Fist time there and the lady that did my gel manicure did a bad job. I had to make sure I told her to paint my corners. Then she shaped my nails really bad. I just went to get my acrylic nails removed and the woman who did it BUTCHERED my nails. She literally used another nail tip to RIP them off my nails. No soaking or anything. My nails look ripped up. And On top of all that, she charged me $15 when they told me it would be $10. I called and asked for a refund, which they gave to me thankfully, but the woman was incredibly sassy to me about the situation. I will not be going to this salon again. Read Less

Arrived at 2pm on a Tuesday for a mani/pedi with no reservation.  All techs were busy with other patrons, asked the man behind the counter,  who's doing nothing but watching tv, how long is the wait?He advises twenty minutes, but there is no real waiting area. So me and two other customers are just standing in the center of the door. Another customer arrives and he ignores her for ten minutes, then tells her she's late for her 2pm appointment and will have to wait to be serviced.... without looking at her!Once provided a seat in the pedicure station, no-one filled it with water for at least fifteen minutes,  then the same man who's program went to commercial came over and started the water. My tech came over shortly afterwards and keep speaking to me while wearing a face mask so I kept telling her she needed to speak up because I couldn't see her mouth. Needless to say, we never understood each other. The tech was efficient but rushed me through everything including simple filing/ buffing. The best part of my time here was being seated next to a really awesome lady who was hilarious ahs really friendly. I don't recommend this nail salon unless you have no other choice. I came in for a quick manicure and my friend for a mani/pedi. Of course, they attended to her first bc it's going to take longer and she's getting more done which is understandable. After I chose a color, I told the owner (the only man there) that I was ready (not knowing there was a wait). He laughed at me sarcastically saying, "well, we're not." I decided to let this go. I sat in front of the tv to wait patiently for 30-40 mins. I decided to ask him for an ETA after that. Without turning and facing me, he said "They're getting ready for you." I sat back down and waited 10 more mins or so. Since he was around the area, I decided to follow up with him about the wait. This time, he turned to me and said in a bothered he tone, "you keep asking me! I said they're getting ready for you!" I just gave him this look, picked up my stuff and left. I'm also 7 months pregnant. No one deserves to be treated like that and I've given them business before, even told my friends to go there because it was the closest place (not necessarily the best). I'm never stepping foot there again and If you care about customer service and being treated fairly, I would not come here either. X Read Less

I just came back from the place. I have been a frequent customer since 2015 because I live in the area. This place could not take credit cards due to some glitches today. I didn't have any cash on me nor debit card, only credit card. They did not inform me about it when I entered the store, but only told me so after they cut my nails. Of course after I told them I don't have cash with me, they were so worried that I couldn't pay them so they stopped smoothing my nails, let me leave with my nails in some sharp ugly shape. Worst customer service ever!! They even didn't try to offer me other choices. They could maybe take my bank transfer? They even didn't try, but started to pack everything in from of me and were very indifferent. Ruined my pre-holiday mood. Would never go there again. Read Less

Ok, so the salon itself seemed very nice and clean.I got both a pedicure and no chip manicure. They both cam out wonderfully. One week later they are both flawless. And I'm pretty rough on my hands.Only thing that was lacking was customer service. Almost all the ladies were rude. I was with around 5 other girls, my technician was very friendly, but she seemed like the only one. One of our girls got pushed out of the drying station way too early and smudged half of her nails. Also a very rude older man came in and jabbed one of the technicians with his umbrella. Not sure if he's the owner or what but it gave everyone a very uneasy feeling. Read Less

Not super impressed with this salon. The space is mediocre, nothing fancy. They clearly are not trying to be an eclectic place. My chair massage didn't work and neither did the other 4 chairs next to me-- odd. They have a good-ish selection on nail colors but the problem is they OVERCHARGE ($3) for certain colors. What. The. Heck. It's very bizarre. It's not like those colors are gel or anything? They are OPI. Was not impressed and definitely won't be coming back. I made an appointment online and it appears that appointment goes into some black hole and disappears as they didn't even ask for my name when I showed up and said I had an appointment. The layout of this salon is also really weird. The drying bar is ALL the way in the back of this narrow salon. So when you are all dried up you have to jump over the manicurist and pedicure people. The worst nail salon I have ever been to. This place deserves not so much a star as a black hole. Overbooked, cuts on my hands, insufficient protective layers, which were applied not at a table, but while I was sitting on a stool in the waiting area. You know those jokes about how people are talking shit about you in a foreign language while doing your nails? This is the place to go if you want to experience that. Most people are smart enough not to do it in front of me as it is ambiguous if I understand them or not, but these people said terrible things about my friend and I being liars because we didn't have cash to tip. My friend went to an ATM to get cash while I was still getting my manicure and she didn't even know what they were saying!My manipedi was also terrible because she kept cutting me and not noticing. She was also in a rush and my second hand wasn't started until she decided in her own we weren't tipping and rushed through it. At the end, she saw all the blood on one of my fingers and said in Vietnamese "thank God this wasn't an issue". Terrible people who do not deserve your money. Definitely don't go here. Read Less

Nothing was horrible here, but I've definitely experienced better.  We made appointments and nothing started until 45 minutes later - what's the point of an appointment then?  No apologies, just a lackadaisical owner or manager who didn't seem to care.  He sat my two friends in pedi chairs with the water on, and me next to them without water.  After a while I asked him if he could fill the tub and he said, "Not yet."  Uh...okay.The girl who did my pedicure was fine.  The pedicure is mediocre.  I still have dead skin very visible on my now-dry feet which could have easily been removed with 5 extra seconds and a little bit of attention.  She also took money (cash) from another customer while wearing her gloves and continued to work on me.  Whatever.Also the prices they charge aren't what is listed on the menu up front.It's probably fine if you're desperate or a local college kid, but I won't be going back. Just got back from a wonderful spa pedicure at Couture Nail and felt compelled to write a review. I scheduled a same-day appointment on the salon's website, which couldn't have been easier. Even last-minute, there was lots of availability. My appointment started right on time with no waiting. Comfy spa chairs, polite staff, a clean and relaxing space, and lots of OPI and Essie paint colors to choose from (but not so many to be overwhelming!) My pedicure was thorough and perfectly timed: not too rushed, not too long. Best of all, the technician was SO meticulous, careful, and gentle, from the prep to the massage to the polish. I was so relaxed, I could have fallen asleep in the chair! It's the only pedicure I've ever actually enjoyed. I left the salon feeling so relaxed, and my polish looks perfect to boot! Five stars. I've been here a few times and the quality is really hit or miss. I went in today and got yet another sub par mani pedi.  I walked in and there was one other person in the salon; the place was basically empty.  None the less, my nail tech seemed really rushed.  He seemed to be trying to do my toes without touching my feet.  I get it, feet aren't awesome, but I shower!  I wear socks!  He also cut my toenails, which was weird.  They weren't long.  I cut them myself two days ago. This has never happened to me before.  He cut them so short it really hurt when he went to file them, which he did for about 30 seconds total.  Someone else did my nails.  She started while I was still getting my toes done.  She didn't soak my hands/nails at ALL and didn't even ask me to wash them.  Erm, kinda gross. Then she cut my cuticles which weren't soft in the least, having not been soaked.  Ouch.When my toes were done I was walked over to the nail station, and even though the place was still basically empty I've never had such a rushed manicure.  She barely bothered to file my nails at all. They're not totally even, and one index finger is oddly shaped and pointed.  She smudged my polish bumping it with the polish bottle and just painted over it rather than fixing the mistake.  She looked annoyed when I pointed it out.  Why am i here if you're not going to do a better job than I would at home?  You really can't be cranky that I expect the nails I'm paying you to paint to be painted smoothly.  When she was done, I pointed out a place where the polish was really streaky and not covering the full nail.  It wasn't chipped or smudged; it was just a sloppy job.  She made kind of a half attempt at fixing it and I started to notice a bunch of them were like that.  When I walked out i realized a few fingers had dried with air bubbles in the polish.  This has never happened to me at my regular place.  Sigh.  This is the ONLY nail salon close to my work, so I've tried to make it work a few times, but it's just not going to happen. I just got a shellac manicure from Couture, and I am happy with the result. I decided to stop in for a manicure in between my two classes, and this was my first time at this salon. It is located in the heart of Harvard square, which may explain why it's a bit pricier than other salons at which I have gotten shellac before. I usually spend $25 for shellac at my go-to salons on Beacon Hill and in Union Square, and I spent $30 here at Couture. However, the higher price was okay with me, as the service was great, the woman who did my nails was very detail-oriented, and I was very happy with the result. They offer several packages, including $55 for a shellac manicure and spa pedicure, which is very reasonably priced and which I plan to get on my next visit. The interior of the salon is very modern (which you can see in the pictures) and they have a great selection of colors, a nice drying section with lots of magazines, and kind workers. My only issue was that the dryer that dries the gel burned my nails more so than I've experienced at other salons. It was bearable but more uncomfortable than I am used to. Their manicures chip after 1-2 days vs 5-6 at other nail salons I've been to. I've come here three or four times now and similar result. Also, their credit card machine conveniently broke on the day before an HBS formal when a lot of women were getting nails done, so they had probably 80 women come through, paying only in cash. Not only was that inconvenient for the customer, it was a little suspicious. Upside is good location and reasonable price. But I'd rather pay more for something that lasts! Read Less

I get acrylic nails, and this place is tops. It's the same girl who does it every time and sometimes she's not there so make an appointment! I bite my nails VERY short and she has always been really nice about it and done a beautiful job. The nails never look "bubbly" like some acrylic nails do. Very natural and smooth, and they usually stay on a long time. The prices aren't cheap ($35 for a full set, $25 for a fill I believe) but they are reasonable for the area. They also frequently discount fills by fixing 2-for-1 fixes, etc. It's very close to the center of Harvard Square and therefore convenient for me to stop after work. They are also open till 8, which is at least a half hour later than neighborhood competitors. Great color selection including all the usual Essies and OPIs, and CHINA GLAZE! Love it. Also, in response to another review - the girls do speak English. Not well, but I never expect that from a nail salon in this area. Read Less

No English - like none. Great find! Small, quiet and clean salon nestled away in Harvard Square. Decent polish selection, attentive and nice staff, and affordable prices. My only gripe with the place is that they do that shame upselling thing that so many do. When they look at you with concern and go "are you getting your brows done too?" Nope, my brows are fine.
