Horrible!!! It was so busy there and was going to leave and the woman says, oh we have a lot of workers today we can do you right away. Ok, so a lady sits down and starts setting up while my feet are soaking. Then a teenage boy shows up and takes over for her, and she went to someone else. He was so nervous and shaky, and some other workers would walk by and chuckle and correct him, he did not know what he was doing. Then another lady comes over and paints my nails. Prior to heading out on vacation I called ahead for a first time visit to this salon and was pleasantly surprised with the care and time that the tech spent on my manicure and pedicure. Plenty of big screen televisions with a recent release movie showing, and yes they try to up sell you on everything but that’s par for the course. Service is strictly terrible! The nail techs think it's ok to text in between painting fingernails. The girl rushed through and I felt like I wasn't a valuable customer after turning down gel polish on my real nails. This place has gone down hill...went a week or so ago with a few family members and the minute we all walked in we were rushed to pick a color. The wait wasn't too long so I'll give them that plus they play movies while your getting your nails done so that's nice too. The lady who did my nails....first of all took forever to take off the color I had on previously (not sure if had to do with the drill) but she did a decent job..nothing out of this world but the person one of my family members had was badddddd, she cut her fingers up sooo bad, told her the color she wanted she couldn't have cause someone was using it (Mind you she had just begun the work so I'm sure the color would have been available by the time it was polish time), then when it was time to pay she grabbed the money out of her hands assuming she was getting a large tip when it was actually change she was asking for. And....the gel has already cracked and started coming off (another place I've gone to has gel that stays on perfectly for ATLEAST 3 weeks...hence why maybe the last had a hard time taking off my previous color) I would not recommend this place, you're better off going somewhere else where it might not be as big but you'll get way better service even if you have to wait a little bit. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. My second to last time I went there, I had 3 different people work on my nails. The kept moving me from station to station. Decided to give it one more try ... huge mistake. The person didn’t let the gel soak off my nails long enough so she literally pulled it off ... with several layers of my nail with it. I went a couple days ago to get a color change on my acrylic nails, when the polish was being taken off by the drill I noticed I had three broken nails, in which I told her to fix. She fixed them, I was not pleased with the shape because my nails have the coffin shape and she managed to screw that up. Well w.e I left and Kinda fixed them at home. Today my middle nail broke on my left hand and my index finger on my right, both cracked so I went back to fix them there mind you I don't go there because of their shitty job. I went to get it fixed and she didn't wanna take off my two cracked nails she wanted to go over again with acrylic I said no because they'll break again... long story short she made the nails so fat and ugly- I had a melt down in my car and went to cvs and bought a file and started fixing my own nails. On top of that she didn't remove the acrylic from the skin and when I took it I was bleeding from my index finger. Point is I paid 10 dollars to fix two nails in which they came out horrible... they do what they want and don't listen to the customer. Read Less

Words can not describe the damage my nails, toenails and psyche have endured.MANICURE:Not only did I have raw bleeding infected throbbing useless fingers for a week from when the woman SAWED through my actual finger skin (pressing down on my fingers like she was sawing a loaf of bread over and over and over instead of simply filing my nail) even after I said "ouch", but also my nails are now paper thin because she filed the TOP of my nails with the coarse file too for whatever reason. If they were even able to grow long enough, I could probably roll them up like a piece of paper even WITH the gel/shellac on. Which by the way chipped badly after just a few days and I am normally able to maintain a gel manicure for 3 weeks to a month. I have never had a worse experience. They didn't look that great after all that either.PEDICURE: Everything was fine except the oozing bruised ingrown toenails I developed from the way she dug in there and clipped the sides of my toenails out. They ended up being so painful that I couldn't walk for a couple days and had to leave them in little Epsom salt filled toe bags so they could grow without digging into my skin anymore. Also the paint chipped off pretty quickly and I can normally maintain a pedicure for about a month or until the paint grows off.I have been horrified to the point where I am nervous to try another place on the east coast because I don't want anyone to touch my hands or toes. Today was a first time for my mom and I and we really enjoyed it. First I'mpression was they're very friendly and they had a lot of choices and they offered water. What made them stick out a lot to me is the fact they have iPads and chargers at the pedicure stations and the movie was amazing too!! This place is a hit or miss. It really depends on who you get. They are always busy but I think it's because the location really benefits them they are in the plaza with market basket and marshals. The inside is very nicely decorated and they are always playing the latest movies which is really nice. There is a lot of parking but then again it's in a plaza. Worst nail salon. I've come here before but this last experience will make sure I never come back. After numerous times of telling the lady that I wanted the special of $35 she kept hassling me for different one. So she went ahead and told me that my blue nail polish was not going to be fully removed because I was not doing the gel and that you would see the color underneath my new color selection. She ended up not doing a great job and then told me my mani- pedi was 45 instead of $35. I even had cuts all over my fingers and doesn't even look like I got my nails done by a professional. Also when I did the eyebrow and upper lip wax she went ahead and put wax in an area that had nothing to do with my upper lip and then try to tell me it's too late to remove it now she would charge me an extra $2. I didn't ask for that I just wanted to get pampered and services not mistreated or have someone constantly keep trying to up-sell me. I've never been to a place that doesn't scrub the bottom of your feet. When I asked her why she gave me attitude. I also got a manicure, I didn't even comment on how horrible they were because I would've flipped out. My nails finished drying and I walked out...the woman doing my nails said NOTHING to me. So, I am completely disappointed in my mani-pedi... I had gone in with the intention of getting gel on both but quickly was informed that I am too poor to get gel on my feet. I brushed it off and received just a plain old pedicure. Upon my arrival I had to change the color of my nails 3 times because they were "out" of the colors I had chosen. So, I chose a different "nude" that turned out to be bubble gum pink. Once leaving the salon I looked down at my hands and feet and noticed the horrific job they had done on both me and my cousin. Three days later my nails are chipping off and they are gel.I will not be recommending this nail salon to anyone. Which is upsetting because I used to be a frequent customer and was always pleased. at first , I had a pleasant experience as my nails were completed very quickly... but I feel as if they were rushed and careless. I had come here with a few of my friends to have our nails done before we leave for Washington. We had previously booked an appointment so when we arrived , we didn't have to wait long. All of my friends were assigned a seat and someone to work on their nails..... all except one. One friend in particular sat and waited for almost 25 minutes. I was finished with my nails at this point and decided to go and see my other friends. I walked over to her and she was still waiting for attention. I decided to go to this salon because I live in Haverhill and thought rather than driving all the way to North Reading as I have been for the past year I will give this place a try. When I got to Royal nails it was very busy but there were probably about 30 different technicians working. I noticed that the lady that was doing my nails did some things differently than what I was used to however I've figured it's a different place they have their own methods it's fine. The first thing that I noticed was that she did not file both hands the same which left one hand with square nails and the other with sharp edges. When I mentioned to her I don't think you filed this one she said oh no no I did go wash your hands. I come back and she quickly informs me that the massage part of the manicure will not be happening because they're so busy but if I come back when it's not as busy she will give me a hand massage. If I just wanted my nails painted I wouldn't have paid for a manicure however I just brushed it off as I already felt uncomfortable. As she continued talking on her cell phone I grew angry and just wanted to get ready to leave. The very next day my nails which were gel began to crack at the tips and chip. Anyone that gets gel nails knows that your nails do not chip from the end they begin to grow out but they don't usually chip which is why people tend to get them. My experience here was absolutely disappointing aside from the screaming walkie-talkies as I felt like I was in a factory of nail care I will never return here and I will continue to go to North Reading to luxor nails as they do not care how busy they are they will spend their time and make sure you get the best massage, whether it's a pedicure or manicure, of your life. I suggest everyone to try the salon out in North Reading and to never step foot in Royal nails, it is terrible and not very sanitary. Read Less

Have been coming here since they opened have only had a few less than great technicians, but the majority of staff do a amazing job. I like to go early on week days when they aren't busy and can take extra care of you. They always offer little snacks and drinks. So many seats, tvs and iPads at every pedicure massage chairs. I love this place! Angle and T are my favorite. T does my acrylics every time. I've never left unhappy. Since I've found this place I CANNOT go anywhere else. They have the biggest selection of colors, and are consistantly adding more. They keep up with trending new hot techniques, and I'm always excited to try anything they recommend. The hot stone pedicure with paraffin wax, and massage is a MUST. I die  and float to heaven every time I treat myself. I rant and rave about this place to everyone I know... Well,overall service is like a sweatshop,atmosphere too crowed and loud .the techs. Speak amonge themselves in a launguage of their own.Expertise...poor in my opinion.In brief...I went for a pedicure,my great right toe was nipped and it was bleeding .24 hours later I needed Toe surgery (very painful)to remove the toe nail antibiotics for 2 weeks I notified the owner Alex he felt badly he refunded me $25 of the $ 50 pedi.when my insurance only covered 80% of the surgery I called him to let him know. First,he had no remerance I than reminded him of the picture I showed him of my toe.He remembered then!.I reminded him of the balance for the remainder of the the copayment he responded with I will call you back "2 days later no return call " I called him again,this time he replied "I have to find out who my insurance company is" 1 week later I called him back.this time he told me to "call back after the holidays" He played me like a fool,I felt very disrespected .I already waisted my time Karma!!! Please note this is on my latest visit...I love my nail tech and now will only visit her.I have been a regular at Royal Nails since they opened. I aslo have jumped from nail tech to nail tech as my original nail tech was always busy even 3 weeks out...I just settled on another nail tech who is awesome. I get a callus pedi and she leaves me super smooth. Like Super smooth. Today I went in for a mani pedi as i am going on vacation tonight and needed one asap, Lily was not available (my regular nail tech), I was desperate so I went with the next one. Normally, the person they assign you does your mani and pedi...This lady left me mid-session (nails were next) to go with another customer. The next lady was ok very sweet. Once my pedi dried up I saw how horrible the job was...Apologies for the picture (on my facebook review), it was a must. I paid extra for a service I did not receive. I am am very unsatisfied. I went over to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager and they told me she was doing someones eyelashes. They ended up calling the nail tech and she was trying to smooth one over on me offering me oil and such...NO. I wanted to make a formal complaint as the manager is awesome and always asks me to let them know when the job is not well done. Here is the job not well done. I have been coming here on and off pretty much since they opened. The reason really only being because it was convenient, never have to wait, they pretty much get the job done. It has changed so much since the beginning. Now, it is like a factory. They do not give you a chance to pick out your nail polish color, they hover over you if you don't decide in about 3 seconds. There are a lot of minuscule things that bother me about this place, but my last visit was the icing on th...e cake. I was absolutely horrified when I witnessed my nail tech pour the acetone that my nails were just soaking in back into the bottle to be reused on the next client. This is my go to nail salon. I have been coming here for years. I see Angel religiously for my every two week appointment, she is nothing but amazing. I can walk in, sit down tell her do whatever she wants and walk out with a fabulous new color or design without having to think. They are always friendly, very busy but very concerned with every customer that walks in while dealing with so many other people at the same time.i read these reviews and the customers complaints are just ridiculous they run a fast pace business at all times, but they give you as much as attention you need. This place was probably the worst nail visit I have ever had! All my toe nail polish and my shellac came off after 3 days and the managers words were nail polish chips yeah not after 3 days I asked for my money back no I don't want it done again for it to chip again in 3 days and all they would Give me is what to would cost for a polish change. When spending 80.00 on yourself and tipping you want something that is going to last not cheep nail polish that won't even stay on your nails! They charge an extra $10.00 to use the scraper for a pedicure...try to fast talk you into more services...dont listen to what you want...and even ripped off my younger daughter once..telling her she needed a new full set when she only needed a fill. The owner is nice..but i dont think she sees all and hears all that her employees say... plus they talk talk talk to each other and you know they are talking about you because all eyes end up looking right at you. Stay clear of this place! The atmosphere is like a circus, noisy and lame attempts by the staff (who struggle with english) to make it seem like everyone is having fun by making catcalls and laughing loudly at nothing in particular. The tools are not disposable, and they are DIRTY. The techs don't clean them, they just wipe them off and use them on the next customer. The tubs are rinsed, not disinfected, and then refilled and used by the next customer. I saw two techs sharing instruments while doing pedicures on customers seated side-by-side. Disgusting. No concept of cleanliness and poor quality work. It's cheap, but once was enough for me. This is a case of getting what you pay for. If you're okay with risking a foot fungal infection, go for it.
