Service was choppy and rushed. I hated the way my nails came out. This is the blunt and uneven result of me asking for a coffin nail shape. I corrected my tech too many times to want to do it continuously. I asked her to take my length down multiple times. On top of the bad service , a man who worked in the salon was yelling a baby girl who could barely talk —-Yelling “Shut up! After having a full set of evelashes, I had a reaction to the eyelash glue. I offered to come after work to have the lashes removed but the tech was working another job. I had to go home, put my head in steam for 10 mins then olive oil. I didn't get them all off, about 10 were stubborn and that was only 1 eye.. After paying $120 to look nice, I am a hot mess. I came here because the majority of the reviews were decent. And I needed a good massage and one of the reoccurring things I read was the lengthy massage. My tech seemed to be in a rush. Even when trimming and filing. I don't think he even massaged the bottom of my feet once. I was really disappointed. At the end when I was done drying I noticed my big toe had little pieces of sand stuck in the polish from when I grabbed my shoes and I just wanted to be done so I didn't even say anything. I am a big fan of Bruce nails. I have been going there for a couple years now for acrylic full sets, fills, regular manicures and pedicures. I especially love the way they do acrylics. It is $30 for a full set and they always come out perfect. My only complaint about the nail place is it is always crowded so you may feel a little claustrophobic but the good thing is they have a lot of employees working so you don't have to be waiting a long time, even if you're a walk in. First time visiting this place which is very close to where I live. I went in for a gel polish manicure and was pleasantly surprised by the high level of service and attention to detail. The gel removal and application & manicure was excellent. I waited about 20 minutes as I was a walk-in and it was around lunch time which I didn't think was long at all. Called to book a mani pedi in the morning. I was given an appointment for 12:30 pm same day. I arrived a few minutes early, I had to check in and alert them that I was here and had an appointment at 12:30 pm. She seemed bothered and distracted. I was told to pick a color. It was not busy but patrons there. 30 minutes later as walk ins came and went and absolutely no attention was given to me I quietly got up and walked out. Only then did Trish run out with lightening speed to hunt me down and say they were ready for me. Customer service is horrible. This is not the first time this happened to me here. I came here about a month ago, got a mani and pedi. The man who did my pedicure was nice. He took his time. While doing my pedi he asked, "would you like a manicure too?" I said Yes. Wanted it the color of my pedicure.. But while I was watching their tv, did not realize it until it was too late he was starting to do a French manicure on me? I knew that would cost extra, I felt bad he had already started so I just sucked it up and just dealt with it. After that I got my eye brows done, loved the way they came out. Today I returned just to get my eye brows done, and dear God, I wish I was just having a nightmare. The lady comes over and calls me. We walk back to the room and she then began her experiment on me. I kept wondering what she was doing because my brows were hurting so much (she was waxing and plucking hairs I've never plucked my whole life). I looked in the mirror when she finished and all I could do was cry and cry some more. I told her I only wanted a clean up and she took off literally 2/3 of the hairs I owned. I'm extremely upset. I came into the salon with them also drawn in a little. If I come in with thick/drawn in eye brows, why would you think I'd want it tiny 1990s style????? I'm never coming back here again. These guys are the absolute best!!! Have had quite a few manicures and pedicures over the years, and these guys are the best!! Most detail oriented and meticulous service! My favorite is the hot stone massage with the pedicure(no extra cost for that one folks!). Trish is a French manicure queen, but don't be fooled---her hubby Bruce is equally as amazing! I have gone to Bruce Nails every 2 weeks for the past year. I started out with Trish and was very happy with her work.  As time passed, Trish gradually convinced me that all her girls are good and I should try Eva as Trish was often too busy.  I was very happy with Eva and stayed with her. Recently, I called to make an appointment and was told that Eva was no longer working at Bruce Nails.  At that time, Trish put me with another nail technician.  I was very unhappy with her work and her demeanor.  My pedicure was rushed, she didn't cut my nails as I asked, my full set nails were not all the same length, nor did she ever check to see if they were.  She told me I had to pay extra when I asked if she was going to clean up my cuticles. I told her that I come every 2 weeks and no one has ever told me it was extra to clean up my cuticles.  She told me it was because I asked. If you ask, it is considered an additional service.  I got a pedicure, full set and eye brow wax that day which totaled $90  including tip. So, ok, you get a bad person, chalk it up and see someone else.  I made my next appointment with Trish.  Although my appointment was at 3 PM, I stood in a packed doorway for 10 minutes before Trish seated me at her station. While I sat in the chair, Trish proceeded to take a walk in client , file her nails, and wrap her with foil to remove her gel polish.  At 3:20, I asked Trish if she wanted me to come back later and she said no.  When Trish finally started my nails, she brought up my unhappiness with my service 2 weeks prior.  Well it just went down hill from there.  She told me that Eva was not good and that the girl I was unhappy with (don't know her name)  was better and has more experience.  I told Trish the girl was rude and I didn't like her work.  I also told her that Eva was good and did a much better job.  She then went on to tell me that I should have one of the other girls do my nails because she gets busy too busy.  If she was not in the middle of going my nails, I would have walked out. There has been a big turn over in staff at Bruce Nails and I guess I can see why. If this is how the customer gets treated I can't imagine what it is like for the staff.  If you book with one of the technicians in the back, be prepared to have a camera staring down at you as that is how Trish and Bruce keep tabs on their staff. Nail salons are a dime a dozen and how you treat your customer is what makes you better than the nail salon next door. So, needless to say, I will never go back there.  The nail salon next door is much more respectful. Read Less

Bruce Nails is great. A couple years ago I moved about 20 minutes away from the area, but I still travel back to Bruce even though there are several nail places within walking distance from me.  I'm too nervous to go anywhere else.  They give great service and Trish and Bruce will do whatever they can to keep their customers happy. I always get a gel manicure and it comes out great and lasts for 2 weeks. The one time I got bad service, I told Trish and she fixed my nails herself and they came out great. The only reason why I giving 4 star is because I think they need to expand. This place is always packed. It is not exactly a relaxing place however the quality of their work is like none other. Yes Posh is nice and nail and co is nice but I've left both places so mad that I just spent that money and end up with not so nice looking toes and fingers.   I have tried many nail salons because I have moved out of town but always end up back at Bruce's because I like quality work. Okay place. The pedicure I got was fine. Your standard pedicure but they also do a foot and leg scrub plus massage with hot stones which is lovely. Why I knocked off two stars is it's a very small shop and feels claustrophobic. The pedicure chairs are right on top of each other and there isn't much room between them and the manicure tables. The music was pretty loud. So between that and all the people in there, it wasn't a very relaxing experience. I've gotten spoiled at a place in Billerica that's a bit more spread out and also has more space in between the pedicure chairs with sheer curtains between each and attached side tables. Probably won't go back to Bruce. Not bad, just not my preferred atmosphere. Read Less

Love. Love. Love this nail salon. I am there every two weeks and I see Kim. I get a gel manicure and a pedicure and you CANNOT beat the prices! They do hot stone massages during the pedicure, which I personally look forward to.  My gel usually lasts the full two weeks, due to Kims' attention to detail. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Best nail salon quality wise in Winchester, Burlington, Lexington, Arlington, Woburn, Medford area. Its not a fancy salon and more expensive than the rest but no other salon creates a better final product than they do and that's why they get away with charging so much. Had a decent manicure with friendly service.  I did have to wait a LONG time even though I had an appointment.  Not cool when you need to rush to work after, kinda takes the fun out of getting your nails done.   Otherwise, its a good place, and the pricing is reasonable and its pretty clean. This is really one of the best nail salons I've ever been to. It is far from my home but the ride is worth it. Even with a full salon, they always find a way to fit you in. Alright... lets talk acrylic's. So I work at a hair salon on Newbury Street in Boston, and I am sure some of you are wondering why I dont just find a spot around here to go. Well if you have ever had acrylic's you know that they can be boxy and estheticly unappealing. well let me tell you, $40 for a full set, and $20 for a fill by Susan and you will be SOLD! She has the ability to make them thin, beautiful, and natural looking. Go Go Go! You will not be disappointed! The owners Bruce & Trish are amazing, welcoming, and they know all their clients by name!! And the dolly at the desk is just the sweetest, and always willing to help with color choices should you need some advice!! Valerie's sister AP was going to her Junior Prom and Valerie had decided to take her to get manicures the day before.  Valerie called and made an appointment for 5 pm two days beforehand.  The woman on the phone was nice and kept calling her "hunny."  Then there was a change of plans the next day and Valerie had to change the appointment to 4:30; the man who answered the phone said that it would be busy, but to come at 4:30 and they would squeeze us in.So, 4:30 rolls around and Val and AP enter the nail salon and are instantly hit with the scent of polish, remover, and other assorted chemicals.  There wasn't much ventilation  and all of the employees were wearing masks.  We took a seat and were offered bottles of water by the woman behind the front desk.  One of AP's friends from school was there and she said she was still waiting for her 4:00 appointment to start.  While we were waiting (which turned into 20 minutes) multiple people got up and left saying they would be back in an hour, or just rescheduled their appointment for another day.  Every chair and pedicure station was full.Besides the smell, the facilities overall were OK.  It was a small space which was not really decorative.  There was a TV on the back wall, and the waxing area was a chair that had a curtain wrapped around the area, like you would see in the hospital.  The salon was cleanly - all of the tools were washed and the tables/towels were clean.  There was a sink to wash in and hot towels to dry your hands with.  The manicure was good - there were many OPI colors to choose from and the woman was nice and meticulous.  They had lemons in the warm water bowls, and they used cuticle oil and good smelling hand cream.  The woman even carried my purse over to the drying station afterwards so as to not mess up the nails.  One thing Valerie found comical was that there was a container of crytal light candies by the drying machines; they were individually wrapped and impossible to open without messing up the wet polished nails.The prices were reasonable - we paid $13 dollars each for a plain manicures (french was more) and they also offer gift cards.  They accept credit cards, but all of the tips must be in cash (the atm nextdoor charges a $1.75 fee).  It's been three days and my nails have not chipped at all yet!In short...if you can stand the smell, and don't go on one of the busier days of the year, Bruce's isn't bad.
