Got a color change for my nails. It was an okay job. I could have done a better job myself at home. The nail lady didn't go all the way down to the root and didn't clean up cuticles when she finished painting my nails. cheap but also very hit and miss. there are three younger ladies working there and 2/3 are capable - the other is consistently slow and inaccurate. the older lady is also really slow and inaccurate. My wife had come here for a manicure and pedicure, and one week later she developed a fungus causing all of her fingernails and toenails fell off. Very painful process and the salon brushed it off claiming it must've happened from somewhere else. My recommendation is to avoid this place as their unsanitary practices are not worth the risk. Paid $10 + Tip. As a guy I can’t complain about the price or service. They were P A C K E D on Sunday and I called ahead for an appointment. While there people walked in and waiting anywhere from 2min (me) to 10 min (two manicures) to 45min wait for mani+pedi. Would highly suggest! Read Less

They were very friendly, but I'm pretty disappointed with the quality. It could possibly just be the woman that helped me, but a mani/pedi took 2 hours and was sloppy. I absolutely love this place. Sadly, I do not live in Boston, so I am not sure when I will be back. I decided to give this place a try regardless of the polarizing reviews. Here's what happened.I came here to get gel manicure for a wedding. I was there tester --- i went home and told my sister, and my two sister in laws to all get their nails done. This was my first visit and that will also be my last. I gave it two stars because the staff was friendly and the woman who did my pedicure was gentle and quick. When I was done I just glanced down at my feet and it looked pretty good, but when I came home and took my flip flops off I noticed small bumps or bubbles on my big toenails. I hate giving this place a bad review, especially because I've been going here since I was in high school, but i was so disappointed i didn't even tip the girl (which is unheard of for me). The girl who did my nails has done them before, and she always has a stank attitude like she'd rather be somewhere else. I requested a spa manicure- she put little to no effort in filing my nails, massaged my arms for less than two minutes, and wouldn't even put a towel down on the station so I could feel all the nail bits that she had filed off on my arms!! I came in pretty early in the morning as a walk-in and lucked out with a free nail technician. This was only my second gel manicure, the first I had done somewhere else and was horrible, it started coming off in the first week somehow and was very rushed. This was the complete opposite!I wanted a modern French tip gel manicure, and the lady who helped me out, I'm sorry I don't know her name, but she did it beautifully. This place used to be great but I think he management has changed (or at least I don't recognize anyone).I went in for a gel manicure and it started pealing almost immediately. I lived two seconds away from Sunny Nails for nearly two years--walked by it several times a day--and avoided it, because it just looked so unsanitary. Then, the day came when I desperately needed a manicure (I was being photographed for a magazine and they specifically told me I needed a "neutral manicure"), and decided, "how bad can it be?" People, it can be very bad. This place is as disgusting and unsanitary as it looks. They don't appear to sanitize their instruments. The man working on me had kind of gross, dirty hands, and repulsive long nails. The polish all seems ancient and gloppy. Trimming my cuticles was painful and awful; and my hands looked ragged and terrible within a day. They use the cheapest possible products--lotion, etc.--that smell utterly repellant. My polish was applied *okay*, but on the gloppy side. My nails were shaped unevenly. And the whole place is just so weird and stressful. There was a TV blaring *and* music playing. Blech. Until the lady giving me a pedicure grabbed the same foam toe separator (no idea what the term is) from the lady that had just finished with her pedicure and put it on me. I've been going here for a year and it's my favorite nail salon in the area. Pedicures are $25 and manicures are $10, which is extremely reasonable. The massages with the pedicures are always great, and the staff is very nice/professional. They got new massage chairs recently, which is also a plus. It can get busy on the weekends, however I've never felt rushed. I'd recommend calling ahead so that you don't have to wait too long. Read Less

This place we pretty awful. As a note, I have pretty low standards for nail salons. I don't expect anything fancy - just something fairly reasonable in price that looks nice. This place completely underwhelming though.I came at 4 on a Saturday and the lady at the front told me to come back in half an hour. She wasn't rude exactly, but she had no customer service skills. I came back at 4:30 and they seated me right away, but didn't start doing my pedicure until 4:50. The lady who started doing my pedi worked on me for 20 minutes and then got up to start working on receipts or something. She told me to wait 10 minutes. I waited for another half an hour until I had to beg someone else to come over and help me. I didn't leave the place until 6:30 - two hours!! Worse, the weird lady at the front keep arguing with customers in a really unprofessional way. It was embarrassing and awkward.My final pedicure (a normal french) was decent but slightly overpriced and didn't last long. TLDR; painfully, almost hilariously slow and with bad customer service. I was wary about this place as it only had 3 stars when I looked it up, but they were open later than most places and near my hotel.I had a great time here yesterday getting my nails done. All of the women in the salon are related as it is a family owned business, and I enjoyed how much they seemed to enjoy one another's company. They chatted with me and other customers as well, which is nice. They also had riveting episodes of Criminal Minds playing, which is a nice change from the telenovelas the salons are often playing in salons I go to in Austin.I removed one star because I had to wait 10 minutes or so even though I had an appointment and because my pedicurist dropped a hot towel on my leg. It didn't burn me but it was painful!I am very happy with my gel manicure, regular pedicure, and lip wax I received.The other customers were chatty and friendly too, which this extrovert relished in. I had an overall good experience here. Regular manicures are $10 and pedicures are $25. They have essie and opi nail polish (read: quality) and they take care of you. It's been three days and my nails still look great-no chips or bubbles. Bueno, bonito, y barato. I will be back. I learned about Sunny's while reading about nail art. Apparently this is one if the few places in Boston that do nail designs. You have to ask for it specifically and the day I went I was too lazy to really think about what design I wanted so I didn't get any. Next time I'll take photos of the sample designs and post them here in case anyone wants to think ahead. I don't know what other people were saying about there not being a waiting area. I got there unannounced and waited half an hour. Some people were told to come back at a certain time and directed to near by coffee houses. There are several chairs and anyone who has not waited at a manicure station before apparently has not been to a salon on NYC (or anywhere really). Not a fan of the TV playing daytime soaps and Family Feud. Made it difficult for me to read. The mani+pedi was good. I had a male technician (a first for me) and he did a great job. I'm not a fan of small talk so I was perfectly happy without having to answer any questions about what I do (oh a scientist? I could never do science). Their default style is slightly rounded nails and polish that doesn't to all the way to the cuticle so make sure to specify if you want anything different.  Massage chairs and leg massages are a plus.
