I mention your coffee is served on a platter with Italian cookies? And while you wait for your hair to set at the gorgeous long farmhouse table you can paint your nails or access Netflix on one of the IPads!? Whitney is my stylist and is amazing. She is part owner with 5 other expert cosmetologists who have a decade plus of experience and actually spent 2 years apprenticing before taking on their own clients. They have added other members to the staff but this truly is a "sister" run business and the long time dream all involved.
