Loved my nails yesterday when I got them done however the tape came off, and it really shouldn't come off the following day. When I saw that Elegant Touch had a rwview of only 3 stars I was shocked. I started goinf to this salon when they 1st opened when I was in high school and Im 34 now. I have done waxing, full sets of acrylic, manicures, spa pedicures, & most recently I have been getting the new full set they do which has no chemicals, it is AMAZING and the best part is you DO Not need nail polish. They product the use to make the artificial name comes in so many different colors. I am always looking for reviews of places and sometimes I wonder if thw review can be trusted. I promise you if to go to Elegant Touch you will not be disapointed, it will be your new go to salon for waxing, nails, pedicures, and facials. The owners Helen & Tom are awesome people who truely care about their customers being happy. Before Helen brings new products into the salon ahe tries them for awhile on herself 1st to make sure its a product she herself would use & like. The staff was very nice BUT the man who did my nails had very dirty hands, my nail polish chipped off shortly after, and I got a fungal infection, so my actual nails started flaking and chipping off and feel jagged and horrible. Really uncomfortable and upset. Will never go back. I always go to another place around the corner but they were closed that day- never again here. Read Less

I am from out of town and needed an appointment in a pinch - they immediately responded to my Facebook request and I was in there within the hour. PROMPT! The place is very nice, with great equipment and ambiance. I enjoyed both nail techs (mani/pedi) - friendly and swift. Too soon to tell if the gels will hold but I love the color! Unfortunately, I went here two weeks ago for a pedicure and the employee butchered the nails of both big toes. Cut them at a ridiculous angle that will surely cause ingrown toe nails. I'm very disappointed and nervous about this considering I am also 6 months pregnant. I will never go here again. Read Less

Never will be back for an eyebrow wax again. I have had many eyebrow waxes in the past so I know it is normal for the wax to feel warm but not too hot. I also know it is normal to have mild skin irritation and redness for a few hours after the wax. When the wax was applied it felt warm but not too hot. But when it was waxed off, my skin felt RAW. That evening, the wax marks weren't going away. It is now day 4 post wax and I still have hideous marks. Thank God for makeup coverup but I am terrified I may have some scarring down the line. Not sure yet because my skin is still healing. To top it off, my eyebrows were uneven, one was waxed much thinner then the other. Read Less

This is a little better than the standard nail salon. The place is pretty spacious and clean (they use those giant shower-cap-type liners for the pedicure tubs). The nail technician did a great, but quick job. Mani lasted a week and pedi a few weeks. The only reason they do not have five starts is because they were super busy in the middle of the day on a weekday. I had an appointment and still had to wait (so did everyone else there). The only reason I came back is because I was given a gift card.. I only come about once a year. Every single time they give poor service! This time was no exception!! They always tell you yes of course they can service you when you walk in and then they make you wait!! The staff is rude and I wouldn't mind waiting if they were just honest with the wait time... I hate to write a bad review but I am just so frustrated. I got a full set done here two weeks ago and 6 out of 10 nails have broken.  I understand things can happen if I hit something the wrong way or accidentally get my hand caught on something causing the nail to break, the set I got is just so flimsy that they've been breaking on their own. This was my first time here and I loved it. I don't often treat myself to mani-pedi, so I want a nice relaxing experience when I do. They offer a spa atmosphere with a lovely decor that was quiet with soft music and lighting. The staff was professional friendly. I will be back for sure! Read Less

Just got my nails done here and can't believe the amount of customers they have given the low level of customer service. The nail tech I had was completely distracted during my pedicure and manicure and did a very poor job at removing calluses and massaging my feet during the pedicure. She basically slapped the lotion on my feet and calves. She also used quick dry on my nails without telling me it was an extra charge. While most places do charge for quick dry they usually at least tell you. She didn't help me into the nail dryer either so I almost nicked a nail and she didn't ask if I wanted to pay or put my coat on before painting my nails. These are basics at any and every salon I go to in NYC! By the time I realized she hadn't asked I was already getting my nails painted. Also no shoulder massage at all even when buying a mani pedi package.Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Not inexpensive for the mediocre to bad service they provide. Every time I go I always end up saying 'why did I give them another chance'. I've been going here on and off since it first opened and I must say over the years they've gotten bigger but their work hasn't grown with them. I recently went with my 2 bridesmaids to get out nails done for my wedding. I went in with expectations of what I wanted for my big day and made it very clear to the gal what I wanted- several times. After she did a quick shoddy job on my pedicure she tried to talk me out of getting a full set because she simply didn't want to do it. After I literally pleaded with her she did a sub par job leaving uneven nails and lots of bumps from the gel coating. This is the last time I give them my money. Read Less

I've been here twice before when I visit from Los Angeles and always had a good experience. This time I had a practitioner that wasn't welcoming from the beginning- never smiled-asked, "what do you want?". When I told her I'd like the basic mani-pedi she suggested the gels. I expressed that I prefer only OPI gels and she continued, "almost 80% of our clients get gels". I proceeded to explain that I prefer OPI. When asked if I had gels on she said it would be $5 to remove my current gels so I decided to just get a pedicure. She said nothing to me after that. When she finished, she said "wait 5 minutes to dry". I waited 10 then pulled my flip flops on and got ready to pay she took my credit card and I asked her to clean out the sides of my toes-where she left dirt-she said I pressed it and smudged the polish- she removed the polish and said, "what do you want me to do?-remove the ingrown?" I re-iterated, "no, just clean it on the sides". she did it, repolished and walked off saying, "you can leave when youre ready.." hmmm...how would you feel if you had that experience? Aw, I can't believe no one has reviewed this hidden jewel yet! My history with Elegant Touch is long(ish) and unfortunately has a tragic ending (for me, not the business).I first dipped my toes into their pedi bath back in 2006 upon the recommendation of a friend. This friend knows a lady who actually goes and sits in nail salons -- without getting her nails done -- just to see how clean and sanitary they are. Guess what? Elegant Touch passed her white glove test. A-ok in my book.It took me a while to find "my girl," but once Kim pristinely manicured my paws, I knew we had something special. Please ask for her if you go.The salon renovated several years ago to give it more of that lush, serene spa feel, and it's gorgeous. The pedi massage chairs just hug you in welcome, and I could seriously nap in them. Everything is clean and well-cared for; the staff is efficient, even if it is sometimes difficult to understand their Vietnamese-twinged English.A basic mani-pedi will set you back about $35 -- very reasonable considering the job well done.Sadly, I will not step foot in Elegant Touch again given my shame over passing out while getting a manicure. It's a story I can tell ya over a beer sometime.P.S. There is no lot, but I never had a problem finding street parking right in front of the shop, even on a bustling Saturday morning. Read Less
