I got a regular manicure here on a Saturday around 6 PM because it was the only place open. The place was completely empty and they told me to pick a color right away. All the employee's were on their iPads or phones with there headphones in and were incredibly short with me and rude as if I was an inconvenience even though the place didn't close for anther 2 hours. I strongly debated walking out before even picking my color but decided to stay because no other place was open and that was the only time I had that week to get my nails done. As for the actual manicure, I picked a really light color that was very opaque and needed 2 coats for my nails underneath to not be seen. The lady that did my manicure was seemed to be rushing through it and did a poor job on the 2nd coat. So the 2nd coat is very uneven and at certain parts it looks like parts of my nail polish has chipped off even though I had just gotten them done. I would have done a better job myself. Overall, do NOT recommend going here unless you are just looking for a quick nail polish change and subpar service. I recommend walking a couple minutes down to aernail bar instead. $4 more for a regular manicure but you get a great professional manicure. Read Less

Didn't do my nails properly they weren't shaped nice and my acrylic nail was the exact size of my finger instead of the size of my actually nail. They looked big, ugly and of course didn't last long. I Got charged extra because I wanted them long. First salon I heard that charges by the length lol. In addition to that I got charged extra again because I got the Holographic nails. Don't mind being charged extra but my total came up to ALMOST 100 for trash nails. It also isn't the first time I got charged extra I went there to fix ONE nail and get a polish change and got charged like 50$ just ridiculous. I love it here! This is where I get my acrylics filled when I am living in the city. It's about $30 for a fill which seems a little pricey (my place at home is $30 for a full set) but the quality is so good that it's worth it! For a fill, I recommend calling ahead because I think there is only one employee who does acrylics. Friday and Saturday nights they are always empty but I went on a weekday today and they had a steady stream of people but nobody had to wait. The woman is extremely thorough and makes sure everything is perfectly filed and secured. The last time I went almost a month before any started to peel up. I randomly yelped a nail salon when I was in the neighborhood and St Mary's was the most convenient.  However, I ended up being very impressed with the service and professionalism of my manicurist.  I got one of the best gel manicures i've ever received here.Highly recommend! Read Less

I had a gel mani/pedi with removal, and had something new done where they take a mirror and make a streak on each nail. Total was $100, I think the streaks we're $10 or $20 of that. Not sure I'll do that again but it does look neat. This place is kind of run down, no music, and I don't know how much they clean their tools if at all. It would have been nice if they could work on hands and feet at the same time as I told them I had a flight to catch and they had 2 people sitting there. I haven't been to this place in about a year. The prices have gone up a bit. It's $32 for a gel manicure. The prices aren't listed except for 1 pamphlet on the front counter where the old prices are crossed out and the new prices written in. My nail tech was meticulous with my manicure and did a fantastic job. I prefer this quiet place over Town Nails on Newbury which is always crowded.Go to the ATM before you go here. I have gone to many different nail salons not only in Montreal but I can sincerely state that this is BEST one I have gone to. The salon is very clean and professionally operated with the owner/managers being very attentive to every customer making sure we have the best experience! I love the fact that the staff is more focused on their work and not looking greedily at the door with the usual "can I help you" they don't need to because this place is always FULLY BOOKED! They only have one lady that knows how to do acrylics. I walked in one day to get one of my acrylics fixed and the lady wasn't there. Another lady told me to sit down so I assumed she knew how to do it. The lady took AN HOUR to try to put acrylic on my finger. Not only the nail is WAY longer and bigger than my other ones, she had NO IDEA what she was doing. After this, she wouldn't let me pay credit like I even should be paying her after such a bad service!!! She wiped off the acrylic several times because she couldn't get it right. Absolutely horrible. I came here without an appointment so I was willing to wait a bit; however, while I was waiting two of the workers were on break. People who came in after me for gels got their nails finished for me and I was just getting a simple manicure.While I was getting my nails done, the workers kept talking about me which I found really rude. I made some suggestions as to how I wanted my nails to be but the lady doing my nails just brushed me away and ignored them. I was like what? My friend was sitting next to me for moral support and they had her move away in the middle of it and that really annoyed me. In addition, the filing they do really hurts. I have been going here for a few years now and will never return!!  I went for a pedicure and one of the techs said to come back in 30 minutes which I did.  When I returned there was a line and I was trying to make eye contact with the woman who had seen me earlier.  Another tech yelled at me to sit down...YIKES!  When a chair opened up, the tech barely cleaned it, filled the tub with water and had me soak my feet.  I sat with my feet soaking for 40 minutes.  When the fly landed on my lap, I got up and left.  Miniluxe here I come! I came to St. Mary's Nails on the recommendation of a friend. I came by on a Tuesday night to get my nails done for my birthday. I didn't have an appointment but the place was empty and I was helped right away. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was nice - the girl was very detail oriented and made sure the water was warm enough, I enjoyed the color I had chosen, and that my massage felt nice. My gel manicure, done by the same girl, was just as wonderful. Her attention to detail really showed in her work and I love my manicure (and pedicure). This is a low key salon right near St. Mary's stop of the C Line. The prices are comparable for the area (I paid $52 for a gel manicure and pedicure). So if you're looking for a decent place to get your nails done, St. Mary's is a good choice. Read Less

I've gone to St. Mary's several times and I've found the place to be mediocre. The prices are more on the expensive side, but I think that is to be expected when you are in the city.Yesterday I went and paid 30$ to replace my gel, and less than 24 hours later, the gel is already beginning to peel off. Good gel manicures - wide range of colors, including temperature sensitive ones. They also remove gel manicures with wrapping each nail in acetone and cotton. This removes the gel smoothly without damaging the nails from other methods like scraping it off. Pedicures are good too,there are massage chairs for those. My roommate and I came today to get mani/pedis. As we didn't have appointments, we expected to have to wait. However, we were taken right away which was awesome. But when our feet were soaking, no one assisted us for about 45 minutes. I would much rather have waited while my feet were not becoming pruny. The pedicure was mediocre at best. I asked for the pumice to be used on the sides of my feet but apparently that wasn't possible. I feel that for a pedicure that was more expensive than normal, there should have been more attention to detail. I also felt that everything was being rushed, since there wasn't enough staff to deal with the influx of customers. As we were waiting, I noticed that appointments were being taken via phone, but nothing was being written down. All in all, I'm not that sure that this was worth the price of the mani/pedi. There aren't many choices for nail salons in the area, that is why this nail salon was a convenient choice for me. I have been here two times, each time calling the day before to make an appointment ahead of time. Both times when I arrived, the ladies working there had no idea I had an appointment scheduled, saying "nobody wrote it in the book." I waited 15-20 minutes each time. The last time I came with my mom, who was visiting from CA, thinking it would a nice treat to get together. Despite my appointment, they didn't have time to finish her nails within the hour... That was disappointing.The nail salon itself is not the nicest, but it seems clean and has all the usual products and services for a reasonable price. The quality of the work is average, however because they promised work to many walk-ins they seemed to be rushing while doing my nails both times. In summary, if you have an option to go somewhere else for your nails, I'd definitely recommend that. If not, this place will suffice. Just don't bother to make an appointment. Read Less

I had a great experience, not sure why the ratings aren't higher. I walked in for a quick color change on my hands on a weekday evening and the place was empty except for two technicians who were at least in their forties or later. I chose an Essie wine colored polish and began right away. I felt like my mother was doing my nails because the lady was older and gentle but still firm with her work. I had my nails cut and trimmed the shape I asked and got two coats of polish with some fan drying in between. That I believe really helped the polish dry, which is great because I always smear my polish somehow. At the end I went to the drying station which were kept cleaner than those of other salons I've been to. Their tools are also kept in sanitized packets and in little decontaminating heat drawers. The best thing was the price was only $8 in cash! Very worth it. I will come here as my go to polish change place! The only small issue is that their color selection for OPI is relatively smaller, but Essie and some other brands fill in the spots. If you're okay with Essie and OPI then you'll be able to find something. Read Less

Came here on a Sunday 20 minutes before they closed & they were able to get me in for a color change which for just 10 dollars is basically a manicure -- they file & cut your nails wonderfully and don't really require a tip. This place has a TV which is nice, isn't crowded, and have a nice little back area for drying. It loses 1 star because their OPI color selection is pretty awful; for fall colors they only had one darker purple which was too bad. I opted for that color but really wish they had the selection offered at other places.The girl was nice and I had the privacy of being in my own spa for a Sunday Night R & R.Def will come back if and when I am in the area.
