First things first, this place is gorgeous. And it was big, spacious and everyone was nice enough. But I made an appointment for 4pm and it was 4:30 and I still hadn’t been seen. There was also a woman just sitting in the chair, without being seen probably longer than I was. There were also more people waiting, most with appointments as well. WOW. I have never felt so many emotions during a nail service in my entire life. I waited at least 10 minutes just to be seated after picking out my color- employees kept looking at me from a distance without saying a word. I almost left then and I sure should have. I asked for dip polish, was handed one ring of colors and I politely asked if this was everything they had. They responded as if that was a large selection, again another red flag. The nail tech clearly did not know how to do dip powder but felt like she should give it a go anyways. My nails were bumpy, the dip powder was sliding off of them, it looked like trash half way through. She started to redeem herself by smoothing the powder down but ultimately ended up just making marks all over my nails. I already had a coffin shape going as my last nail tech (out of state) was phenomenal yet I have ended up with maybe 3 coffin shaped nails and the rest rectangular. The nail tech realized once she was completely done that some of my nails were messed up so decided to fix them - 6 out of 10 nails. Now, half my nails are a shade darker than the others, all my cuticles were sawed off and destroyed, the color is grainy and one nail has chipped less than 24 hours later -  keep in mind, powder does not generally, if ever, chip. I have finally found a detail-oriented, clean, friendly and quiet nail salon!  It had been quite the adventure, and most experiences have left me feeling ignored and extremely frustrated. But Luxe Nails & Spa,  what a breath of fresh air!! To begin, they have reasonable weekends hours, open until 8:30pm on Saturday. I arrived a little before 6p after a recommendation from my wax lady. I walk in, explain that I would like a manicure, and am instantly greeted and asked to pick a color. Moments later Tony approaches me and says that he will be helping me today. I tell him that I am looking for a natural nail color and he picks up Opi - Love is in the Barre (or #38). He says you will like this, it is natural. I trust him and we walk to his superbly clean station to begin my manicure. Let me just say, that my cuticles have never looked better!  Tony was extremely meticulous with great attention to detail. Now here is that part the won me over, I was receiving a shellac/gel manicure. After my hands were fantastically groomed and cleaned, Tony put these blue fingerless gloves on my hands. I asked him what this was for and he said, "to protect your hands from the UV." I was amazed. For many years I have struggled with the shellac process because of the UV, and as a Scientist I am quite familiar with the connection between UV and DNA damage and cancer. Of the many manicures I've received on my quest to find my preferred nail salon in Boston, I had never been to a establishment that protected its customers from the potential negative consequences of UV. The polish that Tony picked was perfect, it was truly natural with a little shine. And combined with the perfect nail and cuticle shaping, I was left with beautiful nails hands. I got my eyebrows done today...and they were great. In the past 2 years, I've mostly done my nails and toes. One thing that has irked me is the rudeness that I've encountered at checkout. At least two of the ladies at this salon have slammed my debit card on the counter...instead of handing it back to me in my hand. I always get greeted with a friendly hello at the beginning. But at the end - my debit card gets slammed on the counter followed with a fake goodbye at the end. I don't like to go to places I do not feel welcomed - and this has happened TWICE already. I initially tried this place for the sake of convenience; boy was I in for a surprise. They were fabulous! I have absolutely no complaints. From the cleanliness of the place to the polishung of the nails...all flawless. This is now my go to place. I refuse to go else where! Read Less

I went for a pedicure and a dip manicure. My pedicure was fine, it just took a long time. The issues started when I went over to get my manicure. To start with they still didn't have the powder ready for my nails (they had an hour to do this while I was getting my pedicure), so the man, who was clearly aggravated they put me at his table, was annoyed with me for not having the color. He then started the process of smoothing out and filing my nails, he got halfway through and then made me get up and move to a different station where another man took over. The 2nd man then started to do all the stuff the 1st guy has done. I told him we already did that and after me telling him everything that had been done he finally got on track. At the end he told me I could pick a top coat : shinny, which requires the led light light a gel manicure, OR the less shinny, which is just like regular polish. I picked the less shinny. When he said I was done and I washed me hands my nails looked awful, and when I pointed it out he then BLAMED ME and told me I should have gotten the other top coat. He then tried to fix it and made it worse. This was now a 2 hour ordeal and he wouldn't admit fault and made me pay full price. A few days later I went back and spoke to the manager who fixed it, but she also told me it was my fault for picking the wrong top coat. Read Less

Well, I went in with two eyebrows and left with .25 of an eyebrow above each eye. Sad, sad day. The aesthetician was a bit overly eager when it came to waxing the 'ole brows. I've been going to this salon for a few years but it seems the quality and customer service has gone way down. I hadn't seen any new polish colors in regular or gel. I inquired and was told there's new colors and pointed to ones that were clearly old. Why lie? Parking recently became difficult and I watched 3 employees park in customer parking. I asked about it and was told to park in Whole foods. Then I was told the person who does my nails doesn't work on Sundays. No one mentioned it when the  appointment was made.  A woman next to me also had an appointment with the same nail tech. I walked out frustrated and will never return. However, it saddens me that because of Angela's rude behavior you've cost one of your employees money. Read Less

When we first started going here, the service was great, but now they don't seem to care about inconveniencing the customer at all!  We went to Tony for our gel nails, he does EXCELLENT work.  My sister and I have been going there for over a year.  Recently, on 3 separate occasions, we made appointments at least 2 weeks in advance each time.  The first time, we received a call (on the day of our appointment) to let us know that Tony was not going to be in.  The last two times, we showed up and only then were we told "he was on vacation for the weekend".  NO CALL, NO APOLOGY, they did not even TRY to accommodate us.  By the 3rd time I was done!  I walked out and will not return.  I refuse to give my money to a business that has no respect or courtesy for the customer.  No matter how good Tony is, there is always someone out there just as good or better and Lux Nails & Spa Owners should keep that in mind.  No matter how good business is, always treat your customers right! If I had seen the yelp reviews beforehand, I may not have gone in. We were on our way to Lovely Nails down the street, which had an hour wait for anything. Lee (my favorite technician at Lovely Nails), wasn't even there. So my cousin suggested we come here, and lucky for guys, they were able to take us right away.I asked for a pedicure & a UV gel full set, and my cousin got a pedicure. I asked for the pedicure first, since that was all that she was getting done, but for whatever reason, they did not do this (i was insistent, too). The full set went very well though! I was afraid, because when she was initially shaping and buffing my nails, they were BEYOND crooked. she assured me that they would look better afterward, and I wasn't sure if I believed her because she assured me that I could get the pedicure first. And that didn't happen. But they look great. I am in love. And $40 is a great price, but I am comparing to my $35 acrylic full sets, and $50 UV gel full sets in NYC. Read Less

Terrible pedicure. Nail polish chipping off the same afternoon. Usually they last week's without chipping. The woman didn't speak a word of English, no exaggeration. She didn't even understand when I said, "file".  Nails filed unevenly. I'm going to have to pay for a polish change somewhere else. Very nice inside but that's about it. Read Less

I tried Lux because I was running an errand at legacy place, and it was convenient. There is not much parking because 50s dinner patrons park in the spots in front of the salon/spinning studio. I was checked in and brought back as soon as I chose a color. Pedicure was very thorough. Almost an hour was spent on my feet.  Then I was taken to the manicure station. My nail tech disappeared for 10 minutes. She then drew blood twice while cutting my cuticles, a couple of my nails were also filed crooked. Considering I spent nearly two hours at the salon, I am furious to report I had three nails chip this morning, less than 24 hours after I left the salon. I will most certainly not be back. Read Less

They had fuzzy pillows for the kids, the water lit up and changed colors (kids loved it) and the gentleman who welcomed us brought a huge bowl of candy for the kids to pick some treats and some water and wine for the adults. I got the worst gel manicure of my life here! Honestly the only word for it is pathetic. You could see the white tip of every nail and at least 3 of them had streaks on them. When I pointed this out to the owner or whoever it was and said this gel manicure is horrible, he mumbled sorry while still asking me to pay $25. I paid but wish I hadn't and I will certainly never go back here. With so many nail salons right in this area I would be SHOCKED if this place lasts. Someone else came in complaining while I was getting my manicure, now I understand why. Read Less

Love this salon! Clean, beautiful decor, nice technicians and owner! Complimentary beverage with your services, and reasonably priced especially for their area. Conveniently located in Legacy Place. I came in on a holiday, no appointment, and was greeted immediately and seated. I got a regular mani & pedi. The hot stones, sugar scrub and massage chairs at the pedicure stations make it worth the extra few bucks alone. Definitely a relaxing environment. Will definitely come again! Read Less
